Title: Prayers Please - (Updated)
Post by: cheropride on July 22, 2006, 12:37:02 AM
Hey I know this is just an ATV forum, but I need a little help for a really really good friend.  I just back from her house, she told me it was real important that I come see her tonight.  She told me that she has cancer and it has spread to her lymph nodes, she is just like one of us and if you knew her you would love her.  Her name is Vickie and if you could, please just say a little prayer for her, please.

Prayers on the way.

Keep your chin up. I have a grandma that heard this very thing, over 8 years ago.

Been through kemo twice, looks good now for 82, and has her hair back.

Keep the faith.

I will definately be praying for your friend Vickie! I am the youth pastor for a Calvary Chapel church here in Colorado and will add her to the prayer list. If there is any more I can do, please pm me or go over too www.quadsforchrist.net and contact me over their. I will also add her too the prayer list their as well. If I may, I would like to share with you a verse that you can share with Vickie. It is Proverbs 3:5-6. It says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowldge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Jesus promised us we would all face trials and tribulations. In some form or another, we will suffer hardship in this life. Right here, the author of Proverbs who was inspired by the Holy Spirit of God is saying to trust in God no matter what is happening in your life. He goes onto say to not lean on your understanding but God's because our Heavenly Father sees the Big Picture of everything and is in control of every situation even though we may not understand why He is allowing certain things to happen to us. You see, our hope is not in this life but in the next life to come which is eternal. When we have put our trust in God, He has promised to forgive us of our sins and give us eternal life with a glorified body that will never wear out or get sick. I wouldlove to go on in more detail but I have to get back to work. I will get back on tonight when I get home and answer any questions you or Vickie may have. In the meantime, I will be praying for her!
God bless,
Jason

Again I must say thanks to all, I am going to give Vickie this web address so she can read all the wonderful things you all have written.  Believe it or not, just back from a funeral of a someone I have known all my life, and to read what everyone has written is great.  Yes, I am okay, I just realize that this is how life can be.  The funeral was really nice, she had lived a good and long life, and she had touched so many lives.  And you know, what is was actually nice to see all my friends from childhood.  Man those where the good old days.  Thanks to Jean Neal, she is the one that recently past away, she has touched and changed so many lives.  My life would not of been the same, and is so much better for knowing her......

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your other friend! With prayer and God's will, your one friend Vickie can come through this. If it is within God's will, He can heal Vickie. I have wittnessed countless miracles of healing and I feel Vickie can also be one of those that gets miraculously healed if it is God's will. I know it may sound kind of harsh but sometimes God will allow a person to go through a sickness to bring others to Him. You see, since the fall of mankind, God only desire has been to restore that relationship with mankind. Unfortunately, we have a tendency as sinful beings to take or lives for granted. In many cases, it isn't until we are put in a situation where we really have to look at our own mortality or we see someone else going through something where they might be facing death that we then think about life and it's value and what happens after we die. I'm not saying this is why Vickie got cancer. In all honesty, I don't know why because I am not God. But I do know this. Let her know she has a host of prayer warriors praying for her directly too the Throne of God and that no matter what happens, as long as she puts her trust in Jesus, everything will be okay. Encourage Vickie to use this situation for God's glory. There is another scripture in the Bible that says "what Satan has intended for evil, God can turn around and use for good." No doubt Satan is going to try and use this cancer to put fear in Vickie. He will do his best to try and discourage her and bring her down. That is why prayer is so important. I know I can speak for a few of the people on here that are true prayer warriors. Chuck Norris is one of them! When she needs to be lifted up in prayer, we will do so. It is the one thing that Satan hates because when we pray to the Father in Jesus name results happen! Jesus will supernaturally take away that fear that Vickie may be going through, Jesus can give her peace, and if it falls in line with the will of God, Vickie can be completely healed which is what we will all be praying for!

In fact, I would like to pray for Vickie right now!

Father God,

We come to You right now and lift up Vickie. As You know, she has been diagnosed with cancer. Father, in Your Word, You have said You are the Great Physician and I ask You right now that if it be in Your will that You would heal Vickie. I ask You to do a miracle in her life. More importantly though I ask that through this she would draw close to You as well as those around her and that through this, others would see Jesus. Be with Vickie in any thing she may have to go through in regards to treatment or medicines andm eet every need she may have be it emotional, financial and most certainly physical. Give her a peace that surpasses all understanding and help her to trust in You!
In Jesus name I pray!
Amen.

If Vickie would like me to pray with her in person, please let me know and I will do so! If she is not going to any church but would like any kind of pastoral visit, please contact me as well. I know I do not live in her area but I can get a pastor from one of our churches in her area to visit with her and help her out in any way we can.

God bless,
Jason

JayDawg, I could not agree w/more.  I too have seen Him work miracles in my life, He is the same today and He was in the Bible, the Great Healer, the Greay Physician.  And yes, I do understand that sometimes w/go threw trial and tribulation to bring us closer to our Lord.  Countless trials that I had gone threw in my life, only brought me closer to Him.  So yes, thank you and I am in agreement with your prayer for Vickie.

Thank you and God Bless..... :)

My mother-in-law just finished her chemo for breast cancer. She had a breast removed. The cancer was in 3/4's of her lymph nodes also. But guess what, the cancer is gone. She went in for a complete exam and tests and everything come back clear. NO CANCER. SO prayers can be answered. Your family and your friends are all in my family's and my prayers.

Just to let you all know - Went to Vicki's Friday Night and she came up to me and gave me big hug.  I just wanted to let you all know, that each everyone of you have really impacted her.  She was basically in tears thanking me and wanted to me to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers.  Words can't express my gratitude, ALL of you have given her hope and she truly appreciates it.

I would also just like to add one more thing about Vicki.  She has a 16 yr old daughter name Ashley, and when she was born very premature, all the doctors said she would not live.  It was so grave, that even newspaper articles were written about this little girls condition.  Well like I said, she's 16 and she is doing Awesome and is an awesome little girl.  I tell you this, because Vicki truly believes in the power of prayer and she knows back then it was everyone's prayers that saved her little girl.  So please keep them coming.  Let's also keep her children (Ashley, Brittney, & Joey) in our hearts too, for I know this is really hard for them.

Well, tomorrow is the big day (Monday 8/7), Vicki goes in for her surgery.  So again, please keep her in your thoughts in prayers as she begins her journey to recovery.  And thank you from me, for your continued thoughts and post on how she is doing.

Thank you again, and may God Bless you and may God be with her in her time of need.

-Becky

I'm glad to hear Vickies surgery went well. At the prayer meeting at my church, we prayed for her. We meet every Monday morning and pray for all the prayer requests that we have. Vickie has been added to the list and will stay there until she fully recovers!
