Title: ATC250R suspension set up?
Post by: emullen on November 27, 2007, 10:58:32 AM
Is anyone really into these things anymore?  I took mine out the other day to Croom and had a blast.  However I am used to the suspension on my TRX and I realized that its time to bring the ATC up to par if I am going to bust it out of the dark depths of the garage.  Does anyone have experience with the set up on these?  any aftermarket shocks, springs, valve kits or even a good revalve on the stock rear shock also the front end-same thing?  I am about 200lbs w/o gear doing (some what aggressive) woods recreational riding on this thing and putting it to my buddies on their 4 wheelers :-) as they laugh.

thanks in advance for your time.

What year is it? I put some Progressive springs in the forks of my '86 and it helped out a lot. I haven't touched the rear shock but that setup would be almost the same as a TRX250R.

Here's a pic of mine.

you can send your rear shock to get revalved and resprung for your riding style and weight, and like Bones said get a set of progressive front springs and use a heavier wieght oil and that should bring it up to par, trikes have alot less sprung weight than a quad and setup right can get crazy like a dirtbike through the rough stuff, Im sending my flat track atc250r to www.fcrsuspension.com  to get completely redone for racing for me.
