Title: Re: sweeet Post by: SoFlaEiger on March 28, 2005, 06:47:34 PM Quote That is not a cobra and its not running anywhere close to 10s I agree. Its a a SOHC GT motor and I would be willing to bet my house that its barely in the low 13s ;) sweet set up though!! Title: Re: sweeet Post by: speedman8903 on March 28, 2005, 06:58:01 PM if u guys dont believe me then dont but i kno he is. thats his old 1 (car) he got a new cobra in silver. this 1 (silver) 4 sure is runnin in the low 10s.
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 01_DS650 on March 28, 2005, 07:09:23 PM well the one in the picture is a gt. But if he has an 03-04 with say a kb 2.4 and spray then that might run low 10s but thats big $$$$$
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: speedman8903 on March 28, 2005, 07:11:28 PM he got the cash trust me ;D dont kno how he gets it but he got it.
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 01_DS650 on March 28, 2005, 07:14:02 PM this is the kinda car it would take to run low 10s and lets just say if god drove a cobra this would be it

Title: Re: sweeet Post by: tampaboy813 on March 29, 2005, 04:10:34 AM Quote looks good, ima get info on the car 2morrow. but i kno dat his mom told me dat it was runnin in the low 10s. didnt the 2003 and up come with the blowers stock? if so I know they dont run 10's off the showroom floore.... [smiley=abduct2.gif] Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 01_DS650 on March 29, 2005, 10:33:45 AM yes they do come with an eaton blower stock and they run high 12s stock but a kenne bell is a more efficent blower that car run more boost which means more power
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: TurboBanshee_kid on March 29, 2005, 07:04:27 PM 01_DS650 YOU THINK YOU KNOW IT ALL [smiley=Clap.gif]
LET THE KID POSTED SOME PIC'''S OF A GT [smiley=laugh.gif] WITH A SUPERCHARGER IN IT.RUNNING THOSE HIGH 12'S OR THOSE LOW 13"S THE GT OWNER SHOULD GET SOME NITTO'S FOR $500 http://www.nittotire.com/ Title: Re: sweeet Post by: Old_School on March 30, 2005, 06:12:21 AM Ya that's a GT with a vortech kit on it. Very common. With sticky tires you can get a blown GT to run low 12's, high 11's. There are some blown GT's in the 10's but with built bottom ends and 15lbs+ of boost. I hope soon that my car will be in the 11's on motor(98 cobra). -Mark
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 01_DS650 on March 30, 2005, 04:35:15 PM my grandma has a 96 cobra conv stock it has like 8k miles and me and my friend take it out to lay down a little rubber now and then. what kinda mods you got on your 98. takes some $$ to run that on motor
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: Old_School on March 30, 2005, 04:42:27 PM The motor is stock(heads, cams, intake) I just have all the bolt-ons. But here's alittle run down of what's on it....
Long tube headres Off Road H pipe pullies, throttle body cold air intake chip flowmaster muffs 4.56 gear ;D drag suspension slicks and skinnies some weight reduction Just redynoed the car last Friday and it put down 304rwhp and 294rwtq. Right down before the dyno I went 12.23@110.44 with a 1.59 60ft. It's fun launching at 7000rpms on slicks. 8) -Mark Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 01_DS650 on March 30, 2005, 06:21:26 PM that must be crazy launching a 7000. You should spary i hear cobra that year take it pretty good. and post some picks of the car on slicks and skinnys and maybe doing a burn out. Sweet car man ;D
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: Old_School on March 30, 2005, 08:04:22 PM (http://www.atvflorida.com/files/attachments/wheelup3.JPG)
Thanks for the compliment. My friend was trying to time it right just as the tires are at the highest point. This pic he was too early. Usually both tires are about 6" off the ground. Ya slicks and 7000rpms is fun. It feels like getting rear ended by a truck. Sudden impact of acceleration. Once I hit 11's then I'm gonna build the bottom end and either spray it or slap a vortech on it and shoot for mid 10's. -Mark Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 1slowfox on March 31, 2005, 07:24:06 AM Quote That is not a cobra and its not running anywhere close to 10s I agree , I dont see that car running anywhere close to the 10's .. I know many people w/ vortech on there 98 ^ cobra's and Gt's and there running mid 12's and if there built better there into the 11's ! Ed Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 1slowfox on March 31, 2005, 07:33:36 AM (http://img45.exs.cx/img45/5056/motor58kn.jpg)
(http://img45.exs.cx/img45/3623/mot15px.jpg) (http://img168.exs.cx/img168/2690/williedyno6nf.jpg) Just to let everyone know the reason the power curve dropped like that is because He let off at 959hp because at 1000hp the dyno will pretty hit the brakes .. easy way to put it .. This Look more like a -10 second car , driven back and forth from Fla , to Ny / NJ and Washington ... ;D , sorry had to ! Ed Title: Re: sweeet Post by: Old_School on March 31, 2005, 11:06:59 AM Quote I agree , I dont see that car running anywhere close to the 10's .. I know many people w/ vortech on there 98 ^ cobra's and Gt's and there running mid 12's and if there built better there into the 11's ! Ed That IS said. If I see a blown 4v running mid 12's that's pathetic. If I had a blower, damn sure I'd be low 11's atleast. Some people just slap parts on a car and expect the car to run without any research on what works best. People ask me all the time if I have nitrous. I hand them the keys and tell them to search the car. If they find it the car is theirs. -Mark Title: Re: sweeet Post by: 1slowfox on March 31, 2005, 05:47:29 PM thats exactly the point alot of them throw a blower and a tune and a fuel pump in it and expect it to run 10's lol...
U can get alot of 3200# 350-400 car into the -11's with somesusp . and sticky tire if the setup it right .. ;D or you can get a 2800# coupe w/ rought 450-500 on the bottle to goes 9's with the right setup .. alot of people build motor then susp .. the back asswards way ! if u ask me ! Ed Title: Re: sweeet Post by: dirty1 on April 06, 2005, 10:19:33 PM this is a 32valve im building for a 91 coupe, forged crank, eagle rods, je pistons, motorsport cams, ferrea valves, pro power springs, its also seeing a ati procharger with 18 pounds of boost, it has an accel dfi for managment. its beeing built for handling...
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: dirty1 on April 06, 2005, 10:21:54 PM heres the bottom end and rods.....
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: dirty1 on April 06, 2005, 10:26:21 PM thats its home on the right...the one on the left is getting a 351 stroked to a 408 and a vortec mondo, both are built to the gills, one is for drag and the other is for turning
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: Old_School on April 07, 2005, 07:11:43 AM I've always wanted to put a mod motor in a coupe. Did you go with a alum or iron block on the 32v? It looks like iron. That thing is gonna scream. -Mark
Title: Re: sweeet Post by: dirty1 on April 07, 2005, 11:25:03 AM its and all aluminum 32v from a 98 cobra, it was powder coated black. the swap itself wasnt bad, the headers, the k member, and the tranny mount for the t56 were the only hard things..
