Unless you have a problem you shouldn't have to turn off the gas. The needle valve atached to the float should stop the flow once the bowl is full.

i usually turn mine off but sometimes i forget and it doesnt make a difference. it dont leak gas or flood or anything. starts the same all the time. i know very few people that turn theirs off. most leave it on. my street and dirt bikes start the same either way. so do the quads.

the needle valve can become worn and gas will leak past it

Yes it can. That means there is a problem.

if you ever take apart your carb to clean it or re-jet, look for wear like this...

It's tough to see in that picture, but a good example.

I always turn mine off and run all the gas out of the carb.

I always turn it off and run til out of gas cause I usually ride very lil in summer but if the gas becomes crystilized it save you the trouble of disassembling the carb to clean it just my .02 I have never had to just take it apart to clean it out. Hope it helps

I have a friend that had a banshee a whle ago. It had quite a bit of work done, and it was relatively fast but it always was a pain to get started. We ran a compression test and that solved it, he needed a rebuld. Clean your carbs very good a thorough, if this doesn't do the trick it might be time for a rebuild. Don't let that scare you though a full rebuild kit (pistons, rings, and gasket) WILL RUN ABOUT $130 which isn't much as long as you know how to do the labor.... How old is she? Is she really easy to kick over?

i did the check..120 each side..i found out its my choke..it doesnt work at all..i dont know why not though..it doesnt affect idle speed once it finally starts..but now its nearly impossible to start without quick start..the choke can be pulled way out and pulls itself bak in the carb
