Title: East Orange County
Post by: 1uglykawasaki on December 16, 2004, 09:18:33 AM
I just got my bike and want to ride, but I live in Bithlo area of East Orange county. Anyone know where I can ride? Tried going out in woods around my area but got ran off by police, so better not try that again. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the site! I live right by UCF. Right near you. There arent too many places to ride right around here that i have found. I have heard of a place by Sea World but have never been. Also, there is a place called Scottsmore off of 95 which is awesome. Good luck finding anywhere close. IF you do definitley let me know...

Scottsmore is fun.. just be sure to keep an eye on your stuff. Things have a funny way of disappearing out there.

There's also the Black Hole/Canaveral Groves area that's just west of Canaveral Groves and Port St. John in Brevard Co.

Its been about two years since I have been out there, so my description wont be 100% accurate. There was mud, trails, and a few hills to climb when I was out there. And also a place to swim (not sure how many people would actually swim in the hole... but my friends and I did ;))

ucfneed2ride - have you been to that field in between home depot and the post office up on alafaya trl. If so, dont go up there anymore cause I was up there on Sunday until Orange county sherriffs ran us off. So be careful if you go up there.

yeah ive been there a few times but havent been for a while. I knew it was just a matter of time until they were going to start kickin people out of there. I mean it is right there on the main road across from the busiest shopping center in the area (Waterford). That sucks though, it was a good place to test out new products and good for kids to learn to ride...

The reason they ran people off at home depot is because they're gonna start building on it after new years.  I know of a spot that's on the cornor of 520 and 50.  It's not very big and I haven't been there in a while but it's not fenced off.

I live like two minutes from 520 and 50. Where are you talking about, not out behind Speedworld? Let me know so I can try it out. Thanks for the info.

If its the same place im thinking of it is right past the 520-50 crossover on the right. you can miss it very easy... Just a hole in the woods to go in but I would go there alone got some DEEP holes...

Man, if there are people from the orlando area wanting to ride, we should plan to meet up and ride at one of these places sometime. Doesnt sound like any of these places are too far. Scottsmore is huge and legal...if we got some fellow utility quads to go out there together we would have a blast!

dunno about east orange county, but over on the East side of Bloomingdales at Millenia Mall, there is an empty field that is rather large where a hotel is going in in the future that is wide open.  I'm not sure about the security guards for the mall though, they are a pain, but it isn't posted.

Id@

I was gonna try it after work one day soon.

I'm going to try going out to Alafaya today after work, I went out there last week just with my truck and found VERY recent signs of quads and motorcycles.  So, I'm gonna try it for about an hour or so.

Where at on Alafaya?

Right across the street from the waterford mall area, super target and stuff. Looks like a pretty boring place, a big field, maybe fun for the sport crowd. But there are signs posted there.

it's a good place to build some endurance with the whoops around the middle, maybe a good spot for some long-distance drags in the middle, but other than that it is pretty boring.

I met a few people out there yesterday who are out there a few days a week, but they ride motorcycles, I was the only quad out there and I think other's rode it more than me ;-)

I can say this, I did quite a few 4-5 gear runs all the way around and hardly had to lift the throttle.  I would say it's about 1 - 1.3 miles all the way around the outside of it.

I'll be going back for my fixes during the week.

aah yeah i went there by home depot the first day i got my quad just to test it out a bit...pretty boring. I always see people out there even though i have heard of people getting warnings and maybe tickets.
5a is an awesome place to ride...havent been there in a while...

5A is OK, but not made for sport quads, and not my style, I like to stay clean as far as mud goes, dust is no problem for me though ;-)

I feel the same way Ida, I really don't like the mud either, but the dust on the other hand is easy to clean, and my bike goes right through it.
