Inquiring minds want to know..... How was opening night, and who won?

If I close my eyes, I picture a trailer with Brewmasters quad on it leaving the parking lot, only the quad has no tires left on it.

Derek's Throttle hung and he had a get off and his bike crashed into the wall (DNF) for the night after the 1st heat.  That guy is cursed with the worst luck I have ever seen. It's crazy!!

i went out to spectate the first race of the season since i dont have a ride ready yet..

rick did an awesome job out there the track is really nice makes dade city look like a toilet bowl

the turn out was good alot of people alot of riders it was a really good time from a spectators point of view and it seemed really well organized especially for the first night out after reopening

i cant wait till my bike is done so i can start participating again im really excited about racing in this new organized club from the way it looked last night it can only get better from here

No, Doug uses the same ATVflorida screen name as his wife. His wife races in the intermediate class and Doug races in the Open Class.

There were alot of new faces at Thunderbowl last night. It was a great turnout, this thing seems to be growing more and more, I am excited about that. Last night I got to race with a new guy named Kirk Kennedy, a real classy guy and had a blast in the heats against him. I hope he comes around more often, he is an excellent rider, and a super nice guy as well. I was glad that at least in the beginning, we had 12 in the Open class, I was beginning to worry that that class would be small and not very exciting to watch. The other classes were loaded and I think there were about 35 of us total last night.  Hopefully that number will continue to grow more and more.

Brian (Bandit350), One of these times you need to come down to Ocala with us man, I'm sure you'll have a blast.


Tim(Quad32X), Sorry you had to check out early, you missed some good racing.

dont poke the bear man.. dont poke it!  ;) The web site will be updated later today. I didnt get any pics of the main race winners, everyone hauled tail before I could get better/new pics. Also If you have pics, pick out the best of the best and send them to me.

Last but not least, Thanks Brady for the good job you and your staff did. Everyone was awesome and worked with the league, it was awesome.


And I punked all of you with the BrewMaster Game!!! SUCKERS!!! HAHAHAAHA!

Last night was great. I just need to figure out how to get the quad to hook. Looks like this is going to be a great season. Brady great job on getting the track up and ready for all of us. Scooter and Benny great race.

And poor ole Steve. Thats the second time that track has bit him. He looks kinda funny with that black eye though. ;)

Great night of racing the first turn out was really good. We had a great time with everyone and our kids loved watching you all race then they talk about what they are going to change on there next race.
   Dave. Chris, Brady and crew thanks for the hard work to make this possible for all of us.

It was a good night for 250R's. There was a new guy who won in the beginner class on one. He was the only one in that class on a 250R. They seem to be making a little bit of a comeback. For me, its the best bike I have and since we are in a series, I will be on it for every race we do.

  As of Sunday he was feeling better. He and I talked on the phone several times Saturday night so my focus wasn't 100% on racing. Nevertheless,  opening night was great. C everybody in Jasper!

Wasnt there some really fast guy on a 4 stroke that got the holeshot on everyone and led them until he spun and won the second heat he was in by like a straight away or something!!!  Who was that guy!!??

    yes there was a guy who did that but you have to win the main to get credit and he wasn't able to stick around for the race that counts!  Only if you win the main do you get a "W" in the win column... ;D

That was David Bohnstadt and he wasn't in my heats, I won both of mine and the main as well. We split the Open class for the qualifyers and I was dissapointed he couldn't hang around for the main. I was looking forward to going heads up with him.

By the way, when are you bringing the sand mountain crew back, I still have never gotten a chance to go heads up with you either. I'll be ready for you JT, come get some.

 I'm sorry I was able to get up and run with you in the main. You were clearly in a zone all to yourself and I was riding like Brewmaster ;D and my setup was a mess. I will make it interesting for ya at Jasper!  ;D

I think your talking about 01ZX12R on a YFZ. He was with Dreths camp. They rode hardrock all day then came over and raced flattrack. Great bunch of guys.

I hear ya Dave, The series still has a long way to go. At this point anything can happen so I am just going to keep working. I have to change alot on the bike for Jasper. It should be some great fun.  8)

Yeah. Bohnstadt had to leave so he could drive to Pax and get some rest before the race on Sunday. I talked to him before he left, and he was wanting to stay bad. The funny part is the first thing he said was "those guys on the internet are going to be talking s@#t about me leaving early." Too funny.

Na, not talking smack just dissapointed, he is an excellent rider, and I haven't gotten to race him still. He looked fast and seemed to find some good lines out there. I was looking forward to squaring off with him and then I saw he and Kirk Kennedy (Not brewmaster) leaving, which I understand since it was close to 11:00 by then. But there will always be next time. Its good to see more and more people coming out. I hope this thing grows to be much bigger than the GFTL I used to race.

P.S.       Brady, I hope the rest of the points races can be on nights where the quads are by themselves, it put us really late getting home...but aside from that, as always, we had a blast.

By the way, are you not racing anymore? I thought you were going to bring out the G-13 (backdoor special) bike?....you closeted 2-stroke lover.... ;D

I know. He was WAY disappointed. He said he's a motocross guy, but he loves that flat trackin'.
I was disappointed that he left too. I think that 4 stroke with that big 'ol motor might have given you guys a run for your money. He seemed to be getting around the track well. Kennedy did well too. I like the one wheeled wheelie off the start. He just hung on and rode out. You guys in the Open class were definately fast and put on a great show. I was impressed by the Intermediate and Novice classes also. They ran good, and for the most part mistake free. I think once people start to get their setup dialed in to the track, that the racing will get much faster. Plus, remember, you were racing on a virgin track, with virgin clay. The track will only get smoother and faster as it gets pounded and worked in. I too hope it grows. I am going to start tryng to buy up some used flat track tires like we discussed a few weeks ago, so everyone who shows up can race.
  I hear you on the late nights. It's going to be hard to do a quads only night at first, due to economics, but as we get going, and the schedules for all the groups get set and we streamline our racing staff, I think it will get better. I was actually thinking about starting a little earlier to help alleviate the wee hour racing. 
  You know, I did go out to practice, but my mind was going a mile a minute with things to do so I decided to pass on the racing. My quad still isn't speaking to me! Maybe after things settle down. I guess that's the problem with making a business out of doing something that you like. It'll be awhile until I race you guys anyway, I'm still afraid of that orange pee wee.

i had a blast and my son was happy that everyone chipped in to help him when his quad broke down.

Jump on that one huh........well........ speed kills..... so keep racing that Yamaha...LOL. ;) How about that one Brady!!  ;D You know the little LT250R I was on didn't break down and it ran with a cracked piston for 2 races. But seriously, I hope you get that LT500 up and running, its 20 years old now so you know they need some more TLC than a new bike does.

......Just kidding about the Yamaha thing, nobody get there panties in a wad.  8)

P.S. Don't make me take Gary up on his offer and run his LTR450 in the intermediate class now, that's a Suzuki that can run without breaking too.

you can never go wrong by buying a suzuki and you can always go fast.

Dreth it was awsome hanging out with you all we will have to do it more offten. We were glad to help geting little man up and running he is a awsome boy you got there.  Ride safe.

The LT250R is getting the engine rebuilt. After that, Thomas is supposed to race it (or Tim) in the intermediate class. I am done with testing on it for now, I am putting all my focus on my 330R for the open class.

We just might double the CCs. :o
