Elite Resort 1800-356-2460 http://www.eliteresorts.com/SaltSprings.htm Elite Resort 25250 east highway 316, Salt Springs, FL 32134 salt springs reservation for camping http://www.reserveusa.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/fl/ssra/newpksit es.html 1-877-444-6777 for phone reservations as of 1/6/05 there are still campsites available Palatka, while not as large as Ocala is only about twenty minutes away from Rodman Palatka has several motels: Best Western 386-325-7800 Budget Inn 386-328-1533 Economy Inn 386-325-2455 Holiday Inn 386-328-3481 Oaks Motel 386-328-1545 Pakmetto Motel 386-325-2812 Rivercrest Motel 386-328-1551 Siesta Motel 386-325-3235 St Johns Motel 386-325-2278 Telstar Motel 386-328-1936 The Moorings at Crystal Cove 386-325-1055 William Penn Motel 386-328-1587 miscellaneous: do i need to register? no, just show up Any fees? no food? if you ride to 88 store, there is food and fuel there Fuel? most say that everyone can at least make it to the 88 store. Refuel there. If not, a few will probably carry some extra. Helmets? Helmets strongly encouraged but not a must have in order to ride Tandem Rider? Not illegal, but could be uncomfortable for long/full day’s ride Orange Visibility flag? Not a must, but always an added safety feature Goggles? strongly encouraged Can you ride out from the Elite campground? Palatka is only 14 miles from Rodman Dam GPS Coordinates Rodman Dam N 29 30.097 W081 48.909 Camp #2 Old hand pump N 29 22.729 W081 48.490 88 Stores N 29 21.574 W081 49.228 Eureka dam N 29 22.738 W 081 53.328 Bike (a Place to ride from close to Elite) N 29 23.420 W 081 42.509 Directions from south florida Take I 95 North to Ormond Beach (Exit 268 ) go west on 40 to 19 north to to Salt Spring (Elite is on left) From Miami I-95 is the best way. Take it about 270 miles to the FL 40 exit west 35 miles to Silver Springs to FL 19 go right about 30 miles and there will be a sign on 19 directing you to Rodman Dam. You will pass Elite Resort Camp Ground at the 15 mile mark on SR 19. Use Map Quest if you need more detail and enter in the address of Elite Resort. Rodman is 15-20 minutes from Elite.
