Title: Tate's Hell state recreation area Post by: GrizzlyBear on October 19, 2007, 10:04:49 AM On my way back from Pensacola, I stopped at Tate's Hell. It is on Hwy 67, north of Carabelle. It has been open for about 1 year, it is State run, you need the $50.00 permit, but if you have one for Croom, it is good here. It is a series of old logging roads (150 mile) that are now trails. If you want a wilderness area, this is it.

The place was long ago so soaked up with water that the ground was like a sponge according to the program. Not anymore though.
