Hey did they raffel that rhino yet, I think I have had these darn tickets for going on 1 year & 8 months. Does anyone else have tickets for this? I am really upset with wasting the cash. I was led to believe the ARTIC cat or PROWLER was to be raffeled off that weekend in MARCH OF 2006. I want to know how LEGAL this is & where can I get a REFUND!

I'd love to see some pics too.  Unfortunately, I started drinking too early and forgot about my camera.   :(

How much are the raffle tickets? I might just buy the remainder left to stop hearing everyone pregnant dog. Nobody has any pictures from the weekend?? Everytime I take a camera with me I end up loosing it in one of the holes.

There $10 each & you would pregnant dog if you waited over a 1 1/2 years for a raffel  that never took place. Buy the next 1-200 I will be happy to see a winner period.Its the point.You dont sell something & let it drag on this long without stepping up & either cancelling it giving a refund or sucking up the last few tickets & announcing a winner. Enough is enough already.It is just BAD business period!

I've never heard of a raffle that takes over a year, especially one that isn't advertised as such. Sounds like they bit off more than they could chew and instead of refunding it they are leading everyone along.

I'm sure they had a goal in mind.... sell so many tickets @ $xxx = money for machine = 1 happy person that they spent the $10.00. They probably didn't expect the low sales volume. I'm sure the constant bitchin on this forum didn't help sales either.

Anyways, I guess nobody has any pics of rednecks in the mud? I bet youall have pics of the raffle tickets! Sorry, couldn't resist that one! 

We do raffles for fundraisers at work (we are a  non-profit). In order for them to be legal, they have to have a set beginning and end date. Unless specifically laid out on the tickets, the raffle must be held on that date and the item given to the winner. If it is laid out that a certain number of tickets must be sold by that date or the item will not be given away, then all funds must be returned in a 90 day period. Some items (on large ticket items) must be registered with some agency, but I do not know the info. on that.

When taking someone else's money, you should set REALISTIC goals.  This LCross is not just a farmer opening his property.  It is a business, they take in revenue.  They provide services.  Good for them, free enterprise reigns!  Lord knows farm prices are not that good.  Everything they makes goes to keep government regulations and then to freight out the product, the freight hauler has to give most everything he gets to the oil company, the grocer has to charge us more to cover his costs.   But that is another subject for another day.  :(

When you have a pie in the sky idea (a raffle), you should have a back up plan.  I never heard any complaining about the raffle until a reasonable date of drawing was well past.  Doubt it hurt sales.
They could show a special fund that has been set aside to prove that the raffle money is not just gone, too bad, so sad.  If they bought a machine with the proceeds of the raffle, is it stored for the eventual winner, or being banged up in use....so is the winner getting a "slightly used" vehicle vs what was advertised?   It all boils down to this, your word is only as good as your actions.

People pregnant dog about a whole lot less on this forum than money that seems to be thrown away.

I have a ticket from February 2007. I am a little pissed off but only because so many other people have a lot more than $10 wrapped up into something that was supposed to be a good thing. If you blow $50 on lottery tickets, you don't get pissed off as we are because there IS a winner or it is rolled over. RAFFLE THE DARN THING!!

You would think , with all the money the Peaces make , they would just dump the damn thing and make things right. so what if they lose a couple grand. Mr. Pierce must squeak when he walks.

Even if someone did they couldn't post them unless they are wearing helmets and how many rednecks playing in the mud have you seen wearing helmets? Very few.

Has anyone e-mailed Patricia P. about this? She is a member here. The way I see it is they have not sold enough tickets to pay for the full price of the unit. This has been going on for a while. I will E-mail her and aske her to chime in.   

The funny part is that the owners seem to frequent this board where a lot of their income comes from & they still havent spoke up or stepped up yet.

They will probably announce a "winner" who is an unknown friend of theirs & will vouch for them. I hope not, but they have obviousley broken the rules or laws concerning raffles. Sorry for you guys who wasted your money.

You have to register with the state if you are going to do a raffle. with a deff start and end date...if you dont sell enough tickets the raffle still HAS to happen!!!! Its the Law. :o

You would think someone from L-cross would reply since they are always peddling their events on here. I do not see how you can take the money and not issue a prize. I was thinking of going to one of the events but I think this is making up my mind not to. Just my opinion.

When we held a " worst kitchen" in Citrus county for our cabinet design center, we had to have a specific date that a winner would announced, and had to publish it in the chronicle!!!
 Maybe its just an "oversite" but I doubt it, especially if its been over 1 1/2 years...... Thats BAD business.....
 Hopefully all who purchesed tickets will get some restitution for their loss.

They take good peoples money & use this site to attract people for free & make tons of money off of it & we should leave them alone. They are clearly dishonest in their practices. I own 2 rhinos & I know you can get them retail out the door for just under 10K.I am sure this Rhino is a bare bones edition. So figure dealer cost maybe $7500?

How many tickets @ $10 have been sold?

Who owns the highest # ticket?

How many more will need to be sold?

Where is a specified account for the raffle located who holds it? I am sure commingling funds for a specific raffle should not be allowed to be put in a general account.

Why is there not a end deadline date for the raffle?

Just to let everyone know I have held these since February 2006 Where the prize was supposed to be a Prowler XT 650 & 2006 Arctic cat as printed on my ticket.I'm sure it was probably 1 or the other but that is how it is printed so I assume that both should be the prize. This is the only ticket I could scan since they were in my truck visor they are so sun faded you cant hardly make them out anymore.

How did it go from these 2 machines to 1 Rhino?

I am asking for my money back in open forum now.

Enough is enough,I think its time to contact the authorities.Anyone have an idea where to start? Perhaps a class action for the ticket holders?

Again L-cross is a great place to go and it has been greatly improved and I'm sure will continue to do so. BUT!!!!!! I only have one ticket. I didn't know about the other machines. I don't remember any disclosures or fine print. They can't just switch the prizes.

To me it reads that BOTH machines are to be awarded, By the & sign between the two listed.

Also, I am assuming that the " Florida power sports" is a dealership Correct ?? If so I would contact them as well to see what part they have in this being their name is on the tickets. They might also be able to say if the machines have been purchased, or who the account for the raffle money is held at ( what banking institution), That would then give you some place to start

I bought my ticket at the rally (the only rally that ever cost me $20 to attend) and it does not even look like that. I am now wondering if I bought a counterfeit. When I find it a picture will be posted.

We have ticket number 106, and it looks like Bushwacker's..... maybe when they changed from the Prowler to the Rhino they changed the tickets too?  That should not be legal either.....when you by a raffle ticket for a specific item they can't change their minds on the what to raffle off :S :oo  Granted I would prefer a Rhino over the Prowler but that's NOT the POINT!

I have held Several Raffles over the years and they have to be registered with the state and the winner must also be announced. ALL raffles MUST have a start and end date, that ticket is illigal with the win date to be announced. As I said before if you dont sell enough to cover the expence you still have to raffle the item.

Here is statute read the bottom that is underlined and then come back up and read section 3-d that is underlined.
(849.0935 Charitable, nonprofit organizations; drawings by chance; required disclosures; unlawful acts and practices; penalties.--

(1) As used in this section, the term:

(a) "Drawing by chance" or "drawing" means an enterprise in which, from the entries submitted by the public to the organization conducting the drawing, one or more entries are selected by chance to win a prize. The term "drawing" does not include those enterprises, commonly known as "matching," "instant winner," or "preselected sweepstakes," which involve the distribution of winning numbers, previously designated as such, to the public.

(b) "Organization" means an organization which is exempt from federal income taxation pursuant to 26 U.S.C. s. 501(c)(3), (4), (7), (, (10), or (19), and which has a current determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service, and its bona fide members or officers.

(2) The provisions of s. 849.09 shall not be construed to prohibit an organization qualified under 26 U.S.C. s. 501(c)(3), (4), (7), (, (10), or (19) from conducting drawings by chance pursuant to the authority granted by this section, provided the organization has complied with all applicable provisions of chapter 496.

(3) All brochures, advertisements, notices, tickets, or entry blanks used in connection with a drawing by chance shall conspicuously disclose:

(a) The rules governing the conduct and operation of the drawing.

(b) The full name of the organization and its principal place of business.

(c) The source of the funds used to award cash prizes or to purchase prizes.

(d) The date, hour, and place where the winner will be chosen and the prizes will be awarded, unless the brochures, advertisements, notices, tickets, or entry blanks are not offered to the public more than 3 days prior to the drawing. (e) That no purchase or contribution is necessary.
(4) It is unlawful for any organization which, pursuant to the authority granted by this section, promotes, operates, or conducts a drawing by chance:

(a) To design, engage in, promote, or conduct any drawing in which the winner is predetermined by means of matching, instant win, or preselected sweepstakes or otherwise or in which the selection of the winners is in any way rigged;

(b) To require an entry fee, donation, substantial consideration, payment, proof of purchase, or contribution as a condition of entering the drawing or of being selected to win a prize. However, this provision shall not prohibit an organization from suggesting a minimum donation or from including a statement of such suggested minimum donation on any printed material utilized in connection with the fundraising event or drawing;

(c) To condition the drawing on a minimum number of tickets having been disbursed to contributors or on a minimum amount of contributions having been received;

(d) To arbitrarily remove, disqualify, disallow, or reject any entry or to discriminate in any manner between entrants who gave contributions to the organization and those who did not give such contributions;

(e) To fail to promptly notify, at the address set forth on the entry blank, any person, whose entry is selected to win, of the fact that he or she won;

(f) To fail to award all prizes offered;

(g) To print, publish, or circulate literature or advertising material used in connection with the drawing which is false, deceptive, or misleading;

(h) To cancel a drawing; or

(i) To condition the acquisition or giveaway of any prize upon the receipt of voluntary donations or contributions.

(5) The organization conducting the drawing may limit the number of tickets distributed to each drawing entrant.

(6) A violation of this section is a deceptive and unfair trade practice.

(7) Any organization which engages in any act or practice in violation of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. However, any organization or other person who sells or offers for sale in this state a ticket or entry blank for a raffle or other drawing by chance, without complying with the requirements of paragraph (3)(d), is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable by fine only as provided in s. 775.083.

( This section does not apply to the state lottery operated pursuant to chapter 24.

If everyone who bought a ticket takes them to small claims court to get their money back, they would get it back. The point here is, I think, they would have to pay all court costs when they are proven to be dishonest & that would cost them a couple hundred dollars for every suit.

ex: 150 ticket buyers x $250 court fees = $37,500.00

LCROSS better step the hizell up pretty soon.

At this point even if they held the raffle at the next "event", it would be questionable. They would need to have a neutral party involved to have any creedence. They probably have a bucket with a few hundred of the raffle tickets in it & one of the owners or their employees will pull out a predetermined number of a close friend who wont actually receive the UTV(notice I didnt say rhino or prowler) It might be one of those chinese imports with a custom paint job & rhino graphics installed b4 its all over.
I never liked the sound of this place from day 1 when peoples atvs were getting stolen overnight at their events & their "security" missed it. ???
This is a place full of underage drinking & hellraising as well as, I am sure decent people from all over actually having fun.

Yes they changed the tickets to show the Rhino as the single Prize. I think it is Refund time!!

The fine being a misdemeanor would be a joke,however the amount of monies they have collected puts them well over I think it is grandtheft,OVER $2500?

First off, would like to see some pictures of said wet t-shirt contest.

Secondly, I have never been to L-cross, would I go now knowing about the raffle mishap?  Probably not, nor are the 10 other guys/gals that I ride with in our area.  I would like to hear the other side of the story, but as witnessed probably ain't going to happen.  So I wish all those involved in the raffle good luck in recovering your monies.

I saw on their website that they still need to sell 100 golden tickets.

To cap this whole thing off, we need to see a pic of the owners daughter after the wet tshirt contest driving her new rhino that she won with her single ticket purchase yesterday.... :o

Kind of strange how the owners would allow their daughter to enter a contest likek that. Was the father there watching, that is just plain f'd up if so. Maybe thats how the roll in "Chobee.... ;)

Just checked with my sister who works for the State attorneys office.She was informed by one of the States attorneys we need to file a complaint in the County of occurrence. I don't know if it is Glades or Hendry county.Also may have to file a police report to get the ball rolling.Also mentioned filing complaints with the better business bureau.

The one think that the attorney explained to her is basically "The auction is a promise to give whatever is advertised for that auction to a winner at a predetermined time & date" also " If there are raffle tickets with a prize listed on them than that is the "PROMISE of that Raffle,If they decided to change the PRIZE than the old raffle she be null & voided & refunds issued or replacement tickets given for the new raffle.

So from what I gather L-cross should be responsible for the prizes for both raffles.
1st being a Prowler xt 650 & 2006 Arctic cat
2nd being a 2006 660 Rhino

2006 Arctic cat what?  The Prowler is an Arctic Cat. Seems like they had a typo. They may show up with a 2006 arctic cat 90 ,which is a kymco in disguise, and put a Prowler decal on it ???.....confusing.

 I am REALLY curious to see the outcome of this whole thing, although I did not purchase any of the tickets personally, Those who have bought have been BAM BOOSELED :o

maybe locking their name until they notify a mod that they wish to respond to this thread before they can advertise their events. i know if you do people wrong and then try to advertise with news paper they wont for bad PR.??

If they make any future posts about events I say put a link to this thread in it. Most people would re-think attending an event when you have the owners pulling stuff like this.

I think everyone here is being a little too hard on them. They obviously didn't know the laws when they decided to have the raffle and I'm sure they didn't deliberately set out to screw anyone. I'm a ticket holder and don't mind waiting until they pull themselves together, because I may be the winner of a new machine.

Even with their raffle screw up, I will still attend there events. There organized, safe and have plenty of security keeping the idiots low key. Mark and Patty aren't hiding from anyone, they are always at the front gate when I roll in Friday night and usually by the stage on Sat night during the concert. A guilty person would be invisible to all.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but If you don't want those tickets and want to cash out, why not offer them for sale to people who don't mind waiting with a chance to win a $10,000 machine for $10, $20 or $30 bucks. (in a different tread of coarse)

Half of you people griping about the tickets probably don't even have tickets.

Lets talk about more productive things, like who is going to bring a lawnmower to the next L-Cross event? I usually bring 4 quads on the trailer, 1 65 gallon water tank and 4 coolers in the bed which leaves no room for the mower. The last adult event we had to use a weedeater, which was a pain in the rear. Any constructive input?

I would think if they are offering areas to camp after taking your entry money that they use a bushhog to go over the specified camping area.  Takes very little time and I am sure as legitimate ranchers they own at least one mower and tractor.  Just sayin...

Drunks with push mowers sounds far more entertaining.

This is a business they are running and it is their responsibility to find out the laws before hand, PERIOD!!!!! Seems like several laws have been broken here with nothing done to correct it. They are lucky that nobody has gotten a lawyer or the state involved. I'm guessing that the state will not be too happy about an illegal raffle. Oh and how about the IRS.

Since when has the excuse "I did not know the law" worked for anyone? They know what they are doing or they would have stepped up by now. Their lack of action speaks volumes about their business practices.

I tend to agree with the post above. I have attended several events and they are well organized. As for the raffle I bought 2 tickets and still have them.

I would like to more large land owners provide a safe organized riding area.

I've kept my mouth shut on this one for a while now. However, I've received numerous PM's and E mails from several different people about this issue asking for my professional and personal opinion.

I'll start by saying that the L-Cross representatives need to respond to this thread completely and quickly. In this case, silence is not golden.

Florida's laws on raffles are extremely clear and governed by Chapter 849 Florida Statutes (2007). I do not know the entire story behind the raffle or whether or not L-Cross met all of the qualifications necessary to conduct the same. So, it's impossible for me to determine the legality of the situation. However, assuming all the criteria was met, L-Cross would be clean. If not...well that's a different story.

Again, a reply from L-Cross would likely go a long way to resolving any concern. Two years seems like a long time to me. Had I purchased a lot of tickets, I would be upset and shaking the tress for results.

In regards to the wet t-shirt contest....I said it was the owner's son's girlfriend.  And yes the owner was on stage and he was the judge.  And she took home 1st place.  And he gave her a big hug after announcing her the winner......while she was topless......it was creepy cuz his son was standing up on stage too.   LOL...............freaks

From what I gathered the few times I have been there is they are all about the money not about us. Why do you think he charged so much when the FTR raced there. I was glad to see all the rain and them loose out on the Sunday money. I know the club that put on the race wasn't to pleased with Mark. I think they need to give away a Prowler XT650, 2006 Arctic Cat and a Rhino.

at the rally my dad was really close to buying some of these raffle tickets, i remember asking some lady at the table wat it was for. glad we didnt. hopefully this ends soon.

                   One thing is for sure. This will get resolved! The raffle was an easy way to make alot of fast money on a few busy weekends. It seems they had no clue as to how to run a raffle but that's still not an excuse. At the end of the day they are business people. They can say all they want that their main goal is to provide a fun place to ride but believe me it's the all mighty dollar that drives them. If their only intention was to provide a riding place then they would not need the bands,wet t-shirt contests,etc etc. They do these events to draw a larger crowd to turn a larger profit.I'm not saying that's wrong either,actually it's a smart business decision. Just don't think for a minute that they keep the gates open to be nice or because it's a hobby that they love and they want to share it with everyone. They do it for the money. With that being said you have to now look at it from a business perspective. They will continue to have special event weekends and they have found an effective,cheap,proven way to advertise. "ATV FLORIDA!" They realize that they can not continue to ignore this issue because it will end up costing them revenue,therfore as I said in the beginning of this post "THIS WILL GET RESOLVED" With all the legalities involved in running a business especially one with the liabilities such as this it's a gimme that they have an attorney at hand. My guess is they were advised not to reply to the accusations at least until it's resolved.Someone will win the prize and most likely soon. I'm just curious as to when and how they go about advertising their next event.Do they fess up and apologize for this fiasco or do they continue to dodge the tough questions / accusations and act as if nothing was done wrong? In other words do they act like decent people and admit fault or do they respond as business people? To be continued.

Patricia & Mark ! save some face and respond in some way . These are all hard working people who don't have alot of access money laying around and have lives where every dollar counts. You owe them at least an explination and show them you at least care about the situation and have a resolution in mind.

I don't think they care! I for one will never attend another event there. If I bought raffle tickets I would assume the raffle was being held that weekend. It is hard to swear off a place with so many naked chicks, but I think it is time we all do.I hate the hard choices in life :'(

Like I said in my earlier post "Half of you people griping about the tickets probably don't even have tickets". For that matter.... most of you guys aren't even old enough to buy raffle tickets without mom or dad. Why would you "swear off a place with so many naked chicks" If the situation didn't affect you. So what, they screwed up! They will have the raffle (probably before they are served), get a slap on the wrist and It will be all over. Then we can continue to party with the naked chicks hopfully not having to pay a raised entry fee at the gate to help pay for the attorney fees.

Lets all grow up and let it play out.

So just because I didn't buy tickets I'm not allowed to state my opinion on the subject? I have friends that do have tickets, some posting in this thread and some that haven't. I have attended events out there and I do think it's wrong what has happened out there. As you stated that some aren't old enough to buy raffle tickets they probably aren't old enough to get into the adult events to see any of those naked chicks anyways so they aren't swearing off anything. L-cross is far from being the only gig in town. Until this is resolved I won't be attending any more events. Going to future events knowing they are playing games like this with the raffle is basically giving approval for them to continue to do it.

The smartest thing they can do is end the raffle and give away the Rhino, Prowler, whatever and stick to thier regular events for making money. Till then this thread will just live on forever and more and more people will think twice of going there.

(a) "Drawing by chance" or "drawing" means an enterprise in which, from the entries submitted by the public to the organization conducting the drawing, one or more entries are selected by chance to win a prize. The term "drawing" does not include those enterprises, commonly known as "matching," "instant winner," or "preselected sweepstakes," which involve the distribution of winning numbers, previously designated as such, to the public.

(b) "Organization" means an organization which is exempt from federal income taxation pursuant to 26 U.S.C. s. 501(c)(3), (4), (7), (, (10), or (19), and which has a current determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service, and its bona fide members or officers.

(2) The provisions of s. 849.09 shall not be construed to prohibit an organization qualified under 26 U.S.C. s. 501(c)(3), (4), (7), (, (10), or (19) from conducting drawings by chance pursuant to the authority granted by this section, provided the organization has complied with all applicable provisions of chapter 496.

(d) The date, hour, and place where the winner will be chosen and the prizes will be awarded, unless the brochures, advertisements, notices, tickets, or entry blanks are not offered to the public more than 3 days prior to the drawing. (e) That no purchase or contribution is necessary.
(4) It is unlawful for any organization which, pursuant to the authority granted by this section, promotes, operates, or conducts a drawing by chance:

(a) To design, engage in, promote, or conduct any drawing in which the winner is predetermined by means of matching, instant win, or preselected sweepstakes or otherwise or in which the selection of the winners is in any way rigged;

(b) To require an entry fee, donation, substantial consideration, payment, proof of purchase, or contribution as a condition of entering the drawing or of being selected to win a prize. However, this provision shall not prohibit an organization from suggesting a minimum donation or from including a statement of such suggested minimum donation on any printed material utilized in connection with the fundraising event or drawing;

(c) To condition the drawing on a minimum number of tickets having been disbursed to contributors or on a minimum amount of contributions having been received;

(d) To arbitrarily remove, disqualify, disallow, or reject any entry or to discriminate in any manner between entrants who gave contributions to the organization and those who did not give such contributions;

(e) To fail to promptly notify, at the address set forth on the entry blank, any person, whose entry is selected to win, of the fact that he or she won;

(f) To fail to award all prizes offered;

(g) To print, publish, or circulate literature or advertising material used in connection with the drawing which is false, deceptive, or misleading;

(h) To cancel a drawing; or

(i) To condition the acquisition or giveaway of any prize upon the receipt of voluntary donations or contributions.

(5) The organization conducting the drawing may limit the number of tickets distributed to each drawing entrant.

(6) A violation of this section is a deceptive and unfair trade practice.

(7) Any organization which engages in any act or practice in violation of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. However, any organization or other person who sells or offers for sale in this state a ticket or entry blank for a raffle or other drawing by chance, without complying with the requirements of paragraph (3)(d), is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable by fine only as provided in s. 775.083.

( This section does not apply to the state lottery operated pursuant to chapter 24.

Cheeseburger? That is the least of my worries. Seeing him riding his quad around with just a leopard skin thong on was enough for me to never go riding with him again.

They called back and I talked to Mark, he said if they sell enough tickets then the raffle will be held at the next event. It will be decided on the last day, if they don't sell enough to cover the cost of the Rhino then everyone present that bought a ticket will be refunded the money. But you must attend that event to recieve a refund.

First off, they didn't steal anyones money. I don't believe they said that they were not going to complete the raffle and not offer refunds. I'm not afraid to call them, but I feel no need to. She has debated with several people on here in the past.The difference from then until now is "THEY ARE WRONG"!!! Their acting like cowards as far as I'm concerned. They have three options. 1, Admit the raffle was poorly handled. 2, Defend their actions and explain their intentions or 3, Act like dishonest cowards. They obviously have shown their true colors. I remember when a member had his quad stolen overnight at an event a year or so ago & Mrs L-Cross was defending their place to the hilt. I knew then I would never go there. If you cant sleep without fear of losing your posessions that you work hard for & cost several thousands of dollars, then why ever go.
If I wanted to see naked chics, I will go to a strip bar. I have seen the naked pics from lcross & have yet to see anything impressive, except one pic of a camel-toe under a c-section scar you could drive a rhino thru and clear on both sides. That one scarred my eyes for life. The impressive thing was she wasnt arrested for assault!!!

Greenmachine, just keep in mind that you better keep your quad locked up and at home. Because if you camp and ride, it has potential to get stolen anywhere. How many time have you heard of quads stolen at big scrub, croom and many other riding areas.

I always will have my quads locked up beleive that. I am just saying, since lcross is a closed environment with a gate & supposedly someone manning it at all times to prevent them from losing money to people who try to sneak in, that shouldnt have happened.
I will start camping when i get an enclosed trailer or hauler.
These are my opinions & I am aware that thieves are everywhere.

In March of 2006 L-Cross decided to hold a raffle for a Artic cat. We were going to sell tickets for $10.00 each, for every 5 you bought at one time you received an additional one for free. There were a total of 1,500 to do this with. After 8 months of trying to sell the tickets we had only sold 273. We were asked by our customers to change the raffle from an Artic cat to a Rhino. After 3 months of advertising on our site and this one, we posted anyone who wanted a refund could have one. If not they could  hold on to the original tickets and they would be honored in the new rhino drawing. In order to get out of the agreement we had with the Artic cat dealership we gave them all of the money that was collected so far. We started fresh with 1,000 tickets for the Rhino drawing in November of 2006 the #'s are 500 - 1,000. We have less than 100 tickets left and will be having the raffle in December in public on the L-Cross stage and one Lucky winner will win the 2007 Rhino that we have advertised for the past 11 months. We have not done anything wrong. The negative posts have not helped ticket sales that's for sure.It is not unusual that high dollar prizes take a year to sell all of the tickets. Also, remember we are only open 17 times a year to sell these tickets. It is not like we are open 7 days a week for business and can sell these tickets every day. Yes, we were ready to suck it up as you say regardless of how many tickets were sold and had the machine there to give it away at the ATV Rally had attendance been greater than it was. But, with only 700 people in attendance at that event and 10% of that going to Shawn & Paul we were barely able to cover the expenses for that event. We had to cover toilets, security, entertainment,insurance and many more expenses. So, with fuel prices being what they are, we have made it thru another year and have tried to give all of you a safe place to come with families every month and 5 times a year without your children and be sure that there are not any families that are offended by beads, etc. We have only done the best we can do with our business and will continue to make improvements as time goes on.

As far as not responding in a timely fashion to this thread, I have been with my sister in Ft Lauderdale as she has had colon cancer surgery and if any of you know someone who has had this surgery you know it is something you need alot of support with. Therefore, yes someone alerted me to this, I read it and I thought it was the same thing that has been going on with the same people as usual. However, now that I am home and have time to read it I understand how it is easy to get caught up in all of this if you do not know Mark & I. I hope I have set some of the record straight. I truly apologize for the raffle taking so long. We advertised that we would raffle the Rhino when all 1,000 tickets were sold and anyone wanting a refund had 90 days to get one. All tickets that have been sold will be honored and we will do this raffle in December on the Stage in Public for everyone to see. L-Cross is a family owned and operated business and we have always done everything by the book! The raffle will be held at the adult event on Saturday night December 29th!

So the raffle will come to an end this December. I am satisfied with the response from Patti as long as this occurs.I am sure it was and is frustrating for L-cross but also to us as consumers who bought tickets for this never ending seems like raffle.

We have seen through the years events that you continually make improvements & add things to improve the park. That was never an issue.The raffle was. I for one will be happy when somone wins the prize.

You say you were asked by your customers to change the prize? Was that everyone who bought a ticket?If not it's illegal to change the prize.You say that in order to get out of the agreement with Artic Cat you had to give them all the money collected.How can you give them someone elses money?That's illegal.What about the people that bought tickets only because they wanted the Artic Cat? They didn't give you money because they wanted to win a Rhino. By law you're supposed to have a specific time set for the drawing. You say you were prepared to "suck it up" and give it away at the Rally but you did not because you only had 700 people attend? Then you obviously were NOT prepared to "suck it up"! Suck it up means that you were prepared to give it away even at a loss.How can you come on here and say you did nothing wrong?That's amazing to me.This was your chance to save face and instead you do nothing but make up excuse after excuse even when it's black and white that the raffle was not done to the standards of the law. That makes you come across as being arrogant. The only legitimate excuse you have for anything is your sisters illness.Yes I know first hand about the effects of having a loved one with colon cancer and for that I have sympathy.As for the other stuff your wrong. You lost a lot of respect and future income from certain members and readers of the site and deservingly so. Admitting making mistakes and apologizing goes a lot farther than denial and arrogance does.Greed is never a good thing. How long before you plug your next event?

WOW, I didn't expect that response. We advertised for 90 days that any one not wanting to participate in the raffle after changing the prize from an artic cat to the rhino could receive a refund. We still have all of the money that was paid to us for the raffle. Do you not think I can write a check to the dealer out of our personal business?  We have said MANY, MANY times how sorry we were for this to take so long. We have also said we would NEVER have another raffle. What part of that did you not understand. As for plugging another event, we have 2 for the month of December. The family event will be December 14th-16th.  The adult redneck games event will be December 28th-30th. That is when we will have the drawing for the raffle. I'm sorry, we made a mistake trying to do something to promote our park and give a great prize away as well. What else can I say??? This is another learning experience for Mark and I have we learned?? YOU BET!!!!

You proved my point and in record breaking time I might say. Your sarcastic apology  " sorry for trying to promote our park and give away a great prize" says it all. No admitting to wrong doing or sincere apology will ever come from the all mighty Pearce family. I'm quite sure you can write a check from your personal buisness.No need to flaunt the fact.Heck a few more raffles and you can buy your own Island.Of course you would have to charge an exuberant entry fee to cover all of the expenses.How about responding to the statute for having a raffle that someone posted previously and then tell us again how you did nothing wrong. Keep playing the rightous land owner with good intentions role and I'm sure soon enough everyone will buy into it. As I stated before, " I am not one of those who purchased tickets", But I am glad to see a response from L-cross to the matter !!!!

OK, we wrote a check to the dealer from our own personal checking account equivalent to the amount for the tickets sold for the arctic cat. We have not spent the money that is to be used to purchase the Rhino. I guess i should have made myself perfectly clear on that point.

So let me get this straight, you didnt ever get an Arctic Cat, sold approximately 500 tickets & gave the A.C. dealer a check in that amount.
In essence you gave up approximately $5,000.00 of your own money to a dealer who never delivered an arctic cat to you?
That is how it sounds. ???
Just make sure Bushwacker draws the ticket for the raffle & all will be good.
Unless your kids win it, then it would get really crazy.

All I can say to this whole thing is WOW! I work very hard for my money and after this whole thing going down, you will never get any of my hard earned money that I have worked for. There are other places to go riding. If someone else wants to give you there money that they worked so hard for during the week that is there own decision. Just my personal opinion.

I will share the above opinion. I will not Participate or contribute to anything having L-Cross related. Several issues have contributed to my decision not just the Raffle Fiasco.

I am anxious to find out if it will be a member of one of the atv sites that wins the drawing or if it will be "A MYSTERIOUS STRANGER". I have a guess but I'll be nice.
