   Well guys as if there hasn't already been enough change this season I am sorry to say I spoke with Allen at Swainsboro tonight and

there will NOT be a race at Swainsboro.


  The owners of the facility are squabbling and Allen has leased another facility in South Carolina about 2 hours north of Swainsboro where he now holds his flat track races. The SC track is only a 1/4 mile and doesn't quite have the allure of racing a 3/8 mile like Swainsboro does. When I asked Allen point blank "are we still racing on May 12?" he said, "well no,... can I call you right back?" I never heard from him and he doesn't answer either of his phone numbers. We are working on rescheduling this race date at another track and will post a date (between now and June 30) asap and announce that info at the Eastbay driver's meeting. I am truly sorry for any disappointment and I can assure you guys no one is as disappointed as me. I thought only weather could rain on our parade but it seems like all the quad associations are dealing with cancelled races this year.

Is it up in Greenville? That track is FFFFFAAAAASSSSSTTTTT.... :o...... 8)

Bummer. I've raced, and won, there many times. It's a fast track. Definately a nad tester

well that makes 2 of us. I was looking forward to racing there again for the 15th time

   Not that it matters now but I spoke with Swainsboro again today (Allen) and here's what happened.
 The property the track is on is located next to an all black church. The church members gathered sigs for a petition to close the track due to noise. The petition was presented to a judge and hearing dates were set. Allen leases the property from a family that was until last week, was fighting the petition. The family has now decided not to go to court and let the church have their way so there will not be anymore racing at Swainsboro Flattrack. However, Allen does also manage two other tracks both of which are in South Carolina. One is in Orangeburg and the other in Greenville, both are 1/4 mile ovals. We are all invited to race at either one but he has specifically invited all of us to come on July 21 to the Greenville track since this is an off month for the league. He said he routinely has 5 quads at every race. Scott 270R has raced with the old Georgia Flat Track League at the facility before and told me it is very fast.
