Title: What type of ATV to purchase
Post by: Shell on November 18, 2004, 10:11:47 AM
Hi all....

Our days of three wheelers are gone now and we would like to purchase a four wheeler for our 14 year old daughter.  She only weights about 100 pounds but we want to get a 4 wheeler that will fit her now but also one she will grow into.  The smaller versions seem to small for her and the full size one's seem to be to large for her.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

What type of riding do you do, you looking at sport or utility?

I really don't like the sport ones- but she does :)

Just family riding- trails, camping and croom......nothing fancy

i personaly think a blaster...its a great bike and any thing after 2004 or 2003 cant remeber came with full hydrualic brakes...its a very good small bike for a starter but can be heavly moddified if you choose to keep it.ive seen blaster's modded to compete and race against some of the bigger quads in its class..

here is a pic of the old model blaster 2001 and under stock (http://www.blasterzone.com/rides/projectbike2/projbike1before2.jpg)  and here is that same blaster after some cash and time...(http://www.blasterzone.com/rides/imagespage14/probikepic6.jpg)

and here is a pic of a kid on the newer model blasters stock(so you can see how big it really is) (http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid145/pbd7eb0a3eff1aaee9c517eeec52d3d1d/f666daad.jpg)  and a newer model blaster moddified (http://www.vcatv.com/PBpictures/PBblasterpics/lingofeltblaster1.jpg) (http://www.vcatv.com/PBpictures/PBblasterpics/lingofeltblaster4.jpg)  Hopes this helps some on your choice either way welcome to the quad world ;D ;)

Four strokes are less maintanence than two strokes, my daughter is 11 and rides a 250 and won't outgrow it for quite awhile. She has a hard time keeping my wife off of it.

I have an 05 for sale. Clean and very well maintained. Very little use. $3000.00 and it has nerf bars.
