Title: Sunshine MX Post by: jayman on July 25, 2006, 07:16:08 PM Alright guys please help. I am planning on taking my completely stock (other than cherry bomb) lt r to the track on Sunday for practice. This will be my first time on a track (although I am not new to the sport, do mainly trail riding) and I wanted to know if I should wait until my nerfs arrive. I ordered the fat pegs from pro armor but they wont be here for at least a week. I will have all the gear needed for myself but not the bike. I understand that for practice this is all you need, and that you do not even need a kill switch. Please correct me if this is wrong. Please send any suggestions.
I would really like to hear from people that have raced Sunshine as to what kind of set up you are running (tire pressure, suspension set up stock or not) Also should the stock suspension be fine for this track, supposedly I bought a race ready machine, so I guess the suspension should be good for an amature. Please post suggestions, thank you for your time. Title: Re: Sunshine MX Post by: MOTOCROSS MAVERICK on July 25, 2006, 07:23:38 PM you should be fine. i ride out there at least 2 days a week. nerf would be nice for safty but you should be fine as long as you are careful. i run 10 psi in my tires. aftermarket suspension would be nice too but!(i am sure every body would agree) but 90% of the riders have stock suspension.

Title: Re: Sunshine MX Post by: 450r91 on July 26, 2006, 11:20:00 AM Jayman,
To boast your suspension worry, I had a friend go to pax on a stock suspension ste-up on the ltr and take 1st place in a class so I dont think suspension should be a problem just get the ride height set for you and the rebound adjusted to you. Noleen has a dual rate kit they turn the shocks into that makes then even better so that may be something you might want to look into. The whole killswitch thing is probably been safer to run one no matter what just for the safety of you and the riders around you. Dont wanna have a get off and the bike keep going, Not a pretty site. Hopefully this will help you out some Title: Re: Sunshine MX Post by: jayman on July 26, 2006, 11:34:36 AM Thanks 450 for the reply, I am actually picking up a kill switch and starter button today. If all goes well, tomorrow the bike will be running! Sounds like my suspension will be fine, thanks! ;D
Title: Re: Sunshine MX Post by: jayman on July 26, 2006, 07:54:27 PM Well guys, I bought a gunner kill switch and a starter button for the ltr. I removed all the crap off the left side of the handel bars and put a start button on it. Everything works fine and it only took about an hour to do the entire job. I am syked cant wait until Sunday! :D

Title: Re: Sunshine MX Post by: jayman on July 30, 2006, 05:59:35 PM Guys, I made it to the track and honestly I found it to be a bit intimidating but after about 2 laps I was jumping all of the jumps that the other atvs were jumping 8) I have to say a big thanks to motocrossmaverick for tuning my suspension and to cabanaboy for showing me around the track. Seems the bike did very well, the rider on the other hand well..... it was hot and I only made it about 5 minutes in the 10 minute moto. I did stay for five motos so now I guess it is time for the treadmill! I will be BACK!
