Yes you will be racing in the junior class, and you sound like you are ready... Just go to www.floridatrailriders.org and you will find all the info you need to race in the FTR Quad Scrambles because you are still 1 year to young to race the quad in the harescramble.....

Hey man, the boots.. Dont go with the 50/50, go with the full length. They offer much more ankle and shin support. It may save your leg in the long run.

You do need a killswitch, you will need to join FTR and ATVA if the promoting club is running a sanctioned race. You need two numberplates, your background color is black. Also, look for the "N-style" numbers that may cost a bit more than the others, but they are definatly worth it when you are washing your quad and they dont spray off. They are a bit thicker and have more adheiseve.

You might want to get a camelback water/juice container. It will be vital to survive 1hour and 30minutes of racing on a hot track.

Races will be posted closer to the start of the season.

Wow dopeboii, you have a way with words let me see if I can help you.
Ahem; yeah boii, u can joing at teh races Teh 50/50 boots are NO GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT WALKING. Why bother? Ask Phil Albright  :o
u need a transponderaswell LOL!
In all seriousness come on out. It sounds like you are ready for some fun. If you need anything, you couldn't ask for more help to get you going.
Some races require you to be ATVA member, too. AMA and ATVA are the same thing except ATVA is for ATV's and you get an ATV mag instead of motorcycle.
Check the FTR website for ALL the answers to your questions.
1st race is Sept. 9th.

;) Do yourself a favor and make them as visible as possible (white on black) because your machine will not be all pretty after just a half a lap. So when you come through the scoring chicane, you can be easily recorded by the back-up scorers.
Also get some suspension as opposed to a pipe if you were thinking about it.
tat boii is on teh dope

They have sound levels now, so if it is over 96 decibles  :-\
I know it stinks, but it is what it is. I run a stock pipe myself and I see most have returned to run with theirs as well.

You can take your quad to a stereo shop and have them take a reading.

k but i got to thinking if all these 450s have full systems like sparks wich are one of the loudest pipes and dassa then i think i should be fine being that i gto a smaller engine but il still check befor hand and thanks for the help

you won't find any Sparks pipe in the Quadscrambles, you can see some HMF with the quiet core, and they pass the sound test

y wont u finda any sparks at the races? u think a 450r with a full hmf and quiet core will be louder than a 250ex with a full hmf?

Geez Louise, I have to try and decipher what the heck you are trying to ask.
You really should quit "cutting corners."
Just go to a stereo shop and get the reading done. If you are over the limit, you know what you have to do.

My bike is lowered in front, should I put it back to stock for these races? Also, I am getting spacers in the near future, should I leave them on to race or is the track too tight in spots? Thanks!

Myself, I make my machine take as much of the abuse so I don't have to. I'm not sure what you mean by lowering the front end?
As far as wheel spacers, don't do it if you are going to run a race through the woods. There will be many instances where you can JUST SQUEEZE through. Add some spacers and you will have to two wheel through certain parts of a trail.
Equipment essential for harescramble racing (other than the obvious personal safety gear):
Tires and suspension. That's it. From there you can keep adding stuff.
Armor, steerring stabilizer, axle, wheels,...ect...
Things you have to have for the only harescramble series in the state of Florida(FTR):
Kill switch tether cord. (*we have seen riderless quads many times! LOL!*)
96 decible or less sound level. This means some stock systems may have trouble passing if the packing isn't fresh. My YFZ with a stock system read 92 dB. I will say this; every loose nut and bolt will add noise and increase the dB level. So your pipe might just be okay, but your armor bolts or whatever, will make the sound level higher and your pipe will get the blame  :'(
I have seen the best riders with qa stock pipe kick the crap out of others who are piped.
After an hour of giving it all you got, you still have another hour. You are tired, if not exhausted. There is NO exhaust PIPE IN THE WORLD that will help you now.  ???
Suspension is a must. Dialed in, that is.

You Guys Are Killng Me Just Show Up and Race

Im definitely glad I didnt just show up and race. I am going to need to change my pipe back to stock, and get a kill switch tether cord. Plus, the season isnt until Sept. so why not ask some questions to make my life a little easier on the trail?
