Title: How does the 7 x 14 trailer tow?
Post by: vinson on November 27, 2007, 06:51:02 AM
I currently have a 6 x 12 open trailer, single axle trailer which I tow about 200 miles round trip.  I am pulling it with a Dodge Ram1500 with a Hemi.  I am getting about 10 to 12 MPG.

I just got rid of a 23' toyhauler about 5000 lbs fully loaded and I averaged about 7 mpg.

I am looking at getting a 7 x 14 v-nosed, enclosed trailer about (2000 lbs empty) with dual axle (springs, not torsion), about $4000 brand new.

What is the average MPG towing one of these?

Any comments?

Thanks

just a guess, but I wouldn't think it would be much different.

I've got two trailer to pull,,,,one a 6X12 enclosed that weighs 3500#s empty and a 6.5X14 open that weighs 700#s and there's only 1mpg difference between the two in towing it.

Just another Pinellas County resident saying welcome to the site. I know my friend has one and he gets around 12 mpg with his fully loaded.
