Title: Prayers needed.............
Post by: Alba450 on September 22, 2006, 10:00:41 PM
Tonight I realized how dangerous cars can really be.  Around 7:50 pm my dad & I were going to Jeorge's Sea food Grill in Largo.  But I saw cop cars and paramedics all over 8th Ave. & Clearwater-Largo rd.  This is a 1st time i've seen a car wrapped around a tree.  There was a dark green Lincoln 2 door wrapped almost ALL the way around a LARGE oak tree.  people said their was 2 guys in the car.  It was impossible to fit 1 person because how the car was twisted & shredded by the crash.  Firefighters cut off the top of the car(roof) to get the injured people out.  it took them like 10min. just to get everything out of the way to get them out safely.  I saw 1 guy in a strectcher. 2 paramedics were giving him CPR for a LONG time.  I knew he wasnt going to make it because the medic was pushing on his chest soo hard that he was ready to break his ribs!  But then I saw the 2nd injured man in a sretcher & the medics were rushing him to a ambulance.  He also was injured severley and a small chance of survival.  I spoke with some people who saw some of the crash.  They said the car was flying thorugh the intersection getting Airborn! and spun out(4-5 times) and got wrapped around the oak tree.  I hope these 2 guys are going to make it.

My prayers go out to their family........Checkout the news if any information realesed.

Again I pray for the survival of the 2 men in the crash.

Prayers sent but it sounds like they were driving wreckless to begin w/.  For those of you kids out there that think racing around is cool pay attention.  This is the kind of stuff that happens.  I'm just thankful that they didn't hurt anyone else in the process of their 'joy ride.'

Alba for future reference.  The actual procedure of CPR is not like what you learn in class.  Most of the time ribs are broken in the process and the actual compression of the chest is as deep as you saw.  I had to do it in HS when my neighbor had a heart attack taking the trash out.  It was gross hearing things break.  I thought I had done something wrong and hurt him.  The paramedics told me I did exactly as I was supposed to.  This is nothing you want to have to perform and unless EMS arrives most of the time the patient doesn't make it from CPR and breathing alone.

Keep us posted on the story.
