Title: Ford has filed suit against U.S. diesel engine supplier Navistar International
Post by: Chuck_Norris on January 29, 2007, 07:35:10 AM
DETROIT (Dow Jones)--Ford Motor Co. (F) has filed suit against U.S. diesel engine supplier Navistar International Corp. (NAV) regarding pricing and a contract dispute, a move that could trigger hiccups for the supply of high-profit Super Duty pickup trucks down the road. Ford filed the lawsuit in a Michigan court against Navistar on Thursday, accusing the engine supplier of not complying with a warranty cost-sharing agreement and "unjustifiably" raising prices on a diesel engine used in the F-series pickup truck line. It will be interesting how this pans out

Hmmm, I bet this has nothing to do with the millions Ford has lost due to the 6.0 repairs. Guess they learned their lesson.

Maybe if Ford didn't try to develop their "OWN" fuel and electronic systems for the 6.0 they wouldn't have such a HIGH warranty cost.

From what I know International is using the VT365 (6.0) and has had very few issues with it.  The international is using a 235hp/620ftlbs of torque engine where ford is using 325hp/570ftlbs of torque.

HUMMM  Wonder why they cannot keep head gaskets on these engines????   Ford is pushing these engines at 95% of their peak MAX HP.

Honestly in my opinion Ford hes to eat the warranty costs since they fooled with the design of the engine.

Ford has to find some money somewhere so they can keep funding gay porn because their sales are down 13% in December '06.  ???

the 6.0 is a poorly desgined engine all around. from the lack of head bolts to the EGR cooler(EGR system in general) Any Diesel guy will tell you that you just can not bolt an EGR valve on a Diesel and Expect it to work. sure it is ok for a vehicle that stays on the HWY.  Instead the california nut cases thought it better to come up with Ultra Low Sulfer Fuel not realizing that the process of removing sulfer also removes lubricity properties from the fuel. As far as Ford eating the Warranty Cost. you can bet the duck and weaving is already in the process not to mention the corporate lawyers already have their ducks in a row.
