Title: Re: xc scene Post by: floydamus on September 09, 2007, 08:49:52 PM yea ive been readin up on the ftr series. ive done a bunch or fast trail ridin but never raced. ive also messed around on mx tracks. ive been off my quad for awhile because i took it back to nc because i just never really rode it down here but im lookin into pickin up a new yfz and start back to ridin. from talkin to some racers at vero florida is one of the hardest places to ride because of how whooped out it gets so fast. i can keep up with my bud back home in the woods with him 250 r and hes been finishing in atleast the top 20 of all his races this year, as long as he don't break. so hopefully with practicing here in the sandy whooped out mess of florida i can do well everywhere else. i want to be back on a sport and ridin some trails by december but well see i want the 08 se yfz but only lookin to spend 7g so i might settle on a base model.

Title: Re: xc scene Post by: floydamus on September 09, 2007, 09:58:02 PM he races all the can am gncc events his name is will can't think of his last name right now for some reason. he from back home in NC. rides a old red 250r and gets the damn job done he was in Pa last weekend and hit a rock bent his skid plate and broke his chain. he'll be in NY this weekend. I'm also going to be looking for someone to maybe ride to some of these out of state events with. IL probably going try to hit 5 of the main stream gncc event next season. Ive been apart of the site almost a year and a half rode for a bit down here with my kfx400 didn't like the riding as far as mx but like the decent trail systems so i took the bike back to NC to my parents to have one to ride there when visiting. but since i got some good freind racing gncc and i like the sport I'm going to try my hand at it as well.

Not too many places to ride where I live(none), but I imagine there is a lot more over where you do. What class in the GNCC would run? I did two this year and it was awesome. I just can't afford to do any more. The FTR races will be a lot of fun. Now we have our ownquad only series. As of now, you can still run the hare scrambles, too. So there is a TON of riding to be had if you want it. You have a local club over there with a lot of really cool people in it. I thnk they have private land they ride weekends on. Sarasota Area Quad Riders. Those 08 KTM's look pretty good and are getting good reveiws. The YFZ is still Top Dog, though. For now. Don't now what I was thinking when I thought I'd switch back to Can-Am?? Title: Re: xc scene Post by: floydamus on September 12, 2007, 08:39:09 AM ill probably run c class im not that good lol. yea i was refered to sarasota dirt riders and im going to my first meeting next month. yea i can't afoord that many of the gncc races either that why i wana find soemoen that don't mind car poolin up to soem of them to split cost becasue i wana do both nc races snowshow if they do it again and the indiana race . this may change before next season depening on amoutn of car poolers lol. yea i wana do the ftr series just haven't purchased the new bike yet hopefully my next tuesday . then i gotta get soem nerfs and more boots and ill be ready

I belong to Sarasota Area Quad Riders. We're a small club but we have alot fun. We are currently working on the land where we are going to hold our November 17th race. If you're interesting checking out our club I can PM you with some info. SADRA is mostly dirt bike guys and galsand they are a pretty good sized club. We are mainly a quad club, though we welcome dirt bikes as well. SADRA is putting on a Quad Scramble in Myakka City, I think the date for their race is Dec. 2nd. So if you join them and become an active member and participate helping them prep for their races you'll get some ride time and earn they're respect as a 'quad' guy. Of course you could join SADRA and Sarasota Area Quad Riders get to ride even more. Club membership is cheap!! Some items to put on your list of goodies for your new quad if you are going to race in FTR are a tether kill switch and if you are going to change the stock exhaust for an aftermarket one you have to run a spark arrrestor silencer and meet the 96 db sound limit. This will be my second season in FTR and the quad scrambles are ton of fun. The people that race in the quad series are some of the best folks you'll ever meet. Hope you see you out there.
