I click on show unread posts since last visit ,and all I see is things for sale very few post's about talkin $h!t everyone is to busy sellin $h!t .I think it is great we are able to post our things for sale.It just seems that people are selling more stuff ,than talking about advancing our sport or securing new places to ride or about all the fun they had riding on their last outing. I was wondering the same earlier today.

I was going through the pictures section  , so many pics deleted on there and the occasional comment from a frustrated member.
 Many no longer visit the site for a variety of reasons . Other less restricted atv sites is one but the primary reason would have to be, the photos deleted by administrator issue.

The no helmet no pic rule is one of the main reasons many dont post here anymore.
You think everybody gradually quit ridin ?  Heck no , it just aggravates folks who take the time to post pics and comments only to have the heads blacked out or  have the whole pic deleted. The weekend ridin pics would generate alot traffic on here .

Posting pics of riders without helmets is not going to tarnish our image.
Those who dont care for or despise ATV's and our sport are going to continue doing so regardless of what we do. Pictures of riders  without  helmets is not offensive ,but adult topics ,pictures , obscene language  are for a child or parent .
Delete that, not riders with out helmets.



For the record , yes helmets should be worn at all times when operating a motorcycle or quad.
There are many that ride quads and street bikes but dont wear helmets when ridin their street cruisers.

There ,the helmet can of worms has been opened ,enjoy the chatter. >:D

I had no idea that "Rule" was in place, last time i checked there's no law saying you have to wear one, it's a personal choice, deleting people's pictures because they choose not to wear a helmet is complete B.S.

The rule I am refering to is about posting pictures on this site.
If you want to post a picture of someone ridin a quad they must have a helmet on. I was not refering to a state rule or anything like that.

Here's the other thing, who's to say that the picture taken was "In Motion" perhaps she stopped, removed her helmet and posed for the picture.


GRRRRR i really dislike it when someone makes artificial rules to tell me what i can and can't do, especially when the activity in question IS LEGAL!!!!!!!!!!!

You know the helmet thing to me is personal choice.  When it comes to my son, there is no choice, HELMET...  When I ride, I personally don't wear a helmet. Perhaps I would if I where going to be hauling a$$, but we mainly mud and trail ride. And for those, oh you are setting a bad example for your child, bs, he knows, no helmet, he no ride.  It kills me though, think of this irony, you can blasting your motorcyle down I-95, without a helmet, but when you drive your truck, you better buckle up.  To me that's just a dumb law for the motorcycles. Personally, when you are driving a motorcycle, esp on public roads and highways, a helmet is a must. But yet, when you are trail riding your ute down a trail at 5 mph, better wear your helmet, yea, that makes perfect sense.....

Well in your case with this pic you can argue that but if you're slinging rooster tails of mud in the air it would be hard to do so.

I believe we should respect the wishes of the person who owns and runs this site.The same disrespect for rules has cost us many riding areas through out the state. I also believe that joining this site you agreed to the terms of use ,and now you dont feel as though you should follow them? :no

I would total agree with you on that point, it is totally up to Mr Bones who runs this site.  You know how some people are, especially the media, they would get a hold of something like that, and say something to the fact, oh just look at these websites, how they promote not wearing helmets.  It's a whole nother world when it comes to perception.....

Let me correct you , I dont agree with the rule at all but I abide by it.
Try to find just one pic that i have posted of some one riding without a helmet, you wont.
I have not disrespected any rules.

As for loss of ridin places you need to do some research on that.
I'll help you ,look up  CERP just for starters that equalled 70,000acres  .
Then you have  land development coupled with idiots ridin wrecklessly on land they didnt own in the first place ie tresspassing and there you have it .
 A very brief explaination of why we are loosing acreage every year.

As for respect , I have not disrespected the site founder in anyway . I simply expressed my view in and open forum which we are on at the moment.
I actually like the site because it is family oriented .

I think that promoting safe riding isn't something that should be debated.  And deleting pictures of someone who is riding without a helmet is a good way to do this.  How many tragic ATV deaths have we heard about this past year?  And what was the common denominator in these horrible accidents?  No helmet.  If you don't wear a helmet when riding its your choice, however, I think when we post pictures on the internet where potentially thousands of people and kids can view, we should set an example by wearing protective gear.

As far as the helmet thing....Its Mr. Bones site and he makes the rules. If he dosent want pictures of ppl riding with out helmets thats his choice. Like he allways tells ppl...If you want to post pics with out helmets on do it on your own site not his..

As for the site looking like the news paper. True....  There hasnt been much in the pics section in a wile (we need the Grizz back.this man could post pics with the best of them)and the where to ride section is slow because there is not that many places to ride in Florida.

And one more thing, Mr Bones said that when he's not around I could be in charge.

So when he's not around, I run things? CAPICHE'?

Every one that posts a pic without a helmet on while riding needs to be suspended from this site for 3 days. It is just stupidity. Even if you just ride through mud and trails you still need a helmet. what if someone comes around a corner and hits you? you die? get severely hurt? It might not be your fault but anything can happen. Anti ATVers dont care what caused accidents, all they look at is helmet, no helmet. And most of the time it is no helmet. Drinking while riding is a bunch of crap too. 2 weeks ago there were 2 Idiots riding a raptor 350 with bud lights in their hands and no helmets. Firts of all 2 people on a raptor 350...............ahhh no. 2nd, Drinking while riding? If it was up to me (which its not) they would be put in front of a firing squad. It is idiots like them that make it illegal everywhere. If i offended you in any way you can kiss my butt. I couldnt care less. Good day.

your PASGT will suffice it is a kevlar based helmet. being a military policeman i have run into people wearing them on motorcycles and there is no issue with the PASGT. make sure your chin strap is buckled.

Anyone who knows me knows my opinion on this. If you ride without a helmet I think you are STUPID.

Anything can happen at any time. If you don't believe that then I feel sorry for you. The wosrt part is the people that have to deal with your bad decission to ride without a helmet. If you are seriously hurt of killed your selfishness and stupidity affects a lot of people. Not to mention the bad press about ATVs. That is my concern. I don't want irresponsible people who don't think about the effects of the actions to ruin my fun. If you want to kill yourself have at it, just don't drag me into it.

I agree with both of you as well. I could make some enemies for this but so be it - I am sure others think it as well and just don't want to say it, if your gonna delete one delete them all. There are many pics here still that don't abide by the "site rules". I beleive that is why it becomes such an issue. One persons gets deleted but someone elses dosen't.

Anti-ATVer's do not care if you have a helmet on, they only care that someone was injured. If someone gets killed on an ATV and was wearing helmet they are going to get just as much bad press as the one that wasn't wearing a helmet. If you think otherwise you are the fool. Of course accidents can happen to anyone and I make that educated decision to not wear one. I ride in the mud, water and trails most of the time with big groups or going very slow. I ride because I enjoy seeing the trails, feeling the air on my face, being able to see everything around me not boxed up and limiting to my view and feeling unconfortable so that in the off chance something does happen my injuries might be less. I would much rather ride free and enjoy the outdoors while I can. Can something happen? Of course but if something does happen then so be it but no one is going to lose any riding spots because of my death without a helmet. You will lose riding spots due to careless riders that leave trash everywhere, have no regard for the land or the people in it.

I even wear a full face motorcycle helmet when I take a  shower (Close your eyes and visualize that, or do I need to post THAT picture).

I like to be safe at all times. Plus, I'm like a 3 year old at an easter egg hunt, I fall down alot.

im not gonna express my views toward the helmet thing but the FOR SALE section should not be messed with. do you all think that if someone isnt allowed to post there they will immediatly join discussions on preserving out sport? your gunna get a bunch of people leaving the site for too many rules. seems to me that there is very strong political agenda that affects everything we do on here. i have sold 1 dirtbike and bought 2 atvs from listings on this site. there are some good deals sometimes, the for sale section helps people get into the sport. thats where you start in this sport right? you have to have an atv or dirt bike. making it only for contributing members will preety much end the possibility of any one finding anything for sale on here.

If someone thinks I frantically review every posted photo looking for helmetless riders, that's not the case. Not all posted photos are reviewed by myself or moderators. That is why one may be deleted and another may not. If it is reported to us, it gets reviewed and possibly deleted. I can't remember the last time one was reported. I really don't make a big deal about it. As with any questionable content, you have the option of reporting it to the mods for review.

You have a right to choose what you want to wear unless you go to a riding area with certain rules. Freedom of choice is a good thing. This site promotes safe riding and a positive image for ATV riders and this typically involves wearing safety gear.

If someone is reviewing the Photo Gallery or any other section and sees "[attachment deleted by admin]", 100% of the time this is because every few months or so I have to delete attachments older than 90 days or 120 days, it all depends on the server space and bandwidth usage at the time. If I were to remove a post with a questionable attachment, I would remove the entire thread and you wouldn't see that message. If you want your pics to be on the site for long than that, you'll have to host it on another server. Contributing Members do have the option to post to a photo gallery that is not deleted over time. The classifieds section is free and that's the way it will stay for personal ads weither it's your first post or 1000th post.

I put my helmet on when I started reading this thread.  The boss keeps coming by shooting me dirty looks.  I don't know if its the helmet or the fact I'm on the internet when I should be working.

I always wear a helmet when I am clubbing seals also!

Make sure is a full face helmet, the club spatter from impact can hurt!!!!!   lol

It has saved my life a few times. I probably don't wear it as much as I should though.
On my atc I endoed into a drainage ditch about 5 feet down onto a concrete pipe square
on my head. It certainly made my day to swim out unassisted and ride the rest of the day. :)
I've often wondered about the lack of foam in it though, I guess the web is sufficient.

You know I think everyone on this damn post is cracked out. I have never seen more lil babies in one room crying about this or that... And I have 3 kids! And as for Rico he is just a pansy he could never hurt a baby harp seal he doesn't have the Cojones to do anything. He's scared to go riding with a nice proper group like the CTM crew. We have NEVER done anything out of line while riding we're like a bunch of nuns out there.  8) Anyway I list on the for sale page and pretty much any where else I think I can stir up some trouble  :-* did I mention Rico is going to be the first transvestite to have a baby?

I will video tape the baby harp seal tearing the pit bull apart when It happens to show you how dangerous baby harp seals can be.

And yes, I will be wearing a helmet!!!

That would be pretty cool I mean I would think that the pitbull would have more of the advantage seein how it has 4 legs and can move faster  but if you will get the video I think it would be worth watching! With all of your good ideas Rico why don't you design a fullface doggy helmet so the pitbull won't get hurt as bad it would be alot cheaper than having to buy a new one every time you wanna see which one would win.

I have a video of a harp seal attacking a magician. It was worse that the tiger attaking Siegfred and Roy. Pure horror.

hey 450rcrazy, you spend way too much time on here. i see why you want more interresting topics but give it a break. if it werent for the for sale section the site wouldnt do near as good. there are like maybe 50 of us that are on here all the time. the chat box was cool for all of us that are on here all the time. it kept us happy. but it cant run it so.......

look at my stats. where does the for sale section rank? 5th in posts and 3rd in activity. i spend much more time in the open discussion and crap than there. you just dont post much. i post on bout every subject. ive only spent a total of 9d, 12h, and 12m online.

Hell I'm on here more than Fox and it seems no one has a problem with what I post. Or if they do they just don't say anything.  Last time I checked there wasn't any rules about what you can put in the forsale section so what does it matter who posts more ? I think the biggest thing about this site is to see who can start more trouble and with who...Sorry guys I think I won that one :) And like Fox said we wouldn't post half as much if the shout box was still here but we can't run it b/c there are soo many people and the bandwith won't allow it to run. Classifieds are good b/c not only does it help people sell the stuff when they really need money it also lets members on here get good deals (((SOMETIMES))) pretty much if ya don't like it don't read it and if Fox posted something about it he's asking legit questions or is like everyone else just trying to find out more. There are plenty of people on here that don't have the money for something you have listed but will still ask. Ok thats my .02 have I pissed anyone off yet???  :P
