Title: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: FLSnake on April 18, 2005, 06:54:35 AM Went out there Yesterday 4/17, my first time, it is really a nice place, got to ride about 1 1/2 hours before the cops told us we couldn't park where we were, he never said we had to leave the area, just we couldn't park where we parked which was like an abandoned cul da sac, he said you have to park off the road and the cul da sac was a road. He said we would consider this warning petty, he was pretty nice, but he never gave us a clear idea on where we could park. Do you have to go hide in the woods somewhere?
So where does everyone park that they allow it? There were alot of folks out there, this could be my new best place!! Title: Re: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: 05greengriz on April 18, 2005, 07:08:14 AM You pretty much have to park behind the tree line, so they cannot see you. See if this map will help you, if not try www.northportoffroad.com.

We made left right after we crossed under I75, went back there parallel to the power lines. Lots of people riding along the lines but I see on your map it is marked red to stay away, is that true?
Thanks Title: Re: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: Tmack on April 18, 2005, 07:54:28 AM Flsnake, we were out there Saturday and were followed in by the 50.(Really cool guy). Title: Re: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: Tmack on April 18, 2005, 02:11:44 PM What do you mean?
Title: Re: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: FLSnake on April 18, 2005, 02:38:49 PM Quote What do you mean? How did all that property get in that condition, it looks like someone started to develop a subdivision and then abandoned it. Do you know they story on it? No biggie, more curious than anything, would be nice to pickup a lot in there if they were selling for cheap. You probably can't get a cheap lot in there anymore since everything in North Port has gone up, even though there is no power and the area will likely be abandoned for a few more years.

Title: Re: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: 2Raptors on April 19, 2005, 07:48:45 PM Quote Is that area known as LeHigh Acres? No. General Development built roads from Venice all the way down to Naples from what I hear. Lehigh Acres is east of Ft Myers. Title: Re: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: FLSnake on April 21, 2005, 04:31:02 PM Is there a better day to go where they police don't patrol as much? Is maye Saturday better than Sunday?
Thanks Title: Re: North Port - Where to park to please the law Post by: 2Raptors on April 22, 2005, 06:27:55 AM I'm not sure Saturday is better than Sunday, during the week it's empty out there. They go thru phases where they patrol heavy for a couple of weeks then they are hardly around for a while...it's a crap shoot.
