Post by: arod on March 24, 2007, 02:15:34 PM
i have a 2003 kfx 50 that wont start. has gas(rebuilt carb),new plug, excellent spark, coil is good, 120lbs of compression in the cylinder, exhaust is not clogged. what could it be? i am guessing the compression needs to be higher, like 180lbs? any and all ideas, theorys, explanations, comments, thoughts or even knowledge and wisdom welcome. please help as my daughter NEEDS to go to CROOM soon, or so she says.

you could have a bad kill switch. if it's the one that has a lanyard in the back. disconect the plug and jump out the switch. put a wire between to two terminals. that is were I always check 1st.

What did the old plug look like? Does the new one smell like fuel? Spark, fuel, and comp.is all you need. It might be flooded. Turn off the fuel valve and crank it for a while. What year is it? Is it made by Suzuki?
