Title: cooling my engine Post by: canito01 on October 02, 2007, 12:22:13 PM i will like to now if any one has put a special fan on their 400ex honda engine to cool it down when riding slow
Title: Re: cooling my engine Post by: Ida_Mann on October 02, 2007, 04:00:55 PM nope, but some have taken a fan from the Z400 and welded a frame for it to mount right in front of the oil cooler,,,,some have added an oil cooler, some just put the scoops on.
I ride slow a lot,,,,,about 2-4th gear just putting around on the trails and have not had an issue with overheating. I just did this as a second "pusher" fan on my king quad. It does not matter if you have a water cooled motor or not. ANY extra air across the fins is better than none. Also, somethingthat helps the air/fuel mixture is to cover (wrap entirely) the air box in heat reflective tape and make sure the intake is directed toward cool air. Hope this helps, it works on any quad/bike-EZ
