If you have an '06 you have to make a slight adjustment on the fork towers (notching) to use the BARE kit. Title: Re: Honda 450 R Gusset kit ? Which one is best ? Post by: dreth on October 28, 2006, 07:21:28 AM it took me almost 2 year to crack my stock frame and then less than 6 months to destroy it after it was gusseted. i say leave it alone unless its broke. just my Opinion

I've seen the Bare kit it lookedIf you have an '06 you have to make a slight adjustment on the fork towers (notching) to use the BARE kit. almost to big but it looked good. Lonestar has one it seems to have the most piece's. thanks for the info Title: Re: Honda 450 R Gusset kit ? Which one is best ? The good news is that nothing is bent or seperating just cracked. How did you destroy your frame after the kit ? was it to rigid ? Title: Re: Honda 450 R Gusset kit ? Which one is best ? If you can weld, here's some pictures on a do it yourself gusset project. http://www.trx450r.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=18991&hl=gusset Title: Re: Honda 450 R Gusset kit ? Which one is best ? I had my quad 18 months no cracks. I tore it down, installed a Bare gusset kit and had it powder coated, in about 6 or 7 months it was cracked in half on both sides just behind the upper motor mount. unless it's cracked already I would leave it alone. Title: Re: Honda 450 R Gusset kit ? Which one is best ? Post by: Mrs.Nightbreed on October 28, 2006, 08:30:14 PM Walsh. I second that. I don't know much about BARE kits with the TRX's but another member of this site got a YFZ gusset kit from them and his frame broke completely off at the rear shock. The Walsh kit has gusset for that spot. We use Walsh kits for every quad we fully gusset and have not not had a problem.Title: Re: Honda 450 R Gusset kit ? Which one is best ? Post by: Fox17 on October 28, 2006, 08:52:25 PM they need to make them stock with aluminum or chromoly. much stronger.

It helps knowing thats all you use and never have any problems. THANK'S !! Title: Re: Honda 450 R Gusset kit ? Which one is best ? Post by: Exmx54 on October 31, 2006, 05:17:54 PM Bare performance is junk.. the frames are stronger stock than with Bare, they just gusset random spots. Walsh is the way to go
