i am wanting to get involved with the southern flat track leauge but just looking some advice dont wanna jump in head first would like to get my feet wet first stuff like do i need a sway bar where could i try and locate some used tires and if i like the racing then i would buy new of course what kind of riding gear is required and most important where is the closet to track to daytona where you can practice at i dont mind paying of course any and all help will be greatly appreciated thanks

is it every sunday and my only problem so far is i dont have a sway bar so my biggest question is going to be how to set it up without a swaybar because i just dont want to spend 400.00 bucks if in the end i dont like the flat track racing but i highly doubt i will dislike it :)

Companies like Durablue sell front and rear lowering links. They work by sort of re-locating where the shocks mount. You'll probably spend $150 or so between the front and rear lowering kits. You can use wheel spacers to get wider. Those are the 2 main ingredients, low and wide. After that you can play and tweak the setup further. I don't race a quad so I'm not sure how necessary a sway bar is but I can't think lacking one would be that big of a problem as long as you weren't all tall like a motocross or harescramble setup. Just hang off the side in the corners more.

once you get the sway bar set up properly it will work good. If you want to try out flat track you can always tighten down the front right shock and that will give you more downforce on the left rear stopping the tire from lifting. that's how we were set up for a while. also would not hurt to bring the rear end narrow. that will help with the turns. it's all in how you ride and how much money you want to spend.

yeah i hear ya but my biggest thing is tires i am trying to find a decent set of used ones first before i spend 500.00 bucks on tires i want to try it out first if i like it i will spend the money the money is not a issue i just have to figure out set ups gearing stuff like that cause i am set up for speed right now i know i see some of the quads out there with a gigantic rear sprocket but a am a big guy so i have never used a a big rear sprocket for any of the riding i do so thanks for your help so far guys very much appreciated just keep the tips coming

Practice at Thunderbowl Speedway is every Sunday, 10am - 5pm. We will be glad to help you with your set up, and answer any questions you may have if you want to try out some flat track racing. Don't stress too much about sway bar set up and gearing at first. Come out and practice, and as you get more comfortable and faster, then you can get into tweaking your set up. I know tires are expensive. I would suggest checking ebay. My first set came from there. You can find good used sets on there regularly for $300.00 for tires and wheels. What kind of quad do you have? I may have some used stuff to sell you. You are welcome to PM me with any questions.

ebay is the place to search for tires used   they often have american racers up there   you can even find used sway bars  and you might want to contact rath racing and durablue  sometimes a sway bar for one bike will work on another
