Title: Be careful riding in Big cypress/Rangers are watching
Post by: lswjth2 on October 15, 2006, 11:35:01 AM
If you decide that you want to ride out in Big Cypress, remember the following:

This is not an ATV PARK, it's a hunting/wildlife preserve
speed limit is 15 MPH ENFORCED
The swamp buggies that are in there have no brakes, AND REQUIRE TIME TO STOP
NO OPEN LIQUOR CONTAINERS ALLOWED
ONLY STAY ON MARKED TRAILS
DO NOT MOLEST WILDLIFE
NO DOUBLE RIDING
YOU MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
THE ATV MUST HAVE A FLORIDA TITLE
YOU MUST TAKE A 30 MIN OHV OPERATORS COURSE
YOU MUST HAVE WITH YOU THE BIG CYPRESS OPERATORS DRIVERS LICENSE
YOU MUST HAVE THE ATV REGISTERED WITH THE PARK SERVICE AND PAY THE 50.00/STICKER
Please respect private property owners.

Remember that if you go into someones private camp, and you have a firearm, even during hunting season, this is TRESSPASSING WITH A FIREARM AND COULD BE CHARGED WITH A FELONY.

Please OBEY ALL LAWS WHEN VISITING BIG CYPRESS

I also forgot to mention that if you a sport bike, the terrain is not really suitable for this. The front tire must have at least 7 inches of tread on the ground, and again 15 mph enforced.
