Most of you know this property. Lot's of creek crossings and off-camber crazy stuff through the trees with canals right next to you. If I had to go tomorrow, I'd probably want some good tread for sure! That last race proved you can never be too prepared! With the weather we've been having, I'd plan on some extra tear-off's - hehehe!

New rear break pads, greased out all over, some ride test this weekend and I'm ready for QS#3 ooohhh yeah, and yes Brian a set of big tires just in case lol.

Something you guys might want to try the next time you find yourself in a slop-fest.  ITP makes a tire called the Blackwater and it's available in 20x12-9.  I run a set on my Raptor in late winter and late spring when riding out in the Holeylands and they work fantastic.  In areas where my Holeshots cake up and just spin, the Blackwaters chew their way through.  The only drawback, not that it matters too much for this type of riding, is that it is a heavier tire and you have more unsprung weight.  Of course, you can adjust your rebound and damping to take care of that if it bothers you.  Also, in drier areas with more bite, it can be a little more difficult to break the rear loose if you need to.  They're not too expensive.  You should give it a try, especially if you've got a spare set of rims sitting around.  Here's a picture of them.

i was planning on this being my first race of this season, and still am but, i went to bms today and ask them about a problem i have...so here it is, i have an 05 pred 500 and it hasnt been starting lately cold so i have had to push start it the past two times, but when i get it started and its hot i can turn it off and start it rite back up, but if i let it cool down there is no way, so the guy said he thinks it is my starter teeth have broken off some of the other gear teeth by my fly wheel, sounds like that would do it, but why if that is the problem why does she fire when shes hot???????? im gonna let them look at it he said he will try to have it to me by friday. but last time i had my other quad there it litteraly took TWO months to change the water pump, any ideas???????????????????????????????

bu the way he said the loose teeth can ruin my flywheel if i risk it this weekend, it has had a weird kinda rattle sound lately but its been doing that for months and it will still drive perfect.and if i do risk it i wouldnt be able to do the dead engine start :'(

Does it idle Ok? Sounds like you might need a valve adjustment.

idles fine, i can run it just as hard now vs. when she would start by herself, with no problems or girgleing. im not familiar with valve adjustments is it easy to do???

by the way when i pull start her she needs a little convincing to wake up

I don't know how the valves adjust on a Predator. If you have some mechanical ability and a service manual you should be able to do it. Some applications require you to have shims of various sizes to adjust the valve and some don't.

I know what the problem with your Polaris is. It could easily be fixed if you just switched to a Yamaha  :P :P :P 
I'm with Frank on this one. Get the shop/service manual. The owners manual is not for working on your quad. Find a Polaris website/forum and you'll find like minded people who can walk you through most any situation. Heck, I've even known some who lived close enough where they went over and fixed it for the guy!

so how does this work i was thinking about coming out and trying one? do you go ride it sat and sign up and race sun or what?

you sign up in the morning depending what class your in has an assigned time lot that afternoon to race. its a 2hour scramble.you have to b e a

The races are on Saturday only in both series for the quads.
You can go to the FTR site and download the rules.
Sign-up is Saturday morning. So is practice.
This isn't an AMA sactioned event so you can save a few bucks.
It is a dead engine start with your hands on your helmet. Try to breathe and try not to wreck. Have a great time!

haha i agree to disagree! i got to much money into my bike for mx to change back now haha, but ridin trails is fun thats how i started out. and kind of wanted to go out i got some bikes i need to get rid of 2 z-400s a 440ex and a 250r. i was thinking someone there would want one.

Well, I took my quad for a ride on Saturday to make sure everything is OK, surprise surprise, hub bearings are shot, slave stocked on the axle, sprocket hub damaged, clutch sleeping, nice . . .  it seems like I have some parts to buy this week and make sure is ready for SAT :(  .

It sure does, but I took the other quad for a ride today and it feels really good, I'll have to do some easy changes to get it ready, already adjusted the suspension and it is all good now, but I'll try to fix the other one first. Will see how it goes, i couldn't do much today besides take it all appart to see the damage.

The thing that sucks the most is going to be the shipping. Order from motosport.com and if you order over $100 its free 2nd day shipping.

Thank's for the tip, I have to check, if they have parts for Houser swing arm, and see what clutch do they carry.

i bought all my houser stuff from motosport, my dad is supposed to be taking my pred to the shop tomorrow i explained to the service guy that i have a race this weekend and i would love him forever if he had it ready by then. i love fixing my own stuff almost as much as i love riding, but im not comfy gettin into the engine yet i am praying its ready by then. so i spent my b- day which is today stressing all day about that. i just put a new houser steering stem and clamps on it along with the houser h-bar clamps, trail tech bars and a pro design kill switch on it today. i hope they work fast but i dont really trust my dad to get it there on time, i bug him so much he started yelling at me ,lol, but i have had bad and very very very slow service at barry motosorts before hopefully they prove me wrong this time :( :( :(

just like i thought he didnt take it, well hopefully i will be there in venice, dang this makes me so mad. i got my number today its number 8 and im in c-open

and i was just here thinking about it and i think that mechanic is wrong, it doesnt add up if the gears are stript(strater/fly wheel) it is not going to start hot or cold, but it will start hot. do yuou guys/gals think it could be a weak spark plug since this bike is 2 years old and still has the original spark plug in her. tell me what you think, i do not have a lot of time cause i go to school during the week and work. please help

Pull the plug, its about an hour of your time ( if you dont know what your doing and you count each spin of the bolt) and the plug is about 4 bucks at tops.

well im pretty confident i know what it is, there is a little metal rod by the stater that shoots an electric pulse and i think the metal shavings and debris from the starter gear and the other gears in there from the years of wear and tear have clung to that because it is a magnet and is blocking the signal to come out when the engine is cold, because when the engine is cold the metal has high resistance to the signal coming out and wont let it past. but when warm the matal has low resistance and will let the signal bleed thru which starts the engine. i skipped school today to work on it but the mechanic gave me that idea right before i had to bring my moms car to her so i couldnt fix it, im bummed out :'(. but ill be there nov. 17, take lots of pics and video for all of us who cant make it can watch. thanks ;D

oK...SO very EXCITED about this weekend - nice to be racing CLOSER to home!!!! Myakka is always a great track - we will head over Sat morning...see everyone there!!!!!   :P
