Title: Fl. registration in ONF
Post by: 1Scorpion on March 21, 2007, 07:28:20 PM
I know we have to title our quads or reg. them. Now I've been told you must carry the reg. paper.  Can it be a copy or will it have to be the original ? I know carrying the original won't last long before you can't read it.  Any info would help.

Do you have the green registration sticker on your bike?

According to the Law no, the sticker is enough. But from what I can read on some of the previous threads according to the ONF you better have both.

How can they ticket you if your not breaking the law. If the law says I don't need it, they better not try to ticket me for it.

This is confusing and I guess it won't ever get better. I was just talking to the wife about a new quad , but with all this nonsense maybe I'll just get a dualsport so I can ride in the dirt and on the street.  :-\ maybe a yamaha TW200

It looks like the ONF can do anything they want. Are they giving one a ticket for not having a registration, or for not having a green sticker. Or are they giving you the ticket for both? In theory the sticker is used to prevent theft that is it, nothing else. What they seem to be doing is matching the green sticker number to a registration number a piece of paper.

As far as dual sports, you better make sure it is a daul sport motorcycle - daul sport meaning plate, title, registration. On the manufacture certificate of orgin it should not state for off highway use only.

Besides you weenies wouldn't know how to ride a daul sport.

You might be surprised ! Actually I'm debating to either buy a set of dirt rims for my street legal Supermotard or trading it in on a Legal dualsport. I had a KDX200 that was street legal some years back. I'm starting to miss it with all this political stuff going on. Thanks for the info Joan I've told the guys I ride with so we will be ready for the gestapo.

Make sure you stay on the trails and remember if you don't see a corosite (brown post) with stickers, it is not a legal trail. If it is not signed it is closed trail.

Happy trails - I ride a daul sport both on the road and in the forest a 250 , a 650 on the road.

I currently have a KTM 525 exc and a KTM 300 xcw, both are plated. If your bike has a plate you get to ride ALL the numbered roads. I have 4 quads that may go up for sale if this situation doesn't get any better. I may just keep one of the bikes to just blast around the forrest.  :'(
