Title: Wagon Wheel - Bluefield, WV Post by: JackL on September 22, 2006, 01:13:52 PM Just returned from West Virginia. I have to say, the 15 hour ride there was well worth it!
What an incredible place. They even have an ATV bar. :) LOL, one of the locals gave me a jar of moonshine when I asked where I could get a bottle of JD. The brand new cabin with a smoking hot shower and satellite TV. $35 a head. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3973.jpg) The Wagon Wheel. Great breakfast and plenty of beer in the coolers. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_4004.jpg) What a sight to wake up to. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_4011.jpg) Wes hill. It sure doesn't look like it is 60 degrees climb in the picture. Two years ago my buddy Wes made it to the very top before tumbling his new Vinson 600 feet down end over end. It is my spare parts bike now. :) (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3974.jpg) Dan up on top of Wes hill. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3975.jpg) Another great climb. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3978.jpg) The only place my phone worked. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3980.jpg) Now much room for errors in this place. :) (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3982.jpg) Creek riding is the BEST! It is also COLD. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3985.jpg) Creeks are king!! (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3989.jpg) Mike, Dan and the creek. (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3990.jpg) I can't get enough of the creek!! (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_3994.jpg) Mike doing doughnuts on a large chunk of slate in the creek. This is unreal FUN! (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/kr-yppy/wagonwheel/Img_4001.jpg) It is unfortunate that most of the treacherous riding couldn't be photographed due to needing both hands to stay alive, and the effects of the rough terrain on my poor old digital camera. We had a couple of disposables that should have some insane stuff on it, including a guys brand new forty mile, 800 Sportsman that was in a little ball after tumbling down the stairsteps. If you ever go, take a GPS!! Even with mine I got lost up on a mountain when I went out for a quick spin alone near dusk. It was worth it when I ran across a giant pair of whitetails and a flock of 50 fat turkeys. They should make one that shows elevation on the tracking screen 3D style... What a place. I'm thinking of moving there. Title: Wagon Wheel - Bluefield, WV Post by: Bigscrb15 on September 24, 2006, 04:11:05 PM looks awesome, any more info on location and the lodge u stayed at?
Title: Re: Wagon Wheel - Bluefield, WV Post by: JackL on September 24, 2006, 10:38:17 PM Sure, the website for the place is: http://www.wagonwheelpinnaclecreek.com/
It is right next to the Hatfield/Mcoy trails. In fact, they are suppose to be joining up with them soon, which will wreck the place with their rules... Plenty of great campsites with hookups for dirt cheap all around there as well. The atv bar: http://www.atv-riders-paradise.com/ When I go back, I will camp there. I hope to have some more pics in a day or two that will really show off the place. Man I wish it wasn't 15 hours away.... Title: Re: Wagon Wheel - Bluefield, WV Post by: SpringHill Riderz on October 01, 2006, 12:17:19 PM That looks awesome. Creek riding is the best, I just love being near moving cold water, dont ask why :D

Title: Re: Wagon Wheel - Bluefield, WV Post by: JackL on March 28, 2007, 11:11:57 AM i used to live in west virginia.... damn i loved that place.... It is on my top three places to go when Broward finally finishes going down the drain. I have to find the pictures from the disposable cameras we had on the trip. Some of the things I saw end experienced were just unbelievable. Another thing, the people are so damn friendly it makes you think you are back in time...
