Is this track small like 1/8 mile ? A friend said that it may be the go cart track next to the MX?  What kind of speeds are you getting around this track?  Just looking for a little more info because its a long way to come up to race with you guys and I would like to have some idea.  Does anyone have any pictures they could post?  Thanks fella flat trackers.

yes it is 1/8 mile long. I am not sure how fast we go it is a good speed. we have about 6 to 8 riders and would like to have more. we only have one class right now because lack of perticipation.

OK, Chris I just got of of the phone with Jermey the #5 yfz that I guess won out there a few weeks ago. I will try to gather up a few uf us down south here and schedule a date that we all can make it.  Give us about 3 or 4 weeks to plan a trip and I will see how many of us can make it. Let me know the time they let you in the track and how much $ to race.

Get up a date, and we will go.  ;D

I went to that site and checked the photos and seen Jermey picture on there the #5. Cool    Does anyone have any pictures of the track that they can post?

Also about how long does the racing last into the night out there. 10,11,12pm.... :-/     It is a long drive home and I might need to find a hotel      

most of the time i think they are done around8:00...anyone have a crf/xr style pit bike that would be int in racing the flattrack...we have a smusa pit bike and would like some practice before the ocala race sunday...

latley were done about 9. now that there are a few 4yo racers. it spreads out the heats some.
more more bikes we get the more classes we will have..

Ok I have about 6 guys that are intrested in comming up. We will set the date to come race April 2nd.  Hope everything will work out and we will see and meet you guys and gals on that weekend.     8)        Matt #18

I ran a 20 laper at Hendy and was   [smiley=Ouch.gif] [smiley=Dead.gif] after the checkers.
That night was 5 practice laps, 12 lap heat, and 20 lap main.... :P

The laps are not the same every race night.
Depends on how many people show up. Colin, the race "promotor" wants you to get your moneys works so sometimes if there isnt alot of bikes he will make the races longer. They are usually 6-8 laps.

looks like we might start getting the turn out we need more, more, racers. there is only one problem with that the last time we had a few racers wares bike just somehow broke, is it because he is getting scared or what each race them clermont boys were getting a little closer to him and then bang, oh no my motor blew up now it is I have a leak. I think it is them clermont boys coming for that a$$.

Fastltz2, quad32x, and I are all friends. We talk a ton of trash to each other but were all laughing when were typing. So dont get scared off thinking were a bunch of jerks (well, fastltz is but nevermind that  ;) )
heck! even 1fast250r has jumped in on the trashin.....
If you show up sat night you will see we all a bunch of good guys..

Nothing like some good ol trash talking!!! What is it that smoke dog says about it...?  Well looks like the Ware teem can back it up.    But dont get comfortable up front because on the 2nd of April there will be some good old boyz from down south commin to take away that first place trophy.

Dont ignore me.... :'(      J/K  Hey I havnt meet you guys yet but it seems that everyone is good friends or buddys having some fun.... 8)  Once you meet me you will find out that Im the same way.   Unfortunatly (sp) I live so freakin far away that I cant make it up there that often.  But if the flat track ever opens up back down here I will let you know. Trust me it was fast. 65 to 70 in the strights and nice and wide turns with plenty of side by side racing.  

Looks like I may have another one comming with me.

I race a 330r. I don't even want to try and post all my flat track trophies like 1 slow 250r did. Let's just say i've done this before. Hey! What's this crap with jeremy runnin a #5? He better change that when I show up. Maybe he just wants to be like me? Na he would have bought the Honda! Hope to meet all you guys next month. ya same old story my bancheez is the fastest thing on four wheels. My observation is too much portwork jetting nightmare. Rigid rear too much wheel spin. Spending money trying to beat the Hondas useless. Only ever saw one bancheez that was any good on the flat track. short swingarm was probably the key ingredient. Ware I just like to bust the balls of the bancheez boys cause they always think they have the fastest bikes. you seem to be an o.k. tool so I am gonna give you hell till we meet up in a couple of weeks. This place actually sounds like a 4 stoke track so jeremy might school us all. He has to get a good holeshot though. ??do you guys do a standing or rolling start?? Does everyone have to run flat track tires or do we have guys with knobbies winging dirt at us when we lap them? Did you say 6 to 8 lap races? better get a good start huh?

  i think you missed the part where i said i have a full flat track set up. i run hoosiers. not nobbies... im 250 lbs no wheel spin here.. this 421cc stroker can run. I have yet to be beat by a 4 stroke.. Linc, and my brother are the only 2 bikes that have beat me (correct me if im wrong gary) and what do they ride BANSHEE"S!! 9 races 5 [smiley=trophy1.gif] 2 [smiley=trophy2.gif] and 1  [smiley=trophy3.gif]. and there was my last place finish... however i led every lap in every heat.. then i spun on the last lasp of the A main.. talk about a heart breaker... but i think that speaks for it self.. most times in the ONLY 2 stroke running!!

My brother has a fairly quick banshee.
One day at saltsdale  (drag races) my brother draw tim (quad32x) as his firstperson to race.
Needless to say when my brother hit 3rd gear. tim was GONE!
All my brother had to say was "holy $hit thats a fast bike"!
It sucks a single cylinder baike could have put such a beating on a twin but it happened...

On a serious note do you just set the rules on the begining of the night on the amount of quads that show up of what?
If someone dont mind answering a few questions for us please.

1. How many quads on the track in a heat race?
2. How many laps do you run or is it riders choice at the begining of the night?
3. How do you start the race? Standing start with a flag or a light to start or rolling pace to start?
4. How much $ to race and how much $ for spectators?
5. Is there a concession stand on site?

1, Depends i think if there are more than 8 it should be split up. its a small track, no one wants to get DEAD!

2. Depends again, on how many riders usuakkt 6-8 heats 10-12 main.

3, Traffic light,  when it turns green you go, there is a flag man as well.

4, 10 to get in for everyone, 20 to race ( if you dont have a membership you will need one) i think that 10-15...

5, Big consession stand by the MX track.

Ware, I love racing. As for the rest of the boyz commin with me. We can only wait and see if they like racing on that track then that will be the tell tail sign if they want to come back for more. If they like it than we can see if they want to race once or twice a month. Go from there.  8)

One guy that raced with us had a mishap on the track when the #5 spun out right in front of him and his friends that where there said it looked like #5 did it on purpose.... [smiley=Wacko.gif]
After the race was over they were a little pissed and said why were you trying to take him out.... [smiley=Wacko.gif]
So we make fun at #5 all the time about it.
I think the #5 probley is one of the best riders I have seen. My .02  You will see from his hole shot what I am talking about. I have never beat him of the line unless he was in the 2nd row. Then the little bassturd comes out of turn 2 in like in 2nd place.

WTF that is way too much of a two finger typing story for me.

ware,just wanted to say that 1fast,#5,and myself and the others that are coming from naples are all very responsible riders,a few a bit crazy,but you got to be a little crazy to race one of these things anyway

I can see running heats A, b, c, d, but what are we going to do for the main.
Personally i think putting 14 bikes on that track at the same time is suicide on that little track! So, are we going to do eliminations?
In other words 10 make it to the A main?

Yea I would say do it like that. Besides why would you want to mess up the fast guys in the main anyway if you did poorly in the previous events.

Well,
1.  you can run a 4 stroke and 2 stroke class
2. Run  A and B classes.
3. Run heats and take the top 4 from each heat and run A and B mains and take the top 2 out of the B main and run the A main.

Well, with all you guys and my family were pretty much all 2 strokes. there would be roughly 4-5   4 bangers out there. so i think that would suck for them...But i like your #3 idea about eliminations..  i would like to see as many people race as possiable but with that many bikes you would be fighting traffic all night ever seen a briston race after lap 50? you get the idea you cant tell who is first or last. plus  martha (the scorer) might get confused with that many out there at once...

Geez... that hurt... one little wreck!! ONE! and you guys arnt ever going to let me live it down! plus my brother said he thought he came down on me! so there!!

I say  the night we were there with 8 that was about the max I think should be on that track but I hope to come join in on some of this action

Go with the #3 everyone will be happy and get to race all night.
6 Quads on the track at a time.
Number of riders to be deturmaned at the time of racing

Run 2 or 3 heats, Take the top 3 or 4 depends on the amount of riders turn out. then that will set the Main with the rest of the riders run a B main. Take the top 2 or 3 winers from the B main and let them run in the A main.


Done.    or start a pole on here and let the riders decide?  :-/

Here comes trouble tecate mike is finally gonna show up! All right about time. you got all the bugs worked out of that thing? Did you move to tampa? This will be right in your backyard. As for your situation ware - let me tell you I have taken this sport very seriously. I have tried as hard as I can every race. You know what everyone remembers? I've spun twice and put two people in the Hospital. Well i've spun more than twice. But it takes two to tango. Both of these guys made bad desicions that put themselves in the hospital. Simply hitting the brakes and checking up would have changed the outcome but they both tried to race by me and wound up on their heads. Don't think anyone who reads these posts "NO CHANCE WOULD ANYONE OF US DELIBERATLY OR WILLFULLY PUT OURSELVES OR ANYONE ON OR AT THE TRACK IN HARMS WAY" If it was safe it wouldn't be any fun. I race to win every time but we all have jobs and families that really come first. enough said.

i think working your way into the main is reasonable if we have more than 10 bikes. 3 heats of 4 or 5 bikes would be cool. no A,B, or 4 stroke sled class is neccesary. a B main is a good way for the slower riders to compete for a win without wanna be grand national TT racers cuttin them off in the first turn. Man I Love the first lap of a race.
I guess I should shut up now I'm a little wound up I have been in the hospital with my son for the last 24 hrs and he is still there. Hope he can come home tuesday morning. His airway was restricting sun. nite and he was struggling for breath. Way scarier for me than the time I hit the wall coming out of turn 2 and tumbled down the backstretch in practice. Which I might add all of my  fellow racers donated parts and time to get me into the race that nite. Finished 2nd outta about 10. Hope my boy is as lucky as I am.

$10 on thrusdays, no restrictions on tires, tether cord is a big 10-4! gearing run a 12-42 that should get you around the track quick! if you have a fairly stock shee youll need the bottom end..

Someone needs to call up Dade City and tell them to add another 1/8 mile to there track so we can run all these quads on the 2nd... :o     :)
