Well it has been suggested that some are going on Saturday morning, camping overnight and leaving on Sunday. If this is what people would like to do, we could meet near the turnpike and head out to MS&G as a group.

Not sure if ill be headin out from PSL or Orlando but I will definitley be there Saturday morning. What we ussually do is, everyone meets up at the stage at Noon for a trail ride. It is a good time to meet everyone and see where they are camping. A lot of us from on here camp just past the last set of gates to the right in the open field under the trees (just to the right of the stage). It is a blast and I wish it was every 2 weeks instead of once a month... -UCF

I just spoke w/ Steve at L-Cross. He said they are defintly have in DJ to play All types of music and requests. He is also trying to rig up a Kareoke machine. That should be interesting.

Ive been told by a few friends that all the trucks take over out there and the ruts are so bad that 4 wheelers cant go in them.

So what is it like with the trucks out there

Title: Re: MS&G 18th,19th & 20th
Post by: Truegrit on February 07, 2005, 05:30:47 PM
Its not bad with the trucks. If your running stocker it can be tricky, but as long as you know how to ride you'll be alright. With your laws, I would not sweat it at all.

What kind of turn out do they have for the MS&G?  Also, are there any good trails to ride there?  My husband and some friends went down last month to check it out and said there is mostly just a couple real big muddy holes but they didn't do any trails.  We were thinking about ditching the idea of going.  But if it's a real hoot, we can still come!  We love the mud!  Just wondering if it gets the same kind of crowd as the Rabbit or Pumpkin runs....???

Title: Re: MS&G 18th,19th & 20th
Post by: Truegrit on February 09, 2005, 09:23:10 AM
Its not as big as the Pumpkin Run. There are only 100 bikes or so. There are organized trail rides a couple times a day, that take you around the back of the property. For the most part it is just the big mud pits, but its still fun.

Thanks for the info Truegrit.  It's a long haul for us to Okeechobee.  We will probably just camp out at 5A that weekend or at the campground that is right there near it.  There are all kinds of trails there and we have a good time.  Besides, the Rabbit Run will be coming up, just hope it isn't as DUSTY as last year!! UGH!  I can take the mud and water all day but can't STAND all that dust!

U may ride around abit but mud is the thing there. A medic takes people to the back property on a trail ride. I ride awhile watch the trucks awhile then ride some more. Its a good time, bring some friends. check out www.l-cross.com and look @ the video!!! U will see what it is about. U see some big powerfull expensive trucks coming through there.

Oh yeah, NO glass, guns, or attitudes!!

I haven't been to MS&G's yet but we have a big group going. 5 or 6 bikes, 5 trucks, 1 buggy and a whole lot of cold beverages. ;D Were going to stay Sat. night and leave around noon on sun. We are all planing on meeting up at FlyingJ in Ft. Pierce around 8:30 9:00. I'll try to be at the stage at noon to go on a trail ride, sounds like fun. Hey BCC. You still have that blue chevy?

Once again the trail rides were not very exciting. But I guess that is what we should expect from a trail ride. It is not a mud ride. Its a shame that we are no longer allowed to play in those mud/water holes. I enjoyed the variety.

I thought the mud was great in the big pit thick and soupy. Perfect conditions. It only got better the later it got and the more water that was added.

Can't wait for March and the David Allen Coe concert.

We had a great time riding and meeting Little Redneck Girl, Alex (her hubby), Zin, Big Dog, Bart and a few others. Went with my friends Grizzlysp, Runkoutlaw/Jessie (his girl) and Wilburz. Well I got stuck a few times and had to be winched out by my friends and strangers. It was a great time. I can't wait until next month.

Sheldon and Don it was great to meet you hope we can ride again.

Tony thanks for buying food, and the macaroni salad was kick ass.

I did meet 3 folks for the first time and would like to thank each one of them. Thanks Sheldon,Robert and Jessica. It was an honor to meet such nice folks and be able to share some stories and plow through some gravy with them! Oh yah that dude Custom and his boy are cool too. :)

they got a website:
http://www.l-cross.com/index.html

you can camp anywhere you want. I would imagine people will be camping by the stage. If you camp in the back you will get a little more privacy and quietness. The place is wideopen with some palm trees and oaks around.

Cant camp next to the stage. That whole area is going to be reserved for Harley riders Rodeo:( So must be in back or around the pit.

Hmmm.... guess they will just be there for the party, huh?  We are only a few miles from the Iron Horse, David Alan Coe will be there all week.  We'll see enough of him by MS&G but it should still be a fun time.
But, we at least finally decided to go.  But, we are gonna head over early Saturday morning, hang all day and evening then go to a motel and get a shower!  Don't know if we will go back Sunday a.m. or head home.  Guess it will depend on our condition!!!  There will be 6 of us staying at the hotel and another 6 or 8 camping at L-Cross.  Hope we get to meet some of ya'll there!!!

How about the north west quadrent up against the tree line. there is room for at least 20-30 camps . Its not to close to the pit, but yet an area where every one can fit.

Wow 14 days left!!! I hope to see some harleys muddin!!

well, as an atvflorida member I was going to see if two more popups could fit in your camp area...but after reading the no sleeping rule...maybe we'll just hide in a corner somewhere.  ;D

on that note... do you just find a nice tree and throw your stake down, or are there actual designated camping areas.  I'd hate to set camp up only to find out I'm roadblocking a trail.

I cant say that I didnt have fun,but think it would be a whole ot more fun with about half the people, anyone know a head count,I heard rumors of around 15,000,i know it sure seemed like that,I asked one of the security guys if they were prepared fior that kinda crowd, and he said NO WAY,I know it was Mudfest, but man did I see alot of people(mainly punks around the age of 18-20 give or take) with no respect to other peoples property,"bumping" into other peoples trucks, like if there bike, truck, buggy, whatever was 4ft wide and the space they wanted to go through was 3 3/4 wide, they went anyway.......I guess one should expect that at an event that was so close to out of control.....that I think u might as well just say it was!

Would I go back......well yeah probably so,will definatly go back when their isnt a nat'l band and hopefully the crowd is half the size!

My group decided to get the hell out of there about 7pm,and on the way out we were pretty much told to go a way that was d**n near impassable, the mud was so nasty,my grizz made it through several times, towed a few pople out and was going back for the last one in our group when it finally happened........I broke an axle.....knew it would happen sooner or later...stock axles and 29.5's dont mix.........Just ordered Gorilla axles about 20 mins ago..so that wont happen again!

Well we got there around 3 p.m. friday and it was getting pretty full. We had a great time but it was beyond belief. The place was packed to the point you could not move at times. I can not wait until next month when it is not so busy. They opened all the gates and you could ride throughout the property. We had an awesome time. This is a learning experience for L-Cross and next time they will be better prepared. I think things went well for the amount of people that were there. What a way to spend the weekend, with friends.

I did do something that I have never done before. I winched out a newer Harley from the mud hole. It was shamefull what the owner of this bike did to it. He went into the hole and let it fall on it's side. Then I winched it out of the hole.

That Harley, was it a rust or burnt orange and silver,I saw a guy earlier in the day, like around 1pm riding around in an area that the only way he could have got there was to go through a mudhole, what an idiot.......I've got a Harley(which is for sale,2001 raodking classic)and that was not a place for a Harley!!!  Hope you drug out while it was still laying on it's side!!!

Yeah, the Harley was a maroonish color. I winched it out very carefully but he could have cared less. I used a strap around the forks so I would not scratch it. He said just put the cable around them. I would not do that.

oh ya, noone died as the rumor mill was going around, some dude was working on a swampbuggy, and it exploded, when that happened, he jumped back, and fell into the road where a truck ran him over...he's in critical condition into the hospital ..as I am told.

(No clue as to who it was...just something that happened out there....15-20k people, crazy things are gonna happen.)

apparenty at least 3 vehicles went up in flames, I saw a jeep that was toasty, the owner said he was in it when it caught..but he was ok, the jeep was crispy...

This is a shot of the trail they were making all four wheelers use to get out to the front. They would only let trucks through the gate at one point. Needless to say I did not go that way.

I got stuck there once...in the gate..like a friggin madhouse, a traffic jam. that really sucked big time. Imagine 2 or 300 bikes waiting to go thru there, in different directions, first come first served....

Yes my group got stuck in that too. A total mad house. It go tto the point where we just rode to the hole and stopped to watch, there was little room to play in. The trucks and buggies don't show any regard for the ATVs. I saw quite a few of them hit ATVs. Including one in my group.

it was so packed, trying to get around just sucked...
was quite fun on sunday rolling the the back area instead of hanging out near the mudpits..

next time I go, hopefully it wont be as chaotic!

Boys and Girls... That was the most insane weekend I have ever experienced. And I never even saw most of you! Way too many people out there. It was great on friday, but by saturday it was so crowded you couldn't go anywhere without waiting in line, or traversing a deep mud hole... I doubt I'll roll out for another big concert like that. It was a fun experience, but I hate crowds with a passion. Had a blast though.

Yo BCC, Had a blast like always.  Even though I locked the keys in my truck Friday, and froze my A$$ off that night. Sheldon and Zin, it was nice meeting you and thanks for the help.  I think Sunday was the best day of riding that I did there.  The pastures in the back were a blast to ride. Now I'm going to clean the bike and fix the winch that broke.  Don't buy the wireless winch it not too kind to mud three days straight.

You had to use the gate west of the mudhole to go to the front. It was not hard to get through. Wilburz and I went back and forth several times. That gate near the wash area was nasty !!!

I wish I was there to see the Harley try to make it through the mud!  The picture is funny but it would have been better to see in person.  I think that was half of the hype of this event for me...waiting to see if a drunk biker would test out the mud (not that I'd do it myself if I had a Harley).  Fun times for all!

The funiest part of that bike getting stuck was once Custom winched him out of the hole the bikers battery was dead and he could not start his bike to move it and  the great big super duty yellow paramedic/trail cop dude pulled up behind him and honk his air horn, then pulled along side of the biker, the biker then called him f-in lazy and then the big truck guy jumped out and chewed the biker out. Pretty funny to listen to that exchange.

I feel that the harley dude was on serious drugs. His friends told us that he also dropped the bike at the rodeo. I would have to say that the best time was riding in the back with friends and my wife. I am ready and my wife wants to go more than I could have imagined.

Could care less about the biker rodeo. I would say the rodeo was a flop. Hopefully they realize that mudding is there source of income and cater to us and not some chromed up loud HD! Loved it none the less, opening the back up was a smart move gave everybody a place to spread out.
