Title: 04 Suzuki Vinson 500
Post by: Suzuki Twins on October 02, 2007, 08:00:43 PM
Has anyone had problems with their bike over-heating?  There is plenty of fluid in the radiator. It will ride for a long time, then it will start over heating and I need to shut off the bike and let the fan run for a little bit.  Does anyone know the problem?

You need to clean the radiator out better. Very common in any of the 500cc or bigger ATVs, all it takes is a few fins clogged up with mud and it will overheat.

Take some greased lightning and soak it real good (front and back) let it sit for 10 min and then spray it out thoroughly. You should be good to go.

Also an area that gets really clogged up is where the fan and shroud sit against the radiator. Mud sits back there and is really hard to wash out.
