My friend had one w/ srait 6 & 4:11 gears on 38 boggers & it did real good. What is the V-8 motor they made, I think it was like a 306 or somethin ? Title: Re: My New Jeep Post by: VForcedave on June 15, 2007, 11:00:51 AM Nice going Swamp. Can i ask you if you have some stupid parts. I am looking for those knobs/bolts that secure the soft top frame to the door frame. Someone took the liberty of borrowing mine (4) while I was in a store. Now when I am off road it rattles like crap next to my ear. Anyone have those plastic knobs with the bolt on one side? I need 4.

Title: Re: My New Jeep Post by: eldiablo64 on June 15, 2007, 06:25:29 PM 258's are good motors.I used to work at an engine machine shop and one of the guys had a gremlin with a 258 he ported and polished the heads and a bunch of stuff that thing would blow the doors off of alot of v8's.
Title: Re: My New Jeep Post by: 94Hardbody4x4 on June 17, 2007, 09:09:48 AM How'd you manage to get 5.88 gears? Rocks come in 6.72. I didn't know they made higher ratios for them.

Hard to put its size to scale , but the rear looks like a 9" rear . The other , less common 2.5 military axles where GMC ,which have a removeable carrier assembly much like the Ford 9". I believe those were 5.88 or 6.11. Regardless , thats one nice jeep it should walk almost anywhere with those 21.5 Goodyears.. One question to Swamp , what's it weighin' ? Please post some pics of the front end. Title: Re: My New Jeep Post by: Justbilly on June 17, 2007, 12:54:25 PM How'd you manage to get 5.88 gears? Rocks come in 6.72. I didn't know they made higher ratios for them. Cause they are not "Toploader" rockwells.. There are a few kinds of 2.5ton axles.
