Title: Questionsss??
Post by: MgOnZo700 on September 24, 2006, 11:07:31 PM
Ok, Lets say I have tires that are 20-11-9, would a tire that is 22-11-9 fit on the same wheel? And also i am installing a snorkel on my atv but I would like to know where the tube of the airfilter would go. If I tak off the filter and I put the tube though there than there wouldnt be an air filrter. I dont understand How do you connct the snorkel to the airbox. And last question.......is it normal for my atv to stall sometimes when going through some water (not deep). If its not can you tell me some advic in what I should check or do so it doesnt do that? Sorry for all the questions.

The tires will fit.

Dont know what your asking on the snorkle

The reason your bike is stalling is because water is touching the  spark plug wire. Take off the wire and get dyelectric grease and put alot in the sparkplug boot then put it back on. It should stop the stalling.

It is possible that the spark plug is getting wet. Put dielectric grease on it, not to mention all electrical connections. As for stalling, it is NOT safe to run a stock atv under water. (if you're riding over say, the engine) You need many modifications to do so. I would start by snorkeling it, but I'd need to know what kind of atv you're riding. It is also NOT a good idea to remove the air filter. As for the tire, it will fit.

Thanks guys, its a kymco Mxu 250, What is Dyelectric grease and where can I get it? I also have a Honda foreman but for some reason I prefer to ride the kymco. I have had it for 2 years now and it has 900 miles on it and I still have not had a problem with it. It goes through water as good as the foreman does. And I saw a 250 sport with a snorkel so I said why not. Anyways I love my kymco mxu 250 the best atv I have ever had comparing to a 2005 honda foreman and a honda 250r. Sorry if I went of topic.

You can get dielectric grease at an autoparts store, they come in tiny little packets though. I wish I had a sport and a ute, I'd be putting some huge Outlaws on that ute. But, may I ask how in the heck it's better than a 250r??

Thanks alot. Well you cant really compare it to a 250r is just that It doesnt get stuck as much as the 250r and that the kymco has never had a problem and the honda has had 3 problems and they both are 05's. And every weekend I pull out a 24 foot boat with 2 engines. I mean I wasnt expecting that atv to be this good, but honestly I rather have this atv than any other in its class. And I have heard the same from everyone that I know that has one. The salesman who sold it to me which is actually the owner of a polaris dealer down here, said that it was an experimental branch that Honda came out with to see if they would sell as much with another name. hey beats me but im glad to have bought this atv.

They haven't made 250rs for atleast 10 years, do you mean a 250ex? Then I could believe it. Kymco is not owned by honda. That engine must bog pretty darn bad with that boat behind it.

yea my bad the ex. I dont know if its made by honda or not but i dont really care that just wut the guy said and i dont believe him either. And no it doesnt bog at all with the boat behind it.

i agree with you on the reliability. i have an 06 mxu 300 and this thing is awesome. im gonna try and put some 26 inch mudlites on it, hopefully wont loose too much power. i think they are a sub[division of arctic cat because if you look at the arctic cat250 its nearly identical to the mxu.

And that's actually because arctic cat are using alot of parts from the kymco, not the other way around. If you look at an arctic cat 250 engine it will say Kymco on it. The 400s and 500s will say Suzuki on them. The 650 V2 is a Kawasaki, 650 H1 is the only one with a top-end and tranny developed by arctic cat for extreme low-end torque. And then the 700 EFI is the KQ. :/ lol sorry if I got off-topic. Anyway, the cutting out is probably water splashing onto electronics. I would get the dielectric grease like said, don't worry about getting a snorkel.
