Wanting to head out to Croom's for the first time... how much of a stickler are they - I saw posted somewhere the quads have to be under 500 lbs and 45 inches wide....  mine is a 450 Utility quad that is a few inches and about 100 lbs over....  I know they check VIN but do they actually measure????

never seen them measure a quad and they dont weigh them, but its also 50" not 45, if u give them the vin # and their 50$ u get a sticker and your good to go, just remember to wear a helmet, go slow in parking areas and dont ride double unless the quad is made for it, other than that have fun and you should be fine

a lil hint, if u ever think your lost, just head in one direction and u will find a fence and you can follow it back to a parking area

I always confuse the names too, it should be called "whoopville", it's Ok on a dirt bike but I don't care for it on a quad, IMO.

it's like 2nd,3rd,2nd,3rd, 2nd,3rd, I'm lucky to get into 5th or 6th, maybe the one sandy trail along the back fence I could & the pit is about it. But I guess beggers can't be choosers.

Use to be able to rip it up on the trail/road that go's along the interstate years ago, untill the little girl was riding on the left side of the road, over the hill & into a truck bumper.

Croom was alot more fun about 15 yrs ago before EVERYONE found out about ATV'S!! Now it just like everywhere else overcrowded with IDIOTS!!!I remember when you could show up Friday night late and pick which camp site you wanted.Not anymore

If any of you remember this name for Croom you're really showing your age.....like me. Ha ha!   ;)

There is a form that you fill out for a title at the Tax Collectors office . One of the options is made from parts. You can get a title and the title # is all Croom would require.

Wasn't there a place on the east side of 75 for dune buggies, I think it was part of Croom but can't remember.

Yes there was! I don't think it was actually part of Croom but, it was a separate area that you could ride around in dune buggies, etc. I will think of the name of it in a bit and post it.

Also, do you or anyone else remember the kick butt MX track just west of Croom? It was HUGE and a ton of fun in the 80's.

Yep I raced at that track 125 class
 I had a big drop off on the east side of the track
and the north end (down hill) was all sugar sand and a long strait uphill to the last corner.   

I never rode that track but i think it's still there, i think it's a private track.
It's on the other side of the fence on the west side if were talkin about the same track, it is awesome, last time I went I just stopped by the fence & there was a guy tearin it up on a dirt bike, had his truck parked in the middle of the track w/ a girl taking pics. of him,
maybe his mom,wife or g.f. IDK.
I was just wonderin how he got back there to that track, it's huge, a lot of clay.

Yep, thatwas the track. I rode it once in the 1980's on a 200x. We were only on it for around and hour when we were told it was private and asked to leave. Been a long time since I was there.

do we need a florida title sticker?

 like said above, $50.00 your VIN # & you get a sticker, when you get to the guard shack, pull off to the parking places on your right so you don't block the entrance, walk up to the window, give them your $,#'s & they'll give you your sticker that I think is suppose to go on the left side of the front of your frame (not on your rear fender like the registration sticker), I think so the next time you go you can kinda drive thru & they can see your sticker easily, I've seen people w/ 20' enclosed trailers drive thru & just wave & the guard just waves back, I was thinkin to myself how do they know whats in that trailer  ???.

Unless there regulars that go there all the time maybe & they know them or somethin.

does hunting season effect croom

no, no gun hunting allowed in Croom, one ranger said that croom was open to bow hunters before and after riding hours, but that was about 4 years ago and haven't seen any out there since

Do they charge extra to camp or do you just go in and grab a spot?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a place to go with my son and his friend for a weekend camp/ride trip. You all say Croom is crowded, but I dont see many other good choices in fla. How crowded is it? Im sure weekends are but we can still get a camping spot and ride and have fun cant we? I have never been so you all tell me please.........

$15 a night to camp.
