Title: polaris sportsman 700
Post by: snowmanzz13 on March 07, 2007, 06:55:16 PM
okay, well this past weekend, we had an issue, it overheated and threw the rod. So my dad went today and was told to do a long block for it, we figure the 1000, to $1500 is not alot to have the motor to be redone, so my question is, does anyone know of a site or a someone who will do this long block kit to it. plz and thanks a millon

if this doesn't make sense, i'll be  back on later to elaborate but now i have a meeting...

When you get it rebuilt, make sure you keep the radiator clean. I have seen so many people say that they cleaned it but just did not clean it enough. I always take WD-40 or PB Blaster and spray it into the radiator before I wash it and it works great. The blaster takes the mud film off the radiator fins and makes it run cooler. I have several polaris quads and never had a running hot problem. I had a friend that tried using simple green and it still ran hot until I told him to spray it down with PB blaster. No problems since because that how he always cleans it now.

Ill answer for him.

Any auto parts store should have it. Advanced auto usually has tons of it. WD-40 and pb blaster are pretty much the same... atleast they taste the same!
