Title: Painting Your Ride! Post by: Powelljlk on February 08, 2005, 04:40:37 AM I painted my sons Yamaha Warrior after some extensive high rpm, fine grit sand paper with the new plastic Krylon paint. He has riden it several times since then. And not only did it turn out very nice, it also has maintained a shine with no chipping. I highly recommend the paint, but follow the directions.

Title: Re: Painting Your Ride! Post by: Powelljlk on February 08, 2005, 05:06:56 AM I painted all the plastic. It was originally blue, now its metallic black. I used a pnuematic sander with 600 grit paper. Then cleaned entire parts with alcohol. Let it dry completly, then painted. Its beautiful.

Post by: DierWolf on February 09, 2005, 07:08:28 AM You have to treat the plastic before you can paint it to get rid of all the oils, and then you have to apply an Adhesive promotor before painting.
Sanding it wount help it stick properly. |
