Title: Age Recommends Post by: redneckjetski on April 17, 2007, 09:51:59 AM HERE IS A CRAZY THOUGHT. I'M 15 YEARS OLD STRAIGHT A'S IN SCHOOL.
JUST GOT MY LEARNERS PERMIT, DRIVE MY MOM'S 3800 LB. TRUCK ON THE ROAD AND OFF ROAD. BUT CAN'T NOT DRIVE MY FOREMAN ON SOME OF THE TRAILS AND IT ONLY WEIGHS 600 LBS. WHAT UP WITH THIS?? Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: cheropride on April 17, 2007, 10:13:23 AM I hear you, I think the age recommendations for ATV's are crazy. According to their age requirements, you are suppose to be riding a 90, and that's just crazy.

Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: greenmachine on April 17, 2007, 10:25:27 AM its because the government people are retards. Actually enough people hurt themselves acting like retards that the government just put an age on statistical data. It is outdated & rediculous. My son and daughter were 4 when they got their first quads. I was 12 when I got a 200x 3wheeler. Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: Young Gun on April 17, 2007, 03:15:17 PM HERE IS A CRAZY THOUGHT. On a ATV you flip and your going to hurt something no questions asked, and your not strapped in. It is a dumb law but it keeps alot of deaths from happening. Anyone with common sense let alone a brain knows that an automobile is safer than an ATV... but wait didnt you just laugh at my statement that said just that? ::) Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: MadMudder on April 17, 2007, 07:26:45 PM He brings up a good point but its not about the machine that decides the roll over. Anyone can roll riding anything. That responsibilty lies with the rider. Anyway I think most of us agree that they are outdated and wrong.

Most likely because you are 18 or older and you should be buying your own toys. Give the kid a break he's apparently quite a bit smarter than the majority of you spoiled little brats. Just because he doesn't have a bike doesn't mean he doesn't have an opinion or has never rode one. And the rest of you little obnoxious kids giving him hell have no business talking because not a damn one of you would have a bike either had your parents not bought your first one.

Doesnt matter if you got the money or not, fact is she bought you a quad. No money talk. She spends money on alot more things than food and clothes dude. It doesnt matter if its school or not, using correct grammar and not talking like an idiot shows maturity thus people will have more respect. If you go around saying "lol he doesnt have a byke lol what a loser he shuld go dye lol" of course im going to make fun of you, anyone would. Notice this sites majority population is adults, not many talk like that. Were talking about who got you started in the sport of ATVing, not if you paid for other bikes when you were capable of going to the potty correctly. I have a job on the side, BUT I cannot spend any money I make. I am basically on a contract with my folks, I have to get all A's and B's on my next report card in order for them to co-sign on a 10k loan. I have no credit history so with them co-signing saying I will pay that weekly/montly fee I have a good chance to get approved. And that is going towards a car im getting this summer. Maybe when I graduate and have that loan nearly paid off I can get something on the side, but until then its not happening. Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: Young Gun on April 17, 2007, 10:03:50 PM i thought qt was trying to say my parents bought me my first quad they didnt i think you know how old i am but i gotta know- why the hell do you have "22's son" underneath your name? is that the size tire on your bike? oh ok. I dont know how old you are and I'd rather not take a stab at it. If you have ever seen the show "Rob and Big" on MTV he always says 22's referring to the width of his upper arm. I got it in physics one day when I took all of the books and lifted them which was atleast 250lbs+, so now whenever I do something everyone at my school says "22's son". Its a inside kind of thing you can say. Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: MadMudder on April 17, 2007, 10:41:24 PM HERE IS A CRAZY THOUGHT. He has been my riding buddy for about 6 years, been riding the foremans for about 3 years now. He's a better driver than alot of adults. But that's not the point. The age recommends are really stupid when it come to ATV's. There are some adults out there the should not be allowed to even ride atv's. And it's not atv's that kill or hurt people. It's the people that ride them. You need to have respect for the machine or it will hurt you.
Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: 06 BaNsHeE on April 18, 2007, 10:57:11 PM Rebel what ever happened to your banshee?Or that 100000$ check or w.e that you posted up here? Why didn't you buy a bike with that money
Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: 06 BaNsHeE on April 18, 2007, 10:58:48 PM So if i get stopped on my shee or 4x4 what happens?im 15 turning 16 in 2 months
Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: FoxHondaRider on April 18, 2007, 11:03:20 PM I hear ya on this one. If you go to buy a new ATV and are under 16 the dealer cant sell you it if they know anything about you riding it. Parent or someone else has to buy it and cant say a thing about you having it. And yeah what 15 year old even 12 year old would be on a 90cc quad? Your knees would be on the handlebars and to me be unsafe. The reason I think is that people get killed riding a machine too great for their experience. A few years ago a girl (I think about 13) got decapitated hitting a barbed wire fence on a 400ex.
Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: Young Gun on April 19, 2007, 03:32:09 PM Rebel what ever happened to your banshee?Or that 100000$ check or w.e that you posted up here? Why didn't you buy a bike with that money The Banshee I had for a week tops, I was forced to sell it back. People complained of the noise since I didnt have a trailer to take it to Croom or anything. That was for 44,9 and thats going towards my UTI fund when I graduate. Title: Re: Age Recommends Post by: Palmettobay_recon on April 19, 2007, 04:11:17 PM You won't get in trouble for riding under age on an atv. They are simply dealer reccomendations (liability) not a law. I'm 14 and the only place I know of that I can't ride because of my age is Big Cypress.
