Title: Outlander 800 Max LTD GPS swap, wires ?????? Post by: dirtycruiser on June 21, 2007, 09:22:02 PM I am replacing the little Garmin Quest GPS that came with my quad with my Garmin 478 that I also use in my FJ Cruiser and also on my Seadoo RXT jetski. I’ve got mounts on all of my toys so I can just move it from one to the other. Quest : http://gpsnow.com/gmquest.htm Map 478: http://gpsnow.com/gmmap478.htm The Map478 has so much more to offer and seems easier to use, but, the screen size is the most important to me. Easy to read at just about any speed. You can’t take your eye’s off the trail for to long, so that screen helps a poop load…… Now my question is, luckily when I removed the Quest base mount from the bars I found the power plug to be the same as my Map 478 uses, damn lucky I am. There is another plug attached to the power plug main wire that looks like an earphone jack, female. What is this used for??????? Plug in an IPOD???? Where are the speakers hidden????
