I have heard and am going to do this one.

Get a tube of RTV gasket maker and glob it on the pull start handle. Put it back over the hole and it will form a water tight seal. If you need to use it just pull really hard it lets loose.

It's supposed to work great, but I'm not sure I want to get rid of my pull starter. A buddy of mine has to use his all the time since his starter broke. Not to mention if it ever broke we'd have to push the monster onto the trailer to bring it to honda. Tell me how that works bigscrb, I'll have to do that to mine.

the gasket thing sounds like a good idea. like macinedog was saying about losing the pull start but i've never had to use mine in the 2 years and several thousand miles i had it. but you never know...

I never had to use the pull starter, so this is what i did.

In 5 Easy Steps:

1. Pull the handle on the pull starter as far back as u can.
2. Cut the string.
3. Put a glob of silicone over the hole.
4. Let it dry.
5. YOUR DONE!

i had to do that once and dont want to again. the pull start is behind the swingarm so its a pain to take off and the air box has to be removed to get to it also. i want to find a way to seal it off and be done with it. prob. just put silicone under the handle in case i need my pull start. thanks for everybodys advice. if anybody has anymore ideas i would still like to hear them.
