Title: East Coast Ride Area Post by: BlackBeast on February 16, 2004, 03:22:56 PM Hey guys. I'm surprised I haven't seen this place mentioned yet, but one great place to ride is "The Compound" in Palm Bay. It's off of I-95, about an hour from Orlando, 2hrs from Jax, 1hr from Daytona, and 2hrs from West Palm (roughly).
They have just about everything you can imagine. Cliffs, Hills, Jumps, Canals.... Mud puddles that will swallow your ATV whole. They've even got a few straight PAVED roads that go for a good 1/2 mile or more if you're in the mood for a drag-race. You can go out there on some weekends and see close to 100 Jeeps, Pickups, Dirtbikes, and ATV's playing around. It's probably close to 200 acres or more of just about anything you would ever want to do. Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: erbilabuc on February 16, 2004, 04:02:01 PM is it south of Melbourne? Can you give like an adress near by? How would one get to it?
Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: BlackBeast on February 17, 2004, 11:50:42 AM My bad guys.
Yes, it's just a couple of miles south of Melbourne. Take I-95 to the Malabar Road exit, then head West. Turn left onto Minton Road at the Seven-Eleven. Follow Minton until it comes to a "T", then turn right. In about 30 yards, turn left at the stoplight onto Degroudt. Go down Degroudt for a few miles, then turn right onto Bombardier Rd (just before the high school). Where Bombardier ends, the fun begins... Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: DarkFireDragon on November 20, 2004, 08:10:40 PM WOW this place sounds sweet and not to far away either. Do you still ride there and do you have to pay to ride?

Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: tvman on November 22, 2004, 08:49:28 AM I called the Palm Bay Police and they told me that they have given numerous warnings and tickets out there..
It's definitely "not legal" and although people go there...the police patrol and will not hesitate to take your bikes.. Take your chances, but my bikes are worth too much for the risk. tvman Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: YFZRob on November 22, 2004, 06:21:11 PM The "Compound" has been there since the mid 80s. It's an old housing development gone bankrupt. They cleared the land, paved the streets, and then ran out of money. At the time, it was one of the biggest housing developments in the state.
And as tvman has pointed out, Palm Bay police have finally shut it down, which is a MAJOR shame. For the longest time, it was just left to anyone and everyone to play on. I'm not sure what the sudden change of heart is, but man was it nice when it was unrestricted. I started going out there 2 years ago, and had so much fun. There were about 3-4 motocross tracks that guys with bobcats and whatnot had created, which was a blast. The only negative was that it would get very wet with the slightest rain. I liked that place so much, I almost considered moving to Palm Bay.....sure glad I didn't do that! Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: fordsuks91 on August 03, 2007, 05:35:03 PM last i heard it was shut down and they blocked the entrances, used to be a fun place to drag race. But for the same reasons i stopped going and why they shut it down, too many people being dumb and gettin hurt. Watched a guy flip an R1 on top of himself at about 100mph, havent been back sense.
Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: -Dan- on August 08, 2007, 01:15:04 PM Cops are out there all the time. Neighbors sometimes call police when they see ppl pulling their trailers with bikes and what not in that direction. You don't expect anything and all of a sudden a cops stands next to your car even on a sunday morning at 7am. Haven't been out there in at least 6 months and not only because of the cops ... Too many retards are out there being stupid, shooting, etc.

Title: Re: East Coast Ride Area Post by: 300 quadrunner on September 20, 2007, 12:03:16 PM we used to mud out there, and i'd camp in the truck, so easy to get lost. was surpised it was this popular, i was frm sebastian, and used to ride out there, but cops are way to strict, thats where i learned how to drift, and who evr painted the orange directional lines on the road should be hung, i used to follow them, til i found out i was goin in a circle, lol
