Title: HomeMade HRC airbox lid and flap.
Post by: Miami450R on March 08, 2007, 09:05:27 PM
Well im not really too good on $$ so instead of spending like 60 dollars or so on a actual HRC lid and flap , I modified my stock one to look and function like it,,,
this is what a Stock Lid looks like:

thats my lid:

This is a HRC lid.I found this pic on 450r hq , Dont mind the burned part of it , but look at the hole , and flap...

By the way: for those who are wondering , I had to cut it because i rejetted my bike to a 180 main jet , and i would have to run open airbox , but i ride trails alot , so this gives me the air AND the protection I need :)

Not too Shabby Ehhh?

You could make those and sell them for cheap.  What did you use to cut out the section?

I used my dad's Compressor with the Hi-speed cutter (disc).

then i used a little wool brush tip with the compressor  , and smoothed out the edges and rough spots. lol.

Thanks.
