Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Thrumud on August 08, 2006, 11:57:55 PM i spend like 30 dollars and thats after spliting the cost with friends. Round it off to 50 Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: qt314nfla on August 09, 2006, 12:35:59 AM Splitting cost for truck gas, quad gas, food, drinks for a weekend it costs me $100-150/weekend. And that's preparing all meals at home ahead of time and taking turns cooking. If I did it solo it would cost me $200/weekend. That's w/o a hauler or generator.
Take into account I have to run 93 octane in the quad and to fill up a 6 gallon jug it's around $40. And I ride 150+ miles/ weekend. Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Southern4x4 on August 09, 2006, 07:48:31 AM well about 20-40 becuase we ust grab a couple drinks out of the fridge, get a bag of ice,put $20 bucks for gas into the truck another couple bucks for the biked and go ride
Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: UncleRico on August 09, 2006, 07:59:50 AM Since they've taken away all the spots to ride that are close by, I have a round trip tank of Gas which is about 60 bucks, 20 bucks worth of fuel, oil, and oil filter (I change out pretty much after each ride) for the Quad. Fluids to keep me hydrated and snacky cakes are another 15-20 bucks depending on what I eat for lunch.
So I'm up over $100.00 bucks. Just for a day trip. Now if I go where there is a track fee, or entry fee, add that... If I go on an overnighter...you can forget about it. Charcoal, beer, Steaks, side items, Ice, More gas, it gets up near $200.00 I wish there was a place here in Lakeland where I could just go and ride for a couple hours and keep it under $50.00 but there's not. At least not that I can ride at legally. Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: 05greengriz on August 09, 2006, 08:00:58 AM It cost me no less than $300.00 everytime I hook up.
Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Joedirt on August 09, 2006, 08:43:59 AM Yeah I am good for a hit of 150.00 everytime.
Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: miamigirlrider on August 09, 2006, 09:06:24 AM You guys are good cuz boy do I spend money..
Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Loven It on August 09, 2006, 09:08:41 AM Anywhere between 50-200 depending where we go. Fuel is our biggest issue. Espically the extra tanks - gas/oil mix only one tank, the other 2 regular gas.
Ocala can get up to 150-200 just for a day trip coming from Clwtr..that includes gas for the truck, top of the quad tanks, fill the extra tanks, oil to mix with gas, food and drinks for 2 adults 1 child. Croom we have gotten away pretty cheap 50-100 bucks, gas for truck, top off quads, fill extra tanks, lunch, snacks, make ice tea to bring. However everytime we ride no matter where we go - I never leave the grocery store for less than 50.00 so the total number could be higher than what I said. Shoot it costs 2.29 a bag of Ice now times that by 4-5 to fill the cooler. Thats almost 13.00 alone in just Ice!! Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Bleedsblue on August 09, 2006, 11:08:13 AM I'd say about $175-200 for an overnighter or weekend and $100 if I go for a day ride.
Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: cheropride on August 09, 2006, 11:13:49 AM I am w/you miamigirl, there aint no way I can even get out the door without spending atleast $100.00 - lol
But no in all seriousness, we spend the money!!! There is no way we could do for under $250.00 - not for a weekend trip - shoot I can't even do $100.00 for a day trip - let's see -3 atv's + additional 10 gallons of gas Fill truck up - forget it... about $80.00 Food, drinks, ect .... Just forget it if we take our motorhome, time re-fi the house.... You all are good if you can do it under $250.00 - But man what do you eat..... Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: TRX450R_Racer on August 09, 2006, 11:24:18 AM I'm in the $250 to $300 range. No local places to ride around here. I don't do MX so Croom is it for me.

I am in the same boat .... between his/my UTE's, truck, generator, food, gas ... I'd say at least $250.00 if not more ... Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: T2 on August 09, 2006, 02:39:20 PM Lets see, I usually have to fill up the Diesel Truck thats around 90.00 before I take off, and if I'm lucky I will still have some fuel left when I'm back from werever I go. If not there goes about another 60.00. Than there goes the cost of gas for the two bikes I say around 25.00 and thats not even race fuel, and if the bikes are empty.
Now goes the cost of drinks and food cause most likey I'm going to the track. That around another 50.00 thats inclulding food, drinks, and ice. And than the cost of track fees thats around 20.00 to 30.00 without track memberships, and thats cost is for each me and my son. Oh I forgot the oil to change out on the bikes to keep the maintenance up 30.00 for two bikes. Lets add this up 90.00 25.00 50.00 30.00 30.00 total 235.00 Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Chevy1500z71 on August 09, 2006, 02:50:27 PM 20 bucks worth of fuel, oil, and oil filter (I change out pretty much after each ride) for the Quad. is there any point behind changing the oil evry ride? Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: cheropride on August 09, 2006, 02:53:22 PM just had to add this comment
$80.00 gas to fill up the hauler Another $30.00 of gas to fill atv's and have extra gas $75.00 in groceries and drinks 3 hour drive to camp... unload your ATV and go ride all day and all night.....priceless Sorry couldn't resist, reminds me of mastercard commerical.... ;D $ Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: qt314nfla on August 09, 2006, 03:05:42 PM just had to add this comment $80.00 gas to fill up the hauler Another $30.00 of gas to fill atv's and have extra gas $75.00 in groceries and drinks 3 hour drive to camp... unload your ATV and go ride all day and all night.....priceless Sorry couldn't resist, reminds me of mastercard commerical.... ;D $ Of course for the kids the last line looks more like this: Watching your parents go broke priceless. Watching you parents spend your college education to play w/ you priceless. Not have to pay the freaking bill priceless. There are some things you can do and some you can do better when someone else is footing the bill. Parents, they'll pay for every where you want to be. Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Flea_Jumper on August 09, 2006, 03:18:17 PM All of you forgot to ameratize the cost of the actual vehicles, bikes, gear, hauler ect. My truck payment is 800 per month. The trailer was 6500 and the three bikes are 35k and up. Add it up and divide it over five year period and then get the real numbers. Our hobby is expensive, period.
Truck 48k Bikes 35k Trailer 6k Gear 2k Total before I can go $91,000. Now add in the little stuff. My cost is roughly 1516 per month just to own the stuff not including insurance and the cost of using and maintaining it. Thats it, I am selling it all. ??? ??? ??? Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: MuddFreak77 on August 09, 2006, 03:41:48 PM Flea,
Looking at it like you it costs me $1000/month (fuel included 2 rides a month). But truck is my daily driver so I didn't buy it for the sport, had it LONG before!!! Freakk Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: Flea_Jumper on August 09, 2006, 03:49:52 PM So take and divide what it cost you per month into thiry days and that will give you a per ride cost. Its not cheep.
800 per month/30=26.66 per day. Plus depretation, maintence, insurance, fuel, ect, ect, ect....................................LOL What the hell, its just money. ::) Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: MuddFreak77 on August 09, 2006, 03:56:12 PM I know what your sayin', money it grown on trees... too bad mine died!!!! I have the hop up kit with the racing cam, and I beat the living hell out of my quad everytime I go out to play, so I change the oil pretty much everytime I go at it hard. I guess the old racing habits are hard to break. Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: 450rcrazy on August 09, 2006, 06:03:01 PM I spend about 150.00 on a weekend ride 60.00 on a day ride and can't forget the 100.00 emergancy room co-pay ;D

I have the hop up kit with the racing cam, and I beat the living hell out of my quad everytime I go out to play, so I change the oil pretty much everytime I go at it hard. I guess the old racing habits are hard to break. Plus the 450R only hold 800cc of oil. It gets dirty fast. Your quad hold about 2500cc. I change mine every ride also. Engine and trans. Which I'm sure Uncle Rico does too. Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: yfz450man on August 09, 2006, 07:18:24 PM You guys are killing me. I guess for this to be even, the price would have to be per rider, then including whether you camp or not, etc.
I meet my friends up at croom to ride from tampa, pay $20 gas for quad, $20 gas for SUV (tampa to croom is only 45 mins) and I pack my cooler with drinks I already had in my fridge (hmm, 25 cent sodas, a few gatorades, water, free ice from my freezer that I packed during the week) and then make a few sandwiches from the lunch meat I already have. Add a bag of chips for $2. Or you could even hit Mcdonalds outside of croom and get $.99 double cheeses if you wanted to save a little scratch! On top of that, i would have eaten and drank at home anyways, so I don't really include that as an "extra expense because I was riding". If you were going to grill out at home anyways, grilling at camp is not really an extra expense, at least I don't think so. And if I wasn't driving up to croom and riding, I'd be cruising around town doing things anyways, and woudl prob. burn more gas than I would at croom in the long run! 8) So I don't think I spend like all you guys do, and its not like I don't like to spend money or eat well either!! Title: Re: How much do you spend on a ride Post by: backwoods boy on August 09, 2006, 07:40:51 PM well my truck gits about 10 mpg hiway w/o a trailer load up a trailer w/ atv n jeep im at about 6-7mpg 70 miles each way to holopaw lets see $65 in gas for truck $20 in gas for my atv 250 gets bad mpg seein as im almost 200 pounds $30 for gas in jeep $5 for ice 10 bucks for soda gatorade etc... thats just 4 a day ride about $100-$125 a lil steep for bein 17 n in school good thing i got parents that help me out
