There are quite a few kids out there. Lots of small 90s and 50s and kids riding full size quads too. Yes there are folks riding with bears in their hands. I have no tmet some biligirant or rude out there yet. Its actually relatively mellow there, which I enjoy. Everyone has a great time out there, plenty of room for everyone. There are some open areas away from traffic, for beginners too.

Post by: jackinthebox23 on February 28, 2005, 07:00:46 PM
is there a way to reserve a campsite? Are there campsites to reserve or is it just pull up, park and play?!

Also, do you ride your quad to the concert and watch it on the quad?

Title: Re: Mud, Sweat & Gears March 18-20
Post by: 8up on February 28, 2005, 07:46:57 PM
It is pretty much park and play

Title: Re: Mud, Sweat & Gears March 18-20
Post by: mudmaster on March 01, 2005, 07:38:57 AM
Hey guys
To answer jackintheboxes question.
No you can not bring your quad to the concert area. You have to leave it outside of the gate or in your camp.
No mud vehicles will be allowed in the concert consessions areas. we expect about 8500 harleys for the rodeo and we cant have people running back and fourth around 5 million $ worth of bikes!! So dont forget to bring your lawn chairs or blankets for the concert...

And there will be another party goin' on out back friday and saturday night... Zin's bringin' the laptop loaded with MP3's and his gazillion watt stereo system. Hell, I may not even make it up front for the concert!

I didnt know there would be that many bikes there for Coe. Im talking about the Harleys'. So it wont be like every other time where we just rode our quads up to the stage area huh? Amazing, and sounds like lots of fun! Possibly really crowded though? But of course we will be there!

Thank you mudmaster. That would have sucked if I would have gotten there around 9 am and could not get in. I would have had to go fishing or something. I will be there in the afternoon now.

Thats Great!
Its going to be the biggest event yet!!!!!
Maybe now we can start building on some more events.

Hey 2fast4u it would be best for the buggie because we do not allow 3 wheelers and the 250R sounds like one.

Hi Everyone
We changed and added some bands for this event.
David Allan Coe is still going to play but we changed some of the starting bands.
Check out the changes @ www.l-cross.com/concerts.html
We even have someone playing on sunday.

Mudmaster,

That is cool, having more bands. You will find that most of us are not there for the bands. We go to have fun, meet people (like yourself) and ride. The bands are an extra feature. I think that most of us enjoy the camping and riding. I also think that building on to the the ammenities would benefit all who enjoy the facility. You guys run a great place for the sport of off roading and it will only get better. Keep up the good work.

P.S. Here is an idea

Let's see. 5 more days to go. Can we get more than three groups of folks to ride out with us on Saturday morning? I can meet anyone who wants at the old mcdonalds on royal palmbeach blvd. and southern on saturday morning. Want to get a early start.  ;D Custom will be there by then and have our camping area staked out. Come one come all. Gonna get the biggest F-in camp fire going that night.

I love bands. Anyway they can get gut-rot to play there?

I cant say that I didnt have fun,but think it would be a whole ot more fun with about half the people, anyone know a head count,I heard rumors of around 15,000,i know it sure seemed like that,I asked one of the security guys if they were prepared fior that kinda crowd, and he said NO WAY,I know it was Mudfest, but man did I see alot of people(mainly punks around the age of 18-20 give or take) with no respect to other peoples property,"bumping" into other peoples trucks, like if there bike, truck, buggy, whatever was 4ft wide and the space they wanted to go through was 3 3/4 wide, they went anyway.......I guess one should expect that at an event that was so close to out of control.....that I think u might as well just say it was!

Would I go back......well yeah probably so,will definatly go back when their isnt a nat'l band and hopefully the crowd is half the size!

My group decided to get the hell out of there about 7pm,and on the way out we were pretty much told to go a way that was damn near impassable, the mud was so nasty,my grizz made it through several times, towed a few pople out and was going back for the last one in our group when it finally happened........I broke an axle.....knew it would happen sooner or later...stock axles and 29.5's dont mix.........Just ordered Gorilla axles about 20 mins ago..so that wont happen again!

Well lets hear  some more feed back!!!!

I  think  it  was  crowded  cause  of  the  David  Allan  Coe  Concert  and  the  Biker  Rodeo    I  heard  about  10,000 were  there

Had a good time. We got there around 2pm Friday and there were more people there by then, then there was at last month's event. Way too crowded. I got ran into by some dude on a BF750 who as trying to fly out of a mudhole down a main road. A 13 y/o girl that cam with us got hit by a swamp buggy in the mud, it was crazy.

Thanks to the girls that helped my friend when he passed out, and fell off his bike into the mud, Saturday morning. They waited w/ him until the ambulance took him away. He sis doing fine now. He was at the hospital for about 6 hrs then released.

Does anybody know what was up with the girl who rode her horse up to they stage during the concert? She was pushing people out of the way so she could get a better spot I guess. I did understand why she was there at all, security??? or just a pain in the you know what. A guy eventually pulled her and  the horse out of the crowd though.

We had alot of fun too.. But way to many people, we knew there would be alot but I guess we weren't prepared really! Wasnt even enough room to set up camp. We never even put up the tents. The MUD was fun, it got really bad later in the day on Saturday though. Couldn't beleive the way some people were riding and acting...Just add alcohol and instant A$$Holes appear. But you gotta take the good with the bad I guess. We enjoy going camping and riding and once a month its great! See ya all next month! Happy Easter!

Pete is fine now, they are really not sure what happened to him (passed out or seizure) probably due to dehydration. Once he go the IV and other fluids in him he was good to go. He was deperate to come back that afternoon, but his mom drove down from St Cloud and took him home. That was scary, looking into his eyes and seeing nothing going on inside.

Thanks again to you and your freind. By the way I think he's in love with you now. JK

Hey Truegrit:
I am glad to hear pete is doing good. I was the medic that got to him when people came and got me.
I would also like to thank the girls that helped me with him.
You Girls did Great. and i think pete liked the attention!!

As for the rest of the event we are working to resolve a lot of road and camping problems. Mother nature thru us a suprise by dumping 6" of rain on us the day before opening. I killed about 400 acres of camping areas. We are working to fix these problems and hope to be done by the next major concert.
For the month of may we have the opening act for D.A.C.
"Jerry and the Hurrycanes" Thes guys ROCK!

And for the question of how many???
Its almost 10,000 and some hade to be turned away...
and for that I appoligize. The sheriff had to ask us to do that.
Hope to see ya' in April

MudMaster I am sure everyone who attended appriciated all of your efforts. I am sure you and your staff were overwhelmed with the amount of people. I think you did a good thing by openning the back area so we could ride w/o so much congestion. I know it is not your fault but I do not understand why people feel the need to blare vulgar (foul language) music at 1 in the morning, or insist on making full throttle runs down the trails by folks sleeping all night.
Certain things can be expected with large crowds but it still hard for me to understand what makes those people tick.

Keep up the good work, We have all learned lessons for this experience.
Thanks again and see you next month.

If they allowed guns I garantee there would not be that many idiots doing the stuff you mentioned! ;D

I would have reduced that number by atleast four or five!

Maybe next time they can set aside an area separated by atleast 1/4 mile for families or people that want to get some peace and quiet. Set the time for the music and generators to be cutoff by 9 p.m.. All vehicle movement stops at 10 p.m.. Let all of the other wack-jobs run over each other etc. for all I care.

Just an idea.

When Underhill had his place kickin he had one, it was a great idea, them little kids on bikes make me nervous around all the trucks that either cant see em or dont pay attention to them. Maybe they can have events on another weekend for family folk only and have your rules plus probably no alcohol for that matter, be careful what you wish for...

Not letting four wheelers pass the gate really sucked. We had to go around through that hole that every 2wd got stuck in. They finally opened another gate even farther down. I wanted to follow my buddy in his buggy but couldnt. There was to many people there, but it was still fun and I'll be back again. Got some great video. Has a great weekend. If you haven't been yet, it's worth making the trip for.

Wilburz and I rode the entire area from the mudhole to the front several times. I know that near the wash area got to the point you needed a 4wd. The west gate was not that bad if you watched where you went. Wilburz has a 2wd and did not get stuck going back and forth.

I do not know about having a time to stop vehicles but more control over the speed limit would be good. Hauling a$$ down the main trails at 1 am or anytime is not safe. The only thing that I really would comment on was the lack of security. I loved the event and will continue to go. I do not think that there was enough people there to direct traffic which caused most of the problems that I saw. I will be there next month. Other than that I thought that it went pretty well. I had plenty of room to camp and rode all over the place.

Hello everyone:
Yes, We were overwhelmed!!!! the next time we have a major concert there will be at least 3 times the security!
We are working on the roads and drainage problems as we speak.
We hired an engineer to help with the traffic problems from the road to the gates so that we can get more people of the Highway.
And we will hire more gate staff for these big events so that we can move people much faster.
Like I have told many of you, We are going to put our profits back into the park and make things even better. With more events and concerts.
I am working on an ATV Rodeo just for all the 4-wheelers and utility vehicles. Details coming soon!!!

Thank you for taking a lot of our suggestions to heart. I am sure if you asked for some cheap labor (volunteers) to help in any way we could find some. Just ask, you could probably get a good sized fro to help on an off weekend.

Sounds good Mr. Mudmaster.........the mudholes along the "roadways" kind made it fun,but I'm sure the folks who had motorhomes and travel trailers back there didnt think it was much fun some Sunday.........If there isnt already, you might think about renting a grader or frontend loader(or buying an older one)

So can you tell us if anyone was seriously hurt out there, the way some people were driving/riding,it's a wonder someone wasnt killed, the 2 wheelers were zipping in and out of traffic like crazy........Did amyone know who the idiot was on the harley that was in and around the mudholes, either he was as stupid is as stupid does,or he had more money then he knew what to do with, becuase like I said before, that just wasnt the place for a HD.......

You were camped with Steve (Twisted Pyscho) from west palm area? That is wierd I was in that camp most of the weekend. My friends with trucks and buggies were camping with Steve. They were the ones with the travel trailers and motorhomes. I can't wait until next month.

Thank you Mudmaster. You throw one heck of a party. I especially loved DAC. Mrs. Pierce, asked who we want to see up there next. Since DAC is coming back in Oct, any chance Palm Beach resident, Kid Rock could join him? This would be right up his alley.
Then after that, Call Hank Jr.
