Title: Re: music editor question. Post by: NYRAPTOR on September 11, 2007, 08:18:17 PM i downloaded some free dj mixing sostware. you can scratch and mix music together and stuff. if you try to burn it to a cd though, they ask you to buy the "gold package". its still fun to mess around. it was "ots turntables" or "ots labs" i dont know if you can take out the vocals though.
Title: Re: music editor question. Post by: Fox17 on September 11, 2007, 08:46:28 PM thanks, ill look into that. i want to take the vocals out of some songs and make videos out of them but with the sound from the video. not someone singing.
Title: Re: music editor question. Post by: Bigscrb15 on September 11, 2007, 09:18:17 PM it is hard to take vocals out. I did 1 song that sounded decent a while ago. Forgot which program I used. For general audio editing I use Cool Edit Pro. I think it is called Adobe Audition now. You have to have the right kind of audio file and mix the inverted left channel with the right channel to form a mono file. You then split them back into stereo and most of the audio will be gone. I think that is how its done, can't remember off the top of my head. There are a few programs out there that do it automatically. Just gotta remember that just about any other sounds in the same range as the vocals will also be gone.

As long as you are using it to remove those satan inspired lyrics from rock music I'm sure it will be overlooked on judgement day.
