Title: Wandering Wiregrass Trail
Post by: Mulchman on December 31, 2006, 09:00:06 PM
Has anyone rode this trail yet? Call me crazy, but the wife and kids want to go riding Monday. This trail system is closer to us. I live in Winter Haven so the closer the better. Will this trail be good for the kids (ages 7 and 13). I am worried about someone coming around a blind corner and getting hit. I am just looking for a relaxing ride with the family.

I live right by this trail and ride it alot. You wont see to many people riding it. Its a good trail as long as you dont mind taking it easy as some of the trail is whooped up. When you hit the big waterholes on the one short stretch you can easily go around them and I would suggest this as some are deep. My 17 year old almost got stuck on his warrior.

Thank you very much IT. Sounds like the trail for me. But the rain forcast looks like today is out of the question. The wife says no way. Tried to tell her the dust would be less, but to no avail. Hopefully next weekend. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Sorry it took so long to post. Went riding at the Wandering Wiregrass Trail on the 7th of January. Passed by the trailhead twice before I found out that the powerline was the trailhead. The family and I had a great time except for the yahoos on the dirt bikes. The riders on atvs were gracious 90% of the time. They slowed down when they passed us so as not to dust us too bad. The dirt bikers flew by so fast that it was insane. They had no respect for any other riders. For a first time in ONF, had a great time with the family.
