I was talking to a guy at the Gas Station this morning about riding and he said they have been riding down in the Yucapans again. I haven't rode there for quite awhile (since I got a written warning) but I was wondering if any of you have been riding there and if its Cool again. The guy also said that they were parking right off of Burnt Store RD (by the fire station). If any of you have any input please let me know (sure saves a drive up to croom and the Yucapans are the best place to ride in my opinion) Thanks.. ::)

For the last few months they've been pretty much letting us ride. But it's really just the luck of the draw. I know a couple guys who have gotten tickets. And one guy, about a month ago, had his toy hauler towed away. But most people are riding with no problems for now. These things seem to go in cycles...they enforce for a while then back off.

Yeah nothings really changed for the past 10 years it seems. Thanks for the info, I think I may take a ride down and try my luck (if I don't see other people I won't ride, strength in numbers lol)  ;D

What type of quad do you ride? When you want to come down, shoot me a PM. I know the area pretty well. I can take you to a track section , open sugar sand trails or more tight trails (or best yet, a bit of each!) I'd be happy to ride with you any time I can!

I ride a Banshee, and I am bringing some guys from tampa that ride trx450r's and a Suzuki 400. I hope to come down there on Sunday if the wife lets me out of the house lol.  ;D

If you have a 4x4 truck park it in the woods,parking is the  main problem.If you park on the road you may or may not get a ticket.Stay out of the management area and enjoy your day.

I am definatley not parking out by the roads anymore. This past Tuesday I went there for a short ride, a lot of people said everything has been alright. So I took the chance and came back to a nice sheriff who gave me a nice christmas gift of a trespassing ticket. He said activity has been too much for zemel, they want it strictly patrolled. But if you can park in the woods go for it.

I ride there all the time sisnce I got my quad in August. Never had a problem, have seen lots of cops, and I always park near the road. Need 4wd to get back in there without getting stuck.

I rode the Yucapan today, awesome riding, only saw 2 other people on dirt bikes. Got to try out my new Garmin GPSMAP 60c. No trouble with the cops.

What are you doing tomorrow? I am thinking of headin down there since I have the day off? Anyone riding?

My weekend plans to go to marathon key just went down the crapper, so I will prolly be out there riding either tommorrow or sometime this weekend.

Also, for the Yucapen riders, some big fella took a real bad spill on a green Vforce. He was a mess...didn't remember anything, didn't know where he was or how he got there. An ambulance got back there to get him, but the cops were pulling up in force while we were pulling out. Be careful out there. By the way, he wasn't wearing a helmet.

ha i live almost rite next to the yucapan its where i ride almost all the time that and behind the industrial park if u no were dat is dont recommend riding out there now becuz of the big housing development there building but they were letting off and now i believe there enforcing it again but i know how to get around all them smelly rangers lol and believe me once they see u its hard to outrun the radio i havnt been caught riding out there since the law was enforced but then again thats me not u so if u plan to go better hope that rangers arent out there i belive its a $150 fine or more

i live 5min.from the pan so we ride and then come home. sometimes we stay out all night if it's interesting. i might ride the 400ex then come home and get my sammy ;D

No i have been out there lots of times, I guess you mean the open pit areas with the mud? I have thought about going out there at night but wasn't sure if there were "cool" people out there all night. I didn't feel like getting my head chopped off by Jason going down the trail.

LOL if you want to ride sat night your more then welcome to go with us.only thing you have to look out for is the smart a$$ kids that are drinking, but just about every one nose me in good ways or bad. so it ALL GOOD.

Might being going to burnt store tomorrow with someone who goes there, I never been, hows the riding there?

its the same place. It is sandy trails through the woods that go forever. There are flag pond areas where there is mud. Lots of people go there on Sunday. I will be there.

Hows the law enforcement situation there?

Stay away from Burnt Store Rd when riding and you will not be bothered. Cross the road, or bridges, or if you park on the west side of burnt store and you will get a ticket. Stay on the east side with everyone else. Look for the fire station and you get back into the wood accross from there. Have fun!

I'll be out there after 1pm, will be riding all over the place and hanging out at the flag pond where everybody goes.

Does anyone know, is there an entrance to the Yucapan from 41?

yes there was, but the state owns it FWMA not a good place to go

I was just wondering, I always enter off Burnt Store, but have been working my way towards 41 further and further everytime I go and track it on my GPS. I was just wondering where I am going to end up when I get there.

Fun day today i had fun wasn't to happy at the fact of people drinking while driving a 4 wheeler but thats them not me but all in all fun day of ride

Did you get stuck in the flag pond area that everyone hangs out by around 5pm and some guy had to ride it out for you?

nope only got stuck once and some guy pulled me out but i was driving it i left there pretty muddy still could see some red though

I saw some guy riding a sport quad in mud that I wouldn't ride my 4x4 in. He buried it more than once. Very entertaining.

yea its funner to go mudding with a sport lol u get muddyer but its a pain to clean sometimes but i git r done lol heres a picture from today i forgot to clean my helment when i got back

Yep, i have made it all the way there, i have it memorized, but yes, you do have to go into the FMWA area and take the powerlines near andalusia(sp?) and follow that, some parts get very bad withthe whoops, but ut takes you out across from a citrus store i think.

I have gone almost all the way to andalusia and stopped. I will go all the way through when I have someone else with me. Most of the time I ride alone. I was out there today and didn't see another soul.

Let me know when you want to ride, I am usually ride on weekend mornings tho

I was out there for first time Sunday, got there about 10:00 stayed to 1:30, I enjoyed it, started getting a little crowded around noon. Anyone have any maps or layout of the area?

Are any of you parking off burnt store close to the fire station? And if so, are they ticketing anymore?

I always park there by the road and have never got a ticket, I would reccomend pulling back into the woods if you have 4 wheel drive.

We rode out there about 3 weeks ago... was the first time I had been to the "pens" in years!  Great times...

We are going out Superbowl Sunday for a good part of the day.  Should be 8-10 of us in our group.  Last time we went, we parked right along Burnt Store, just past the fire station, and had no problems with cops.

I rode the Yucapan today. We went from Burnt Store Road all the way to 41. First time I went all the way through. We were out there till 11pm. Lots of fun!

for all the mudders that want some fresh mud i was just at the flagpond off burnt store and its wet out there some good looking mud too but where everyone normally drags is really bumpy

looks like a lake too me rite now went out there the other week before my bearings were shot :'( and i got too a flagpond n just turned around but believe it or not there was still people goin on there 2 people went by on an ex and a 4x4 dont remember which one

Anyone know the conditions at Burnt Store? A friend went last sunday and said it was pretty wet. Was gonna go tomorrow 4/17 if it is decent.

I just got back from there 2 hours ago. I'ts alot drier now. The flag ponds are still flooded but you can get around those. It's dry enough to ride whatever you got.

Cool, I'm either going there or North Port tomorrow, cant make up my mind.

Hello everyone, Im new and I was wondering what the Yucapan is like for riding? I live in Cape Coral and I am getting my first quad next month and I have never seen the Yucapan. I know I am going to go out there when I get my blaster but I don't know anyone to ride with.

Welcome to the site! In the winter it is miles and miles of sandy trails with some mud. In the summer It's underwater.

You might be able to ride some of it but is gets really wet.

I was out there, had alot of fun. Very wet, we went through some deep water. Had a blast.
