Title: Ok, we give up Post by: Young Gun on January 07, 2007, 07:29:28 PM Alright, were pissed. Most of you active members know that we are new to ATVs and are looking into buying some. We originally were going to buy from a local dealer here in FL but then had heard about the eBay way. When you buy off eBay you dont pay any dealer fees or tax so you get them alot cheaper. Even with shipping it is cheaper. We have bid on atleast 10 different quads and lost ALL of them. I dont know how or why but I guess we werent meant to have them? We bid on 3 LTR450s, lost them. 2 Kingquads, lost those too. A Ozark and Z250, and you guessed it... we lost em. So then we tried Yamaha, went on eBay bid on a Grizzly 660 and lost it in the last few minutes and bid on a YFZ450 and Blaster and of course no surprise here didnt get them. I dont know if we werent meant to have them? Or maybe we just suck at eBaying? :D But it seems we always loose because someone bids the last second, and I mean seconds. There is usually 30seconds left in the auction and someone bids around 500 bucks so of course we go to bid and bid to low and loose it. Now my dad says he gives up :(. This sucks, and I have no idea why I made this topic lol.

Title: Re: Ok, we give up Post by: r6realtor on January 07, 2007, 07:42:18 PM I maybe wrong here, someone chim in anytime but, how do you get away with not paying taxes? You will not have to pay them on ebay but when you register in Florida and they ask how much you paid or you present them your bill of sale, you will pay taxes then. Unless you just plan on riding them in your backyard? any state park in FL they need a registration, many people are finding this out after the purchase and wishing they just would purchased here in FL. Wasting all there time and effort just find out they have to pay taxes on it anyway. Just trying to save you some trouble!
Title: Re: Ok, we give up Post by: Ida_Mann on January 07, 2007, 07:52:27 PM I would not let youreself get suckered in to the "last minute" bid on ebay,,,usually you ed up spending more than what you intended,,,,keep bidding if you want to go that way, but honestly, I wouldn't trust getting a quad via ebay unless it's still in the crate unassembled.

Maybe I heard them wrong and it was just the fees dealers charge that you can get out of. I have never ever paid any of that crap and I have purchased 7 bikes plus a rhino now. It's all part of negotiating or if you don't want to negotiate go to ARS in okeechobee(spelling?) they don't F around just straight price, some people just don't like to do the back and forth thing, personally I love it, it makes you a stonger person, plus it's great practice for my real estate job ;)
Title: Re: Ok, we give up Post by: FOREMANRON on January 07, 2007, 08:10:50 PM ARS IN OKEECHOBEE IS THE CHEAPEST BUT A LOCAL DEALER IN THE TAMPA AREA HAS MATCHED THERE PRICES TWICE FOR ME
Title: Re: Ok, we give up Post by: digginfool on January 07, 2007, 08:44:06 PM I have a 2002 Raptor 660 that is set up very nice. My knee has really been giving me a lot of problems lately. I rode for three hours yesterday and today I've been icing my knee. It's swollen up like a balloon. I injured it years ago when I rode street bikes and slid into a parked car. Anyway, thinking about selling the Raptor. It has +2 Laeger a-arms with TCS long travel shocks up front, rear rebuilt by TCS, CT Racing pipe, Renthal bars, AC nerfs, grab bar, bumper, full skids, steering damper, Lonestar Racing rear axle, 2 sets of bead locks for the fronts (one shod with Holeshots, the other with GNCCs - BTW, the GNCCs are mounted on Douglas Shamrock 4+1 to skinny the bike up when you're riding XC), one set of bead locks for the rear with Holeshots and a set of Blackwaters on ITP rims. The quad is in excellent condition. I'm thinking somewhere around $5,000.00 for everything, including whatever stock parts I still have (pipe, front shocks, a-arms, tie-rods, etc). If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you pics.

Id@ But they are being sold from dealers, not individual sellers. They have high feedback just for their motorsports store on eBay so I would trust them. Not everyone can afford private property and some people ride to meet other people to ride with by going to group rides. I think were just going to go to a local dealership a pick out some nice bikes, not even worrying about the fees and taxes. I just want to go riding :-\

Title: Re: Ok, we give up Post by: garym on January 09, 2007, 04:02:36 PM get the out of state price and bring it to the local dealer and tel them to match it... save the trip...my friend just bought a foreman that way

If they dont then it was a waste of time :D Title: Re: Ok, we give up Post by: indianjoe on January 09, 2007, 04:16:18 PM Just a warning I have 2 friends that went to Miss. over two years ago and bought quads got letter from state just last year pay taxes and penalties. He was able to negotiate for just the tax. They paid cash for the quads. another thing to think about is alot of the dealers here are tired of this and if you need service you get put at the back of the line if they even agree to work on it. The dealer doesn't have to work on it. just something to think about plus the cost of travel, motel food, gas etc.
And if you go to ride at any state or federal riding area in the state you will have to have the registration and will get hit then.
