There are so many registered users on this site, but so few actually contribute to this site.  If you ask me, that's pretty sad. :'(

As sites go, this is my favorite site, and I am sure the same is true for many of you.  We find so much information, always have a good laugh.  I feel like I have really made some cool friends on this site, and although I may not ride with them, but hope to in the future.  I have learned so much from this site, and truly love it.

Imagine if this site was gone, man that would suck.  What would we do all day,lol. 

You all may recall recently when there was a band width issue with this site, and Mr. Bones was immediately on the problem.  It appears now that this server will need to be updated.  How do I know this, because I am a contributing a member, and all members received this email.  Also, only 14 of us have contributed to this site in the past 12 months and in comparison to the amount of people that post on this site, that's nothing.  You don't see Mr. Bones constantly asking for donations and/or contributations, and I hope he does not mind that a placed this post, but I feel that it's important that we all support this site. 

It's only $30 per year, man you will spend that on gas for a weekend ride.  This site is well worth the $30.  I can tell you from experience, Mr. Bones is on top of issues with this site.  I am a member of other sites, and never get the response that I get from Mr. Bones, not even close. 

So come on people, lets support our site.  It really is our site, it's where we all come to discuss, laugh and find out whats going on.

I was going to contribute 2 weeks ago until I saw that it was a recurring payment yearly.....If I could donate a "one time payment"...then decide next year if I want to contribute again I would do it. That is just me.

send a check or money order. thats what he told me to do since i dont have paypal.

I have been a contributing member from day one....actally I think I signed up twice :o

I see alot of post, whereas, people state "I think it's kind of sad that we don't support ATV groups, and/or agendas".  I think that is more sad that 56 reads, and only 4 post on this issue.  I understand your comment Joe regarding the renewing, I was a little taken back by that at first, but once I became a registered member of the site, and seeing how much I was on this site, too me it's worth it.  Hell, I signed up about say 4 months ago, and I sent another $30 today.  Why, because this site is important to me, and heck, I don't even rank {total post} with most people.  I just think it is great site to come discuss issues, talk about things, and even find things that you need.  Just like when I saw someone needed a filter for their pool.  Hell, I gave it to them, because they were a member of this site. 

Also, you know Joe, or anyone for that matter, if that is a major concern the auto-renewing, bring it up to Mr. Bones, we all know he is very responsive and reasonable.  Perhaps he could change that, the only problem with that, would people re-register every year, or would they not.  I don't know much about running a web-site, but I know that it must take time. I also know if one needs to upgrade a server, that takes bucks. We all know that....

I don't have any problem with it, cheropride. It's all good.

If someone didn't want a recurring payment, they could just sign up, then cancel. I added a new cancellation button to the sign up page. Take a look.

It's each individuals' perogative as to if or when they want to contribute and I don't think anyone should be pushed to send in their money. if they want to contribute then great, but they shouldn't be essentially bashed for coming to the site and not sending in money. This is a business and it does generate revenue. i know it started out without any investor support and I think that's great. That Bones has turned a dollar on it , also great. isn't that part of the American dream? But to say it's sad that some don't wish to send money is to me offensive. I've been a member for years also, but don't send money. I'm sure the site is making enough with all the advertisements,etc. Free enterprise is a great thing, and i'm glad the site is here, but a guilt trip for donations isn't the way to go. Everyone has the opportunity to decide if he/she wants to send money and they can do it as they please. I also like Costco, but I'm not going to send them money either. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion, but putting someone down because theirs doesn't match yours is wrong. Money is not the only way to support this site. Visiting which draws in more advertisement is also supporting the site.

I setup a new member group to those who have contributed more than $30 at one time or another. It's called 'Contributing Member Plus'. I also changed the maximum number of PMs allowed to 300 for CMs and 450 for CM plus members. Thanks guys.

Oh yeah. I also simplified the CM signup form so you can input your name here on the forum and I'll also get your shipping address from paypal so I can mail some stickers out. Thanks!

I am making out my check as we speak even though my heart is with www.atvmiaxtreme.com but we are all basically supporting the same sport.

As for the comments made before by debate this, I FEEL MORE SORRY that your crew has soooo many registered user but only 4 of you attend your OHV Meeting.

Now thats sad.... Look how many people love japping away on here but how many care to save our sport? how many emails have you sent our Commissioners? have you contacted any media outlet?

And yes the excuse of "I WORK I CANNOT ATTEND" is old... If you cant attend volunteer yourself someother way, write an email, write a letter, call your commissioners, do clean ups, get the media involved.

Just wanted to respond to debatethis...

When I found out that there were only 14 contributing members on this site, I found that really low for the number of members on this site.  I did not mean to bash anyone, but to say that Mr. Bones is making money off this site, I find that a little hard to believe.  He had to need the advertisers on this site, with only 14 contributing members in the last 12 months, if I do the math, that's only about $420.00 for a year.  Also, I would imagine that these advertisers don't pay awhole lot to be on this site, and in all honesty, it's none of my business. 

Please understand one thing, I don't even know Mr. Bones, and it was not him that came here asking for contributions, it was something that I thought I would share.  He didn't even know I posted this, until I did. 

When I personally think of all the people I met on this site, and all of the information I learned from this site, $30 per year is well worth it. (Bad at math, but what is that equal out to, $2.50 per month - well worth it) The site needs to be upgraded, and that's why this came up.  I would hate to see this site to be gone, or crash, due to the fact, it could not be upgraded.

I do have a tendency to get a little hyper, so if I had offended anyone, please accept my apologies.  I really just wanted more support for this site, and just wanted to get the message out there.  I sincerly thought, that once you all knew what Mr. Bones was up against, more people would contribute.  And from what I read here, some did and that's great!

I for one am going to fight for what cost me and my family so much, I have 4 atvs with many modifications done on it, paid too much taxes on them and now registration fee and I cant take it out of my garage...BS.....

Nothing wrong w/ what you said Chero.  We all enjoy this site.  And there's no reason to not contribute.  Regardless of if Mr. Bones is making money.  He pays himself for this site and all that goes along w/ it.  If ppl are irritated that he's making money from the site I call that jealousy.  He works a regular job like the rest of us then comes home and puts out our fires on here.  So what's wrong w/ making a little money for his second job.  I don't know anyone else here that would do what it takes to keep this running for us for free.  It's alot of hassle and frustration at times for him I'm sure.  I don't know if he is making money for this but really ppl who cares. 

The big Q's are do we enjoy the site?  Have we met some ppl to ride w/?  Have we met other families to share in our sport?  Do we still get to come to this site and enjoy posting our pics and joking w/ each other?  This is one of my entertainment spots when I get home from work.  I don't know too many other forms of entertainment that are free and this one is mighty cheap for the daily enjoyment I get.

Good lord QT how long did it take you to clean that poo off your nose? Did you atleast check out Mr. Bones prostate while you were up there and save him some money?
