Title: street bike owners?
Post by: emaxxjeremy on April 17, 2007, 07:09:41 PM
well i have been off a street bike for probably 5 yrs or so now and i am getting the itch with summer coming.  the 4 wheelers are kinda getting boring so my sons and wifes just sit.  i was thinking about geting a street bike again to tool around on and enjoy the summer.
i was looking at an R1, but i have always wanted a ducati, and a twin more fots my riding style, as  i like the low end torque.  i have never ridden a 749, but always heard that they werent all that powerful.  has anyone actually rode one to know. i suppose i may have to go 996, but i am older now and really dont care to go 175mph anymore, i just want a strong bike.

My gsxr 750 is ridiculous fast.  The new 600's will blow away even the old 1000's.

If you want something fun and comfortable I would go with the hayabusa, it has lots of torque and lots of horsepower too, (I just happen to have a 2006 for sale too if you are looking) also the new kawasaki ZX14 is one bad machine too... Good luck with whatever you buy though.

No land yacht about it, I just thought you were looking for something strong and those two bikes are the strongest available at this time in my opinion. But good luck with whatever you end up with still..........

I am a V-Twin Fan as well, I have owned my share of Crotch Rockets but there is nothing like that twin. I can't explain it but the twins are more exciting to me. Go with a 996.

Ducati's are a rare breed, but they are pretty fast.Comfort wise though, the Italians don't care about comfort when your going fast. I think their a bit more in the high price range and a lil more expensive to fix if you have problems. That's why you don't see many of them on the road.

RC51  best of both worlds,  Honda reliability and V-twin feel.

Supermoto's rock.  If I could get rid of my z400 I'd get one.

just picked up a 2003 FZ1 yamaha very nice bike for cruising and yet nimble enough to play with the sport bikes. R1 power in a standard upright seating position. Bike is made for us older guys who do not want to lean over so much, but i did get the zx14 cause she is soooo baddddd. I take the wife on FZ1 and no passenger on the kawasaki.
