darn kids,,,,,back in my days in high school, the only computers were about one or two per building, and they were the original Mac's that had a 9" screen that was black and white.

Thats funny, I remember in my computer class the teacher was telling us "this stuff I'm teaching you is already so outdated, but I have to teach it anyway". 

yeah, there was a computer class at my high school, but the rules were so restrictive on who got in to it, that you just about needed a letter from a congressman.

My computer class was in the 6th grade(there wasn't a computer in it), they had a program called "the wheel" where you had wood shop class the first 9 weeks, compuer class the 2nd 9 weeks, home economics the 3rd, I can't remember the other one. LOL.

Yea ATVFL is all i do during my comp class, this calss is sooo damn stupids ur all not alone

I want to know how if school starts at 8:50 you can get 5 classes in between then and 12?  Are your classes like 30 minutes each then time to walk to go to your locker and walk to the next class?  I remember when 5th period was at the end of the day after you'd been in school for 5-6 hrs.

Like Nathan I remember those stupid computer classes.  Of course my puter classes were before they had windows.

They didn't have computers when I was in school. LOL

the closest thing to a computer when i was in school was pong on an old atari game console.man that game was stupid lol

ya bunch of whiners  ;)  we had windows when I was in hight school.  Only they were the kind you open and shut to get a breeze.  We had calculators and slide rules, no computers.  Microfiche was available for library look up.  (Yes, they had graduated from the abacus, I am not THAT old)

Nasa was the only place that had computers when I was in school... and my calculater is faster than what they had.... and I think I still have your mac, Ida... a IIC

Ah yes, good old microfiche.  I had forgotten about that.  We had calculators but weren't allowed to use them.  I'm somewhere between the abacus and calculator generation.  Not only would the school not allow us to use them.  My mom wouldn't let me use one either.  She was a believer in doing it the long way so you learned how to think through problems to solve them.

No whining at all.  I was too busy playing sports to want a computer.  It was a required class.

Breakfast/Entry - 7:30 - 7:40
1st period - 7:43 - 8:50
2nd period - 8:55 - 9:45
3rd period - 9:50 - 10:40
4th period - 10:45 - 11:35
5th period - 11:40 - 12:30
6th period - 12:35 - 1:25
7th period - 1:30 - 2:20

EDIT: I was going to post during 5th but the teacher made me shutoff my computer cause I was on myspace.  It's not allowed and I was using a proxy lol.

at my school theres about 30 computer in one class and theres only about 18-20 student in there fun class though it electrical wiring :o lol

my school day lasts til 240, but i got OJT, which is work release, but my last period of the day is a computer class, its required to graduate, but all i do is look at muddin videos, and surf ATVFL, its nice leaving at 1230 tho

When I took computers in High School we had punch cards and vacuum tubes! Plus, we had to walk 15 miles to and from school...up hill, both ways!

  When I was in school, we had to do everything on paper. Computers was something you only saw in space movies. I bought a laptop, and all I know how to do with it is check e-mails, and watch movies with computers in them!!

Did you have to put cardboard in your shoes because of holes too? 

Shoes? I grew up in Kentucky. We didn't have that type of "modern technology" back then.

the IIc was allright, but I liked the Tandy versions,,,,,I had the CoCo line of computers,,,,,I had the CoCoI, CoCoII and, the CoCoIII which had the upgrade package that maxed out the board with 640K of RAM, a dual 5 1/4" floppy drive, and I found an old 20" TV to hook it up to for video,,,,,I was the coolest kid programming BASIC that I knew ;-)

My school is weird, if you go on a proxy the computer locks and can never be used again. Anyone eles with this ?

maybe the school's software notices the popular proxy server addresses and does that intentionally.

Yea I guess. I dont go on proxys and myspace in school. Just atvfl if Im bored. We already have 2 locked up computers in the school because of proxy`s though.

on the first picture, the one in the middle is a Tandy CoCo computer,,,,,had them all ;-)

I'm currently in my webdesign class now, working like a mofo.  I havent really done anything for a week.  But its just creating simple 123 pages lol.  I can catch up in a period or less.  I <3 this class.

I love changing the background.  We dont have the ability to left click on the desktop, or have any icons.  Everyone asks "Dude how did you changing the background?" :Approve.gif

You guys sure have a way of making one feel old. In MY day computers were not even on the drawing board - in school we had to actually use books and the only thing we got chided for was looking up the girls skirts, which by the way, still seems preferable to doing what I'm doing at the moment .....

Lol with how short skirts are nowadays, theres no need to look up a skirt. :D

no we dont do work, we just figure out how to not do work, and break dwn the schools firewalls lmao, my 10th grade yr i hacked into my old schools network and changed everyones grades lmao

I had an old TRS ("Trash") 80 back int he day. I can still remember how to write in Basic, Cobalt, C++, SAS...etc.  Man am I dating myself.

why would we? i just looked at my grades through the school network and realized i'm actually doing good except for my english grade which is way low.......

i stayed home today...im actually sick for once lol


my school is lame i good though because we have block scheduling

4th

and then schools over
but since our school is a "technical school" we dont have autobody or shop class we have like...engineering and other lame crap like that

but to get on other things you just need to find proxy sites

I dont think its blocked for anyone?  Things blocked at my school are myspace, anything related to AOL, etc... lol.  Basically any fun things. 

there was a kid that was super smart at my high school, I felt bad for him because he was abotu 10 years old and going to high school,,,,,,he spent a year and a half there and passed everything,,,,,transferred to UCF and wasn't there for about a year when he hacked their network and got kicked out.

an awesome opportunity down the train because he was playing with something he shouldn't have.
