Demonstration Time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We are making our own invitation. 

Need “ALL” the support we can.  Please try, try your best to attend.

The South Florida Water Management District and the Department of Environmental Protection, are celebrating what they call “Progress in the Picayune”.  These are the two government agencies that banned us from riding in South Golden Gate Estates aka Badluck / Squares in Naples.

For those of you who are not aware of the politics between Collier County and the SFWMD, here is the short story.  They screwed us.  For over 30 years this location has been paradise to outdoorsmen from camping, fishing, buggy riding, dirt bikes and ATVs.
After our soon to be former governor - Jeb Bush, decided to add the location to the Everglades Restoration Project and assigned the SFWMD as part of the project planning our riding rights were over.  The restoration project consists of flooding the location south of I-75 to 41. Shortening the story,  The SFWMD had to purchase the paved roads in the Picayune and S. Golden Gate Estates from Collier County in order to go forward with the project. The SFWMD proposed Collier County an estimated 20 million dollars for the paved roads. The County countered and added to the proposal that the SFWMD set aside or find 640 ACRES for OHV use. This was three years ago, both parties signed a binding contract, meeting after rescheduled meeting the SFWMD that owns thousands of acres in SWFL failed to perform. As strict of a county that Collier is with preserving nature and wildlife, county commissioners acknowledge that OHV has been a tradition in Collier county for most residents.  The commissioners are on our side it’s the SFWMD with the DEP that stabbed us in the back.  If we joined together back then and fought hard as a user group, it wouldn’t got out of control as it did.  Understand, the SFWMD fear us, that’s why they show up at almost every OHV meeting to see what we’re up to. They want portray a good public image because they have screwed up so much in Lee and Collier.  I am pretty sure the media will be out there and the tree huggers.  Just like they do to us we will do to them. Also understand that this project is a cover up, how are they going to preserve wildlife by flooding the place. One person that has been on top of all these lies from the SFWMD is Rick V, a true enthusiast fighting from day one. I say it’s time for us to be heard.

This is the tactics that environmental groups use.  Consider it like hand cuffing our selves to trees.  This may not open Badluck / Squares but they’ll realize that we are not going down without a fight. 

Rick V. aka lswjth2, Cary aka miamigirlrider, and I have been fighting hard with local governments to open OHV areas throughout SFL & SWFL,  we have received very little support from members on this site.  We ask that you please try to attend this demonstration.  A peaceful demonstration in regards to the OHV park that they promised.

does anyone know if we trailer our bikes without bringing them off the trailers if we might get ticket for just parking on side of road or do we just protest without the bikes

I will be giving thrumud a "packet of information" for everyone to read and distribute. This will be exposing SFWMD and Fl DEP about all their LIES and how they were supposed to protect our riding in the area and so on. The media will be there and it's my understanding so will Gov. Bush, so this will be a great opportunity to rain on their parade and expose them in front of the public. We really need a good show to pull this through.

Iswjth2 you dont know me but Im new to the site but I met thrumud and think it is a good Idea if we can try something to get more dealers to participate in some of these things what if we can or if someone knows a way to try and see if you as a customer in search of a new bike or quad dont buy from a dealer in a county that opted out of the law go to a county that hasnt like Dade now I know not everyone can take such a ride but I think I can talk to the owner of a local dealer here call World Honda his name is james  cool guy if your looking for a new honda he shipped 2 dirt bikes for a customer for free just because he thought he had both in stock and the guy came down from Port St. Lucie and he only had 1 he is real good people and has good deals with/without service plans. But this is only an idea to get more dealer participation but if anyone know a better way please share it cause we need all the help we can get.

Thrumud knows a couple of the local dealers, im sure he has/will contact them. I will stop by cypress cycle tommorrow,they are a repair shop here in naples and have been very supportive. I am sure they will put out a flyer like they have before and inform their customers. spread the word as best you can....

You need to put more info.What exactly are we doing?How long will we be there?Are we walking around the entrance?Where are we parking?

We will be protesting against SFWMD for not honoring the 640 acre agreement,closing down the Picayune,lying about their dealings,allowing builders to build in the middle of the "restoration"area, but not the atv'rs. I just gave thrumud a "packet of information" to pass around. I asked that he gives one to the media. The real SFWMD will be exposed and all their lies. As for directions, scroll to the first page of this posting, and the directions are on the flyer that thrumud posted. Give them hell folks, and you can park at the picnic area where people will be meeting.

I want to seriously know if anyone is going.I'm not going if noone on this site cares about our riding area's!!
 I went to two spots yesterday; one in Sarasota, and one in Englewood.Both were shut down and police said no more warning.Next time will be court dates issued.If noone cars , then I may go back to street!!

I was told it's your option to bring your ride or not.I don't  know if we'll be able to ride or not.The reason we're going is to protest and fight for more riding land.Please, come and show your support and bring anyone you know that rides!!
